Is rent in Quebec dirt cheap?
Of course not.
Come to the North. Can't go wrong.
I'm not particularly picky about where in Canada I go.
I'm more inclined to go to Nova Scotia but anywhere I can afford is fine.
From what I've heard of ex-UBC students, most left since UBC tends to treat undergrads more like cash sources rather than students, plus all the pros and cons that come with larger schools.
Quebec and the maritimes are cheaper but look for a program with required co-op especially if it's the STEM fields, like UVic[sp]totally not biased there[/sp]:v:.
Yeah I'm kinda not wanting to go to a big school - in Scotland there is that same issue, even though for the most part our tuition is free.
I'd prefer a smaller university anyway, tbh. Just keeping my options open.

The international student rates at Stfx are pretty reasonable and Antigonish is a lovely town

This is actually the school that's my first choice at the moment. Seems like a really nice place.

line up for the beer store :v:
What, is it drive thru only because at that point, I might as well park somewhere and walk to the front of the store..
drive thru only store im pretty sure
aint nobody on the roads now
They have drive-thru beer stores out east? Fuck. I blame Kathleen Wynne for the lack of these in Ontario.
Is rent in Quebec dirt cheap?
Some of the cheapest in Canada I would say. Cheaper than Toronto and Vancouver by a mile at least.
My French is God awful
Wouldn't be an issue if I could get a loan but I'm relying on my own savings and a little bit of family support as I would need a Canadian co-signer
It's okay, McGill and Concordia which are really good universities are both English Universities and everyone around speaks English as their first language
shit you guys are unlucky.....or geographically badly placed?
It's -10 here. The snow is actually melting on some places.

This island always gets shit on, mainland usually has it worse.
I remember living in Halifax during "White Juan" which was a snowstorm that hit a few months after Hurricane Juan hit the East Coast in 2004. The snowstorm dropped 80-100cm in one night and the city was shutdown for days.

Google "White Juan" for more pictures
Fond memories of School being cancelled for a few days and jumping off the roofs of houses into the snowbank. Good times.
It looks cool but then I think of how it would be hell here. last year we ran out of space to put the excess snow from the roads, this would fuck us badly. We probably have to open dumping sites on fertile lands at that point.

Update: My front porch looks exactly like this now after shovelling, no sidewalks are plowed or anything. Gonna take a picture once I get this camera charged up.

Knowing West Van I think I know exactly which undercover vehicle which officer was driving it.
