So true... I work for a wireless ISP and have looked briefly into the cost of licensed spectrum, it's insane. Eastlink paid something like 23 million for a few licenses in one band. The only way they're able to do that is because they already do cellular in Nova Scotia and cable in a bunch of other places. Any new guys are fucked.

Jesus fuck this BLM stalling the Pride Parade is ridiculous. I've got a bunch of my friends on facebook going on about how it's great that they're taking a stand against the marginalization of the black LGBTQ community and blah blah blah.
Seriously, I thought Pride was about celebrating the LGBTQ spectrum in general. What's this bullshit about specifically the black gays? What about the asian gays and the latino gays and the middle eastern gays? I guess they're all well represented?
I get the feeling I'm about to lose a fuckload of friends over this. I don't need this.
What bugs me is you can't even tell them to get lost and stop shitting up the event because no matter how you word it you come out losing.
Like sure, we do care and all but please don't try freeloading on a gay pride parade.

And the sad part is, some of the things they said had merit. Everyone should get equal billing at Pride. For what it's worth, myself and all of my LGBTQ friends also think it was completely ridiculous, and in posting my own disagreements publicly on Facebook I've gotten nothing but people saying that they agree with me, many of whom I did not expect.
I don't think it's as bad as you say, but it's definitely out there and definitely incredibly infuriating.
I got a gay friend who's the most anti-social justice person I know. When I heard some people don't think white gay men should be included in the LGTB community I joked with him, "Hey man, I heard you're not gay enough anymore." He spent a good half hour talking about how the regressive left are shitting all over everything right afterwards. I guarantee he's gonna be pissed about this just out of principle, because he was never a big fan of modern Pride as a movement.
