I've been on injured leave for almost four weeks now, because I got a serous hernia, that I'm recovering from. I've been waiting for the government to pay me for EI. It's from lifting heavy springs from my job, that's how I got it. I went to Lions Gate hospital to get the surgery and it was done by Dr. Hunter, if anyone is looking for a very good surgeon. Hopefully I'll be back by August and they'll give me something easy to do.
I lived across the street from Lions Gate Hospital all of 2015, fantastic place to live but the previous job didn't allow me to afford it.
Without. That's why I picked Korea, because it's the only country that's not super third world where the minimum requirement is having any sort of university degree.
Oh boy, you're in for a ride though. The schools in Korea that lets you teach English without a degree are usually extremely cheap private schools that will treat you like shit. They will often forget to pay you, they will pay you less than agreed, will give you less hours than agreed, etc.
Don't be surprised if you find yourself having to go back home within a month because they've fucked you sideways and you can't even afford living there anymore to finish any sort of contract they might have given you.
I've been out of a job for four months now. I'm down to my last $92. I'm gonna miss my car insurance payment in the next three weeks unless I go cash in the bottles and cans I have hidden away.
I should of never left Wal-Mart. This job market is horrible.
Take a security license course, tell them your available is 5 days a week and be welcomed to your terrible new security job :v:
Seriously, it's as easy as taking the one week class. If your availability is good, they'll hire you on the spot and pay for your license too. No strings attached besides doing a boring job for $13-$15 an hour, but it's better than starving.
For once I'm not completely ashamed I'm living in my parents basement. They'll let me live here but eventually they're going to want to enjoy being retired.
My job is kinda sucking atm too tomorrow I apply at a place just a few buildings down along with 3/5 of the the other employees!
Pay your workers on time if you dont want them to conspire to all quit at once just to see the look on your face!

If you go through a reputable recruiting agency they still put you in the private schools yes, but they make sure to put you in reputable schools that have been around for a while that they've placed other people in. The recruiting agencies are businesses and it's bad for business if they're consistently putting people in sketchy private schools that treat you like shit. It's pretty easy to do the research yourself to find out if the school is reputable before you sign a contract, and the recruiting agencies will usually put you in touch with either the teacher you're replacing or another teacher at the school so you know what exactly you're getting into.
The private schools being shitty is also pretty outdated information, but it's still something to be wary of because businessmen looking to take advantage of stupid whitey still exist. The conditions in them have improved over the past few years and the vast majority of teachers have decent experiences. I'd rather take the risk and most likely have a good experience than be stuck in Canada, still unemployed and living in my mom's basement this time next year.

At my last job the weekend crew and I put in our two weeks at the beginning of december. I don't necessarily expect they liked going into the christmas holidays with 50% of their trained staff missing, but hey we all found better paying jobs (and more importantly better hours).
Also that job taught me to get everything in writing when it comes to prospective offers, because they never followed up on them.
The Coq got snow.
What the fuck month is this?
It's June and Mother Nature says fuck you.

I know that feeling, looking for new work aswell.
Having to get a criminal record check from the RCMP is way too expensive. The RCMP charges $25 for it, which isn't that bad. What is bad is when I went to my local police force to get my fingerprints scanned, they charged me $50 to scan my fingerprints, literally a 5 minute process, on top of the $25 the RCMP needed. I guess they need to pay for the equipment somehow but damn. Should have taken the time to go a little ways out of town to the local RCMP detachment instead.

Southern Ontario gets awesome storms, so that doesn't count.

Put up a "NO TRESPASSING" or "STAFF ONLY" sign on the front door?
Put up a "NO TRESPASSING" or "STAFF ONLY" sign on the front door?
That's actually a pretty good idea, I'll just put a note up saying we aren't the radio station and give the new address. Surprised I didn't think about that

People won't read that.
Hell they rarely read "STAFF ONLY".

How much did you spend to get that much Crappy Tire money?
Hell I remember finding a $5 Crappy Tire bill in my grandfather's car and being astounded.
I've been saving Canadian Tire Money since 2001. I can wave my wads of dosh around like I'm Harry Enfield.
