Holy fuck, it's been toasty in Northern Ontario lately. Goddamn I wish my car's AC was working. I'm so close to sticking a desk fan in my passenger seat to keep me cool when stuck in traffic. Either that or just keep refilling the AC refrigerant and having it leak out into the atmosphere in four days.
Ugh, it's horrible... It rained where I was and the humidity went through the roof.
Quebec? Armed uprising? From the one province trying to preserve the gun registry? Hah.
One of the largest provinces AND they're right next door to parliament, plus tons of separatists. What better mix could you get?

Well my trip to the MTO went about as bad as it could. Not surprised though. They basically said at this point I should be starting the M license process from ground zero, but the guy was trying really hard to get me up to full M because he knows I only did what I was told I could, which is take the test again before August 12th. He said he'd get it sorted out tomorrow when he gets in, but right now I'm preparing to be told to fuck myself and that I wasted $500 on the Humber course and won't get my license. I hope that doesn't happen, but I'm preparing to be told it will. The anxiety is likely going to keep me awake tonight.
Shit, DaCommie, that sucks. They better sort it out. --------------- Also I just bought what appears to be a Nuka Cola :wow: [t]http://orig10.deviantart.net/7c8c/f/2015/211/e/5/nuka_cola___by_antimingebag-d93i9s2.jpg[/t]

Oh I bought a whole case of all flavors in Costco, just happened to pull this one out first.
Looks more like nuka cola quantum.
Aww yiss ladies, got myself a new car. No more old ass 2003 car that smells like oil with the engine smoking and the brakes crying. From tomorrow, I got myself a very respectable Ford Focus 2015 Not bad for my second car and my first new car.
Ayyy, noice. Though it would drop quite a bit in price next year.

They're replacing the old Sync system with one compatible with Android Auto / Apple CarPlay, so if I'm going to own a car for a while, I might as well get one where the software is as new as I can get it. Not to mention that car looks fun as fuck. They only come in manual, which I don't have a ton of experience with. Though from the little that I did drive my dad's beat up 04 Audi A4 with a manual, it was really fun. I just need to get more comfortable with it. I'm hoping to pick one up next year, before next winter. Ideally, I'll hold out until I can get 0% financing.
So the dude who was helping me told me they won't even consider doing anything for me at the Ministry unless I take my M1 again, so I took my M1 again. It sounds like he's got a person at the Ministry who is sympathetic towards me, and he was saying what they'll do is waive the mandatory waiting periods now and accept my test results. Here's hoping that's how it goes down, else I wasted $500 on a nice weekend of heatstroke and stress for nothing, and if I want to still get the license, I'll have to hold onto the bike for another 3 years and bloody wait again through the whole process, testing all along the way... As a side note, I managed to fall asleep fine, but as 11 hit the next day, which is when the guy I was talking to said he'd get in, I felt so nervous and anxious I got the chills, was nervously fidgeting non-stop, and was checking my phone seemingly every 5 seconds, then I got a headache. I didn't hear anything until 4. I knew he wasn't going to call me right at 11, but I still got so nervous and anxious.
I've always wanted a motorcycle license but damn it's expensive here. Speaking about Ontario though, I'm going there 2 weeks from now, will probably hang around Toronto/Niagara falls, it's been super long since I last went to Canada Wonderland.

The motorcycle license in Ontario is actually both cheaper and easier to get than the car one.
Looks like they're gonna call an early start to the elections. Get used to the next 70 days of your town looking like this:
I'm actually buying a bicycle engine kit in the next few weeks and turning it into my main transportation. The laws are really grey on bicycle engines so it seems like as long as they don't go over 32, have pedals and reflectors I shouldn't have any issues at all. Really looking forward to it since I can't really get an M1 or bike without a job :v:
So the dude from ServiceOntario got told by the MTO to eat a dick, and when I called they told me to call DriveTest, which went right to viicemail. I've now been told to open a formal request with an analyst at the MTO after writing a brief letter explaining my situation and sending all the documents I have and that the guy from SOnt is going to send me via fax to the ministry, wait a few days, and call. I'm not giving up on this until I either get my license or my money back from MTO for the Humber course I apparently wasn't supposed to take.
The motorcycle license in Ontario is actually both cheaper and easier to get than the car one.
Yeah here the license itself is super expensiove and the insurance is what really kills it. You get some used motorcycle that was well maintained and might as well be new for like 5000$ but then your license and insurance costs you more than a car anyway lmao
Barrie, Ontario: Get into a cab with a machete and a box of recently-purchased ammunition, and the driver ends up being the more dangerous person in the car by virtue of his insane shortcuts and general discontent with making me pay more because of traffic wait times. I gave him a nice tip on account of the fact that he had to drive a dude who looked armed to the teeth through bad traffic.
holy shit, edge is fast

Once it's over 500cc, insurance for a new, young M2 rider is like $5000/year.
Hello fellow Canadians. I've been fucking done with Alberta for years now and luckily since I graduate from university next year, I can finally leave this shitty province and I want the opinions of fellow Canadians of where to go. Ideally I want to live in a large city, but I'm not particularly interested in Toronto and I can't go to Montreal because I can't speak French (thanks Alberta education system for not requiring us to take basic French). Calgary and Edmonton are out of the question as well because I'm done with Alberta. Which pretty much just leaves me with Vancouver. Vancouver isn't an outright bad choice if you can find an affordable apartment, right? Which shouldn't be hard because I'm planning on not having a car for as long as I can avoid it, which will save me around $5000 a year.
Vancouver is pretty dang nice, and to be fair if you can afford 500 a month you can split a real nice place on the North Shore or Burnaby, but on your own you're lookin at at least 900 for anything decent. The city itself isn't expensive, but the housing is. Van also has that big-city feel to it's downtown core and surrounding boroughs, but it's not a big city. Pretty easy to navigate, transit is great, and the people (save the yuppies and hipsters) are generally really swell. Wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Speakin of, yaaaaaaaaaay I remembered my password so I'm back on Facepunch, I missed you Canadians :D Going to pride this Sunday with some homies if anyone in Vancouver wants to meet up and be super awkward internet people and then make up excuses to leave because of said awkwardness
You're probably looking at small apartments around Burnaby, Richmond, coquitlam area then.
Burnaby is my first choice for Metro Van, as it's close enough to a lot of things but you're not isolated from the downtown core by 2 hours of transit. But no really, you can get a decent place in North Van for like 800, it's worth looking into. Ex lived near Lonsdale Quay for a year, nice place and North Van is a neat place. Cozy but there are things there
