The Yonge & Eglinton area is pretty good too, so long as you don't go too far west. I'm at Avenue & Eglinton and it's a relatively calm, safe, and cheap area - mostly owing to the fact that it's an even mix of mega-wealthy homeowners and renters. I'm only paying 1075 for my apartment here, though I'm splitting the rent with my partner. Also, avoid stuff near Sherbourne and Bloor. I lived there for a year, it was fucking awful. The best spots of the city are most often found outside of the core of it.
Today I'm legally allowed to have a BAC while driving and won't lose my license for it. Fuck you Dalton McGuinty and your unconstitutional bullshit under-22 law about drinking and driving. [editline]19th May 2015[/editline]
I'm from the good section of Jane, just south of St Clair. Everything North of St Clair is ghetto has hell.
I'm north of it, and my nice little neighbourhood is sandwiched between 3 ghettos and a country club.
What's the district called that Flemington Park is located in? What you're saying sounds pretty good to me. But what's the problem with Vendome Place?
It's an isolated mini-ghetto (really mini, just like one block) which is pretty timid most of the time, but at night looks creepy and not well lit. There is no way to accidentally walk in there at night. Aside from tons of "gangsta" black people and semi-annual shootings, it's your average closed-in residential area. Flemingdon Park is located in the city's North York district. It is part of the Don Valley West. Commute to downtown is usually from 40 to 60 minutes and once you get used to it, it literally flies by.

I live in a small town and with train and bus it takes about that time too to reach the bigger city centres, so I'm already used to that.
Callander, Ontario is screwing with my mind. I type out that city name often enough at work that I mistype the word "calendar" all the time. Broadbent, Ontario is also iffy because it sounds a lot like "Broadband", which can cause some confusion when you're working at an ISP...

My flag finally shows up under my avatar, I'm official a Canadian-Facepunchian I mean, I have been since I joined, but when they added flags it worked for a bit, but then broke. Seems what ever they did to update the forum software fixed it.
People drive bad enough when they're sober so I'd be completely willing to support a law that banned any BAC over zero for anyone of any age
People drive bad enough when they're sober so I'd be completely willing to support a law that banned any BAC over zero for anyone of any age
I've seen people range from being able to drive perfectly after a dozen beers, and someone unable to drive after missing a few hours of sleep. It's hard to put in an universal limit that's fair for everyone...

Hello fellow Canadians, I have returned :D and no I'm not the same guy with the shark dick avatar, that's my partner who got this account banned like the little goof he is. I've not been on this site in years now, kinda nice to be back and see its hummin along SO. Anybody in Vancouver wanna see the ~debut peformance~ of my band at a fundraiser in West Van? I promise extremely loud rock and a good time
Where in West Van?
Hey I'm in Quebec for a few days, what's super super fun to do here? I'm 19.
That depends. Where in Quebec? I've only been to Montreal, and the amusement park was good for some fun.
Hey I'm in Quebec for a few days, what's super super fun to do here? I'm 19.
What part of Quebec? Montreal is probably the only real notable place. Quebec city is nice and all but there's less to do. If you're in Montreal, there's a good chance that there's a festival going on, we have festivals going on pretty much around the year. We also have a pretty good Nightlife, go look at places like St Catherine streets, go to the old port, we've got tons of museums, Chinatown, shit like that.
I'm kind of close to the Parc du Mont-Royal. I'm a bit apprehensive about this whole place, its my first time travelling alone and I'm not sure where to even start meeting people on a similar wavelength. I guess the hostel I'm in is a start. Didnt quite realise how French this place was haha
Where in West Van?
Thunderbird Marina in Eagle Harbour, June 7th :3: [editline]24th May 2015[/editline] idgaf if the :3: smiley is gone, I'll still use it
Breaking (West) Vancouver Weather report: Its raining.
Are you from the WV? I would laugh most excitedly
Meanwhile in Langley construction has blocked off my apartment buildings entrance the 24 hours of notice was very helpful.
I work in West Van, live in North Van, raised on Bowen.
:O oh reaaaaaally now, you're getting added on steam

Didnt quite realise how French this place was haha
Try to learn very very basic French, most French people will be able to hold a conversation with you or be able to give you directions but some are assholes and will pretend they don't know shit in English but the second you even try to speak French, anything like "Bonjour" or "J'ai besoin d'aide" and suddenly they'll be happy to help you in English just because you made an attempt at speaking French no matter how shit. Just tell everyone "Je ne parle pas Français". I'd come meet you and show you around but I live in Terrebonne north of Montreal, it's not a long ride but my car's totally fucked and I don't trust it on the highway one bit. You're right besde McGill's university, just hang around there, tons of English people and international students, you should be able to meet just about anyone there.
Habitat 67 is here? God damn I need to see that! Been to Mont-Royal, McGill campus, Notre-Dame Basilica and the old port (kind of) today, as well as cycling and basically roaming around completely clueless in the rain. Still a lot of fun. Hoping I'll be able to approach nightclubs on my own... Never done this before OOOOOH WELLLL
Apartment 200 is cool go there
So the water main work outside my apartment is going into its 6th straight month ,its driving me nuts.Top it off they have now blocked off all access to my building in order to get in I have to get a flagger to clear a path.
Flagdog thinks I'm American now, :(
Teamspeak thought I was from Britain for the longest of time, I don't know what causes things like Flagdog and that to make mistakes like that.
I had to tell Microsoft that it was really me using my phone because the e-mail client thought I was in Vancouver (due to Telus), and then at home it thought I was in Montreal (due to Bell).
So I passed my class 5 road test in Lonsdale today!!!
