We're still sitting at -10 for a daily high. Vancouver is literally unable to comprehend how to deal with snow or ice for this long. :v:
We're descending into madness all right. I heard there was a riot over free salt handed out somewhere.
Fuck salt. Just spray sand everywhere. Also fuck the city. I doubt people are going to haul away enough sand to impact the environment that much.
my neighbor thought using kitty litter instead of salt for the ice was a good idea front steps are now soggy clay
That time a few years back when Toronto had that ice storm people were buying 20kg blocks of deer attractant salt from my shop, because everywhere was out of road salt, so they could smash them and spread them on their driveways when they got home.
reminds me of this

Kitty litter is great when you're in a bind and need traction (Like when your car is stuck) but I'd never use it somewhere that I walk normally
you're supposed to use non-clumping litter though lol she used clumping litter and the step became a mess of clay shit
you're supposed to use non-clumping litter though lol she used clumping litter and the step became a mess of clay shit
Oh god why

If there is one thing I hate in Canada, it's those fucking debit cards. We don't have this in France and I know why now.
No debit cards...? How the shit do you withdraw money from an ATM then?
With a normal Visa card, I guess it's a credit card for you. i'm trying to buy from bestbuy with my debit but fuck it's rejected all the time despite having plenty of money on my account. It's really frustrating.
My debit card is so weird. I mean, sure Interac is a Canadian thing and all but because it also supports Plus... ...I can fucking withdraw money with my debit card from a backalley japanese 7-11 (but not from one of the bigger national bank ATM's, because fuck international cards) and in the states I can do POS transactions using Visa's network without actually needing to use my Visa card. Yet I have american buddies come up and bitch at me because "what the fuck is "DEBIT ONLY"??"
Visa charges interest on withdrawals from ATMs from the day you withdraw it rather than the day of billing, that's why you don't use your Visa card at ATMs.
I wonder why they do this, I guess it's a convenience fee for when you don't have your debit card (ignoring any ATM fees).
My neighbour was outside this afternoon with a flamethrower melting the ice on his driveway.
Sorry Vancouver, I'm going to have to order up another round of arctic outflow.
Sorry Vancouver, I'm going to have to order up another round of arctic outflow.
Hi, yes, I am North Vancouver, last time I didn't quite get enough ice covering my 35* incline driveways. Could you fix that please? Thanks. [editline]I know[/editline] Oh, and if you could throw in some more of that transit mayhem that would be great.
There's supposed to be a blizzard in Toronto tomorrow, and I have to work. Fun.
There's supposed to be a blizzard in Toronto tomorrow, and I have to work. Fun.
Likewise, it's gonna suck in the morning
Where are you in North Van?
deep coveish
deep coveish
Oh a Deepcouverite eh? Why are most North Shore facepunchers from east of Lynn Creek?
Oh a Deepcouverite eh? Why are most North Shore facepunchers from east of Lynn Creek?
Easy escape routes, good visibility with a gasmask on.

CBC Vancouver had an arctic outflow warning over Pentium's house.
I go outside right now and it feels WAY colder than -21. No clouds, full moon and dead silent.
Sounds like the start of a horror movie. Meanwhile it's like 5 and raining in Toronto.
I go outside right now and it feels WAY colder than -21. No clouds, full moon and dead silent.
Go outside the house with headphones in your ears for 15 minutes, take them out of your ears and see if the cord remains rigid.
Sounds like the start of a horror movie. Meanwhile it's like 5 and raining in Toronto.
It feels weird that it's raining in January (and December)
