Whoops. My bad. Iunno, Mississauga maybe? Burlington? Brampton? I hear ads for cheap condos in Barrie all the time. Only problem with Barrie is commuting anywhere.
Also... it's Barrie. My parents live there. It isn't bad, but it isn't exactly great either. It's a little bit sketchy, honestly. At this point I'm thinking Ottawa might be a good choice, but I really don't have a whole ton of information to go on there.
Then you can't afford Toronto. There is no such thing as "cheap" housing in Toronto. Shitty basement apartments are the cheapest thing I've ever seen, and they're $500/month at the low-end. That, and car insurance is a bitch. So is driving. So is the transit system. I think you have to be a little bit masochistic to live here, actually.
Wow $500 for a basement suit? Thats really cheap... Also I hit the stapler at work really hard, coworkers commented on my abuse of the stapler. I said "just like my wife" and now everyone is making domestic abuse jokes. What have I started!
I'll be trapped in Vancouver from Wednesday to Sunday while my car is being repaired. What do???
So we had a beavertail stand on campus this week
I'll be trapped in Vancouver from Wednesday to Sunday while my car is being repaired. What do???
Lets go to the Alibi Room!
Lets go to the Alibi Room!
Sure. It's only a few stops if I take the Powell bus from my hole in the wall.
I live in Nova Scotia if you can add me to the OP. I'd rather not say where exactly, just Kings County.
Aww :'( The full day D: , Forever alonee in Toronto
Don't know if it makes any difference but I'm going to be around from sunday-wednesday or thursday, I think I could overcome some anxiety. And sorry for never showing at the meet, I was about to make the trip but I was nervous and I didn't know if I should have made the trip. In all honesty though it would be pretty cool to meet another FP'er
Wednesday afternoon I'm having my amateur radio licensing exam! Hype! Soon I will be qualified to communicate with the ISS.
Wednesday afternoon I'm having my amateur radio licensing exam! Hype! Soon I will be qualified to communicate with the ISS.
I've sorta wanted to get into that. Until then, I'm just some dude with an RTL-SDR dongle hanging out of his laptop with a piece of stripped coaxial cable attached to it.
Contact your local amateur club, mine does free licensing exams. Also, if you happen to have a raspberry pi... You can do this
I TOOK THE SUBWAY FOR THE FIRST TIME :D! It was so much fun :$ , I'm planning on coming again this up coming weekend for Friday to Sunday.
I might be able to join you two at the bar. I will need to see how my schedule pans out due to school + group assignments.
Welp. Might as well! Add me up in Montreal.
I TOOK THE SUBWAY FOR THE FIRST TIME :D! It was so much fun :$ , I'm planning on coming again this up coming weekend for Friday to Sunday.
Try taking it every day at rush hour. It stops being "fun" very, very quickly when you're jammed in a subway car with literally a thousand other people all trying their damndest not to be late for work. You feel like a sardine in a can.
I started walking 5km to school every day because the crowds in subways gave me panic attacks.
Until people realize subways are high density public transit, their concern for personal space is detrimental to the efficiency of the TTC...
I remember the first time I took a SkyTrain. Followed a friend from Burrard to Stadium. I remember thinking "I never knew Vancouver had a subway." I also found out later that there are machines you buy tickets from.
So cable at my place is cancelled. The only thing I really miss is CP24. Is there some free service that can stream CP24 on let's say a computer to a TV via HDMI or something on Android that can also Chromecast to the TV? Or something similar on an android app since I could just Chromecast the entire display on the Android device. Or should I get those HD-capable Antennas to get free signals/channels?
Anyone else getting shafted by the CADUSD exchange rates these days?
Yes, buying crap off Amazon usa and getting it shipped over here with Amazon prime from a friend never got so painful with the damn Canadian dollar being so low. Muh buying power.
What makes it worse is 90% of shit on the internet that you want to buy is in USD.
I walk into a lab to discover every computer equipped with the same old mic I've had at home since the 1990's. Where is my tuition money even going?
I was promised white Juan 2.0 what I got was a little bit of snow and some wind.
Am I missing some kind of inside joke orr?
