So anyone know much about Concordia University of Edmonton? They are super affordable for me but I'm slightly concerned that is an indicator of quality.
We build shit with snow here. Igloos, Quinzees, fuckin' castles, you name it. We do one with the snow. Hell, I have a signed book about snow from a local author. We even cook stuff in the snow, with maple syrup sometimes. Coming to Canada was really a changing experience. Amazing.

Under my order. The snow will never end. Trump is president, kids. Welcome to your frozen hell. ]:0
Meanwhile in cowtown, its warm enough that I can wear a tee shirt and my windbreaker and be fine.
Well Nova Scotians the weather is getting warmer. Meet up soon!
I had a fuckin blast in Canada boys. I saw the Flaming Lips at Rebel in Toronto, then Sunn O))) at the Queen Elizabeth Theater. The flaming lips show was a trip and a half, and Sunn pumped so much fog into the theater that the smoke alarms went off and they had to deal with the fire department for like an extra 45 minutes. I saw Sunn again in Montreal at SAT and they played for nearly three hours which is way too fucking long for a band that loud. We didn't get to see many attractions cause we were too busy looking for a place to park the van overnight cause we had to sleep in it, which was cold as all fuck. Ketchup chips and Tim Hortons was the main diet for 4 days, and my farts are still putrid lol. I fucking love your country, I will definitely spend more time getting to know it.
You seem to have picked up the a dialect a little bit eh lol
Down here where I live, only my friends and I say shit like "friend" and "bud/buddy" so I felt like we fit in pretty well. Except when we went to Montreal and everyone gave us dirty looks when we said that we didn't speak French. I guess it's not a myth, you Quebeccians really don't like speaking English [editline]18th March 2017[/editline] The people at Timmy's would always call me bud when I was ordering and that made me so happy
Wait til you visit newfoundland
Anyone got an idea of what the general job market is like in Nova Scotia? I'm looking to work part time while studying and was wondering if there may be issues finding work (don't really care what it is, I will happily stack shelves or flip burgers) Where I am right now job market is pretty grim.

[editline]18th March 2017[/editline] I mean you could always do a call center if you're up in cape breton, or unload fishing boats. If you're around Halifax you should be fine. If you're up around Cape Breton stop by, we'll have a drink or 14

From what I've seen NS universities are pretty affordable for international students but CBU in particular is very cheap. Basically my shortlist is CBU, Acadia and StFX.
CBU is indeed very cheap, if you end up going there you have a place to hang out and chill if you like. Good luck! [editline]18th March 2017[/editline] Lot of university students take a job at Servicom, they hire nearly every week. it's call center work for Onstar but piss easy. Sometimes you don't talk to anybody. $11.50 per hour aint too bad

I'm probably not going to have access to any kind of financial aid so I'm going to be paying all costs up-front with savings and then working for food and rent.
I'd say you'll be fine, rent can get pretty cheap here. I'm paying 750 for a 2 bedroom apartment in Sydney, heat and wifi is included. It ain't so bad but I'm probably gonna find a cheaper 1 bedroom apartment around here soon since we don't have a roommate anymore and it's just me and the lady here currently.
Halifax is pretty much the only place that you can find a job right away, finding a job in the valley is like picking fly shit out of pepper while wearing boxing gloves. Took me nearly five years to find employment here and I've gone through two jobs in the past six months since I moved up here and the wait time in between was just a few days. Have we done meet ups in NS before? If so, how'd it go?
Finding a job is kinda a make-or-break thing for me. The fees aren't that high for international students (in fact they are about the same price as domestic fees in the UK, go figure) but as I do not have access to any form of loan whatsoever either government or private I can't really go and study in NS without finding a job.

If you go in small towns like where I live ATM, almost nobody speaks english and nobody tries to learn. In fact I thank video games for my knowledge in english because our English courses suck ass.

If you're good enough they'll put you in the level 5 English class and hot damn I wasn't as good with English as I thought I was but I learned a whole lot. It's true that in small towns you're less likely to have people speaking english but on the opposite end, in Montréal 50% of the population can speak it and nobody is gonna blink an eye if you don't know any french.
Breaking weather update: Its raining in Vancouver.
So the Power Rangers movie is coming out tonight. Because it was filmed here I expect there to be a crowd. You think I should go or pass on it and wait for the reviews to come in?

The general gist seems to be "they hit a lot of good notes, the references to the shows may be hit or miss depending on your opinions on such references, and there's way too much Krispy Kreme product placement".
Wow, the new S.T.A.L.K.E.R is looking really good.
You think you're kidding, but I spent the entire trek home that day thinking of the jokes I could make with those pictures for FP.
Oh look, the BC liberals are at it again. http://bc.ctvnews.ca/bc-liberals-refunding-more-than-92k-in-indirect-contributions-1.3340336
In a statement issued Friday afternoon, the party said its investigation identified 43 indirect contributions that will be refunded. The donations were made by individuals using personal credit cards on behalf of their organizations, then reimbursed by the organizations, something considered prohibited under the elections act.
Makes me wonder if we will end up with a Conservative or NDP government because i'm pretty sure everyone is fed up with the liberals.
I can only hope NDP
I can only hope it's never the NDP.

I just hope BC actually manages to kick the BC Liberals out this upcoming election.
