Christ I remember Pingu it was bizarre.
Looking at buying a place in Chilliwack BC.
I loved Pingu when I was a child.
Also if you think Vancouver is boring I can't imagine you'll fare any better in Chiliwack :P

its probably about the same honestly If they have 1 bowling alley they are faring better than my neck of the woods.
I still cant believe the huge difference in price such a shot distance makes 180k as opposed to 1.8M for basically the same house.
Move to Kelowna and I will better help define "boring" for you.
alberta is boring as fuck
only cool thing here is the weed and low tax

Spent a year in Alberta I would argue the cost of housing makes up for the low tax.

"Oh, you working on rigs? Great to hear. Yeah, sorry about the $800/month but look! it has running water in the kitchen!
Mold? No that's uh, sponge painting. My wife did it. She is from Latvia. You got good deal here. The rent won't change in the next two months either. Promise!"
Seriously. It's not by off chance you riggers get fucked royally in tiny-ass towns where the rent for shitty apartments is suspiciously high.

...
800$?
my rent was 950$ 100 sqft no heat no hotwater ,contaminated well, no laundrey, mold, and she fucking sold the place without telling me and ran off with my security deposit!
I was one ofthe lucky ones mind you.
950$ is cheap out there I knew of people paying 1100 for a single room. They treat you like an animal out there someone tried to rent out a single car garage with a cot in it for 1600$.
To any decent people from Alberta sorry to say this but from my experience I honestly think most people living there are pigs.

Got no problem with stoners that is their deal its meth heads and tweakers that I have issue with breaking into my car 50km from town in my driveway to steal my GPS and pieces of my center console.

Rockin that sylvan lake right now. No friends here though :(
Used to live by calgary.. Too many rednecks/rigpigs with noisy ass trucks.
It gets worth the further North you go by the way.

Hey whats up with no one in Alberta stopping for people who crash in winter?
I spun out one night and no one would stop to help me.
Same thing when I blew a tire in a uhaul no one would stop.
Coldest damn 15 hours of my life with that Uhaul.
I think everyone here is just too self centered to stop and help others
Markham (suburb of Toronto) reminds me of China.
Markham (suburb of Toronto) reminds me of China.
Its horrendously polluted, poor, and people have different customs and notions about hygiene?
It's also a super chinese neighborhood, literally all the asian girls I've met from Ontario came from Markham.
I once went to Markham and felt like I was in a foreign country. All the signs on businesses are in Chinese. Me and Angus went to a Chinese supermarket, I was one of 2 white people there. I think there's more Chinese in Markham than Chinatown.
I hear Brampton is the same, but with Indians, and Vaughan is full of "Italians." I think it's rather fascinating how these ethnic enclaves pop up like this over time.
I've been kicked out of a few establishments in Vancouver, presumably because I was white.
Bullshit you're totally booked. It's 9PM and there's barely anyone there.
At least we have none of these problems here on the north shore of Vancouver... Aside from the reserve...

At that point I'd really install a ham radio in all my vehicles.

Middle-Eastern, Eastern European and Indian establishments almost always have English. Asian restaurants in China-town however like to keep to their own languages. Its strange to walk into a restaurant just to realize that you can't read the menu.

Both Brampton and Markham have ~38% South Asian and Chinese populations respectively; Vaughan has a much higher proportion of "white" immigrants (Italian, Jewish/Russian, etc.) I grew up in Richmond Hill myself, which is one of the less lopsided suburbs. Even for us there were still so many ethnic enclaves that were "off limits" so to speak.
During the Anime North weekend, the subway that travelled down Yonge street and to a bus that connects to the convention center / airport was shut down for "Signal Repair / Boosting" whatever that is.
According to the news, the subway was down this morning as well? And some taxi app banked in on that, tripling their prices.
Iirc Lawrence station to Bloor and Yonge was down, so you could go to Lawrence West station instead.
Nonetheless anime north was good this year.
Well the one time TransLink Security does their job is the one time I didn't carry my wallet on me.
Luckily I didn't have my wallet on me so I didn't have ID, and it would have required them taking me to the police station which is an intersection from my apartment where my bus pass and ID were.
So they told me to take a hike instead of fining me $175.
There's a Trans Rights / Pride march outside the apartment. Forgot that the Pride events started today.
Fun fact the Provincial goverment and the Federal goverment dont actually talk to each other at all so if you update your address with the provincial goverment the Federal government will never find out.
Also it should not have taken 5 weeks and 1100 phone calls to reach the Canadian revenue agency I mean I know the goverment is not on the cutting edge of tech but when you dont even have a que or caller waiting on the only line for the Tax beureau.(1100 was a rough estimate it was deinately alot more than that)
Anyone north-east of Toronto?
There's a lightning storm heading your way.
That storm kept me up last night. It sounded like lightning was striking right behind my house the thunder was so damn loud.
Even just the rain was crazy loud, let alone the thunder.
