Yeah, that storm was pretty cool. Kept me up, but it was still cool to watch.
I built an ADS-B receiver for my dad for fathers day.
So now he can track planes from his house.

Those RTL2832U dongles are so fun. It's amazing how much radio frequency is in use that you can pick up with a silly little USB stick and a shitty antenna. I keep meaning to bring mine into work and see if it could help troubleshoot interference problems on our 900 MHz Motorola/Cambium Canopy gear.
Anyone know good areas for cheap Bachelor apartments? I'm paying 500 a month for a small room with no laundry or internet included and I also only have a microwave and rice cooker to cook with (I bought the rice cooker because I was sick of the microwave..) and I just REALLY need to get out of Mississauga.
I found a place east of here that's still very much in Mississauga thats 380 a month for a room this size that includes the laundry, internet, has shared kitchen ect. but its not going to be very viable living there more than a month because I'm trying to clear up a few highschool credits at alternative school now, and they're rare in Mississauga. At the same time my girlfriend is going to be at George brown nearly every day so I'd be able to see her if I was back in Toronto.
I found a few bachleors on viewitnow for around 400 but they're all advertised for "new canadians" and "esl students" so they could all turn out to be bug infested for all I know. I'd stay in a room apartment, but I have a lot of personal anxiety to do with noise and being so close to people like that and since I moved into this house in february its been chewing down my brain.
And, I have a special needs (Deaf) cat that I haven't been able to take care of in months while she's been at my mom's house (thats now being sold), the shit part is nobody knows how to take care of her.
I just hate Mississauga sooo much for sooo many reasons, living here with no vehicle fucking sucks.
Breaking News
It's raining in Vancouver.
You may find a basement apartment in the west-end for $500/month, but a lot of them have really stupid rules. Otherwise, the cheapest bachelor I saw was $800/month in Roncesvales.
If I was to move to Toronto or Vancouver, realistically speaking, how cheap could I go as far as appartments goes without living in walls made out of shit and cockroaches smackdab in the middle of the ghetto, also how's the job market, would I actually be able to find a decent job?
Quebec is starting to suck and they're going back to their talks of separating.

Vancouver and Toronto are among the most expensive places iirc. Toronto basement level apartments shouldn't be too bad, but I can only speculate.

Its not really uncommon to see $500 basement apartments but they might have odd conditions, like you share the laundry machines with the rest of the house, shared kitchen, or one place I saw on kijiji a couple weeks ago was a great huge basement (It was very empty though tbh) with shared laundry, and a separate entrance too, but the only fridge in the apartment was a mini-fridge.
As for room apartments, I would honestly stay away unless you know the people in the house you live with, this place seemed great and it was literally across the street from my school.
Only later did I find out my landlady cuts cost on everything down to the water-saving shower heads that feel like someone is lightly pissing on your head, tried to charge me extra rent for having a window fan, charges for doing laundry, the guy in the room next to me is an enormous creep, only leaves the house 1-3 times a month and sneaks around in the halls when I have my girlfriend over, leaves pee in the toilet 3 times a day, clogs the toilet and leaves it, pees on the seat, then freaks out on you when you accidentally start a new roll of toilet paper because you don't see the one arbitrarily placed on a shelf behind where I was sitting, also will wait until 12:30 at night to bang around and move things after being silent an entire day (Which really doesn't help my mild Hyperacusis)
Along with the fact that you'll only be entitled to your room, the only piece of furniture I've used since february is the computer chair in my room. So you'd have to get really used to sitting in a very cramped room for the entire night and not really even have room to move around.
Hamilton is amazing but there aren't a lot of jobs.

I've actually not been able to find anything out here that isn't a room for under 600, I've had more luck looking more eastward but I still need to find a way to have a place to live, go to school, and visit my girlfriend at george brown a few times a week
Don't move to Hamilton.
A buddy of mine is paying $1300/month for a 1 bedroom in Parkdale, which is kinda ghetto, and it has a roach problem (that he stupidly hasn't reported because he can't be bothered). Really, Toronto costs at least $1500/month in rent to not be totally shit and that's somewhere in the east or west end of the city.
As for jobs, there's still jobs here. Not sure what kind of job you're looking for, but there's always jobs in retail.

Parksdale must be serious shit then, my sister is a TA at McMaster, lives in a great building that recently had Bachelor's up for 280 a month, including utilities.
But once again Hamilton is worse off for jobs
And 1500 dollars is WAY over a minimum for apartments, another one of my sisters had had a two bedroom rented, with everything included in East york, for 1200.
You can find a HUGE variety of one bedrooms all over the city for 800, in nice areas, in nice buildings
I looked up Hooker Harvey's on google, since I wanted to see if I could find out which Harvey's it was that gained this nickname, and not only did I find it, Google posted it on Google Maps. The Harvey's at Jarvis and Gerrard shows up when you google "Hooker Harvey's"
holy shit I graduate tomorrow
holy shit I graduate tomorrow
Sick, so do I!
I graduated on the 5th.
Now I need a job or I won't be able to afford Toronto in 3 months.
I also worked out, that at current tuition rates it's only going to cost me around 16k for university.

Without roomies or a full time job you should really consider on-campus (As much as that blows)

Oh wow, I was supposed to graduate last June :suicide:

I have my girlfriend with me in this apartment, and there's opening for servers that require the alcohol license.
I'll probably become a waiter / bartender somewhere and put my smart serve license to use. Could be Jack Astor's (They're hiring), I dunno.
There's a concert for the Pride week event going on. Lyrics for the one song playing consist of "Don't touch my hair, Ho. Or my Chinchilla coat"
Nothing against the event, but your lyrics are bad and you should feel bad.

So I'm going to Canada alone, and apparently I need papers signed by my parents saying I could be there cause I am under 18. My friend gave me papers but it was for Canadians traveling outside the country, and not people traveling into Canada. Is there a paper equivalent for US? My dad said he was just gonna make his own paper and have bring it to the post office to get it signed or stamped to make it legitimate, but I was still wanting to make sure.
Check the Canadian government website for immigration, or the US government website for emigration.

That would be called notary, basically he's sending it to a notary office where some lawyer people will make it legit. You wouldn't need this if one of your parents (or legal guardian) was with you crossing the border.
IIRC you don't need a Canadian Visa if you're an American citizen visiting Canada for less than 6 months unless you fit in a small category of people.
I thought anyone from USA/Canada could cross freely as long as they had a passport? I literally just throw my passport at the border guy then he asks me if I'm there to bomb something or just to smell the piss and shit of NYC then I'm on my way

For general travel, yea. If you're working, you need a work visa still.

Yes but I'm 17 and traveling alone, so it just adds more stuff for me to do than just a simple passport.
It'd 25°C here and 100% humidity.
It's so moist walking out of my air conditioned job into the night.
it's so damn warm here that I am having difficulties sleeping.
It was 13 degrees and raining on Sunday.
Quebec is being hit by a cold front or some shit so the entire weekend and some of the week we're not having temperatures above 15 lmao
