We just had a winter/rain storm. spring is not here for me...
What provence?
What provence?
Northeastern Ontario
And in Alberta, hurray.
The temperature was so nice this week, I cleaned out a few pounds of sand from my car and was thinking about putting on the summer tires... Though I wake up to fucking snow. IT NEVER ENDS!
Northeastern Ontario
Same in southern, it was snowing today in Toronto.
You guys have sunshine? All us Vancouverites get is rain. Of course that shouldn't be surprising in the slightest...

So close to being done with the semester! The 3 exams think otherwise: Flying from Toronto to Vancouver on the 27th.

As of 12-noon I will be a Bachelor (like I need to be reminded) of Arts in History and Political Science. And then... I avoid the real world, because I've already been accepted to a masters! Fuck all y'all bitches!

Where and on what are you doing your MA?
Hopefully Wednesday I pass first year this time and go on to second.

Why is it under latin America?
Hey congrats, I've got that exact situation but on Tuesday (and no Poli Sci). Where and on what are you doing your MA?
EURUS at Carleton! Hopefully focusing on Central Asia, but where you start an MA is often not where you finish it.
For those of you in Toronto $100K reward for information leading to the arrest of two criminals who robbed a west-end TD Bank in broad daylight on April 21. When I'm in Toronto I actually go to that bank really often. http://torontopolice.on.ca/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=6762&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0
My aunt and cousin were in a nail salon in the same plaza when that happened.
EURUS at Carleton! Hopefully focusing on Central Asia, but where you start an MA is often not where you finish it.
Nice, don't often hear about people interested in Central Asia. It's a start though, you know what you're interested in so you can only go from there.

I've heard they exist, but I haven't met anyone who has a different minor.
Are there any history majors who don't take Poli Sci as a minor? I've heard they exist, but I haven't met anyone who has a different minor.
I thought about doing a Poli Sci minor, and then I though "I'm in Engineering, why waste my money on a minor that will not help me find a career at all?"
I thought about doing a Poli Sci minor, and then I though "I'm in Engineering, why waste my money on a minor that will not help me find a career at all?"
Hey man, if this was 1930s Germany you would have been a shoe in. Also, I should say that I'm a double major - read doubly unemployable. And I actually know some History students who did a minor in something else; a friend of mine did a minor in Spanish, another in French. Others do film or sociology, although the vast majority of us do poli sci, it's true.
Are there any history majors who don't take Poli Sci as a minor? I've heard they exist, but I haven't met anyone who has a different minor.
I'm a history major without any minor, worked well enough for me. It isn't mandatory or anything.
As a chemistry major (in progress), I laugh at you arts majors.
As a chemistry major (in progress), I laugh at you arts majors.
Who cares? I'm doing what I love and I'm already getting paid for it.
As a chemistry major (in progress), I laugh at you arts majors.
As an engineering major I've been taught to laugh at all of you, but I won't. It's your choice to make what you want to study, even if I think it might be useless.
As a chemistry major (in progress), I laugh at you arts majors.
Yeah, well, I've read enough dystopian novels (through my ARTS MAJOR) to know that you sciencey fucks are ultimately going destroy humanity as you inevitably move beyond the moral quandaries that us Arts majors refuse to cross. So yeah, that's on you.
In related news, I just spent the morning touring ALS Chemex in North Van. That place is amazing; an entire warehouse dedicated to pouring molten lead glass to determine gold content in ores. A floor full of Inductively Coupled Plasma machines (45ish), next door to 40ish Mass Spectrometers. And an icecube twice my size hanging off the argon gas tank.
Apparently someone on Reddit wrote Harper about his pet cats, and got this response:
For a while, I was planning on moving to Vancouver when I graduate but over the past few months I was thinking I might as well just stay in my city since it will be way easier to find a job and a house. But I visited Vancouver last week and holy fuck I have completely changed my mind again. Its such a beautiful city with great weather, lots of things to do, tons of beautiful women and people that actually care about their hockey team. I cannot wait to be done school so I can move there. Hopefully I'll be able to find a job there with my degree..
If you're in Calgary like the OP says I don't blame you, this place sucks. Can't wait until I'm out too. What degree are you getting anyway?
