Alesis DM8 Pro, yay or nay everybody? Reviews for electronic drum kits that aren't Roland's are rare (or at least how I'm googling they are).
I'm using the DM6, I don't think they're different - My only problems were the slightly insensitive cymbals (really had to smack them to get a quiet response) and the tom voices weren't amazing. Everything else was fine though, picked it up for around £400.
I know this thread has been dead for a while but hopefully this will pull the drummers back out into this thread. I just upgraded my drums from PDP X7s to a Pearl Reference kit. I'm in the market for an electric drum kit, mid range (none of that starter stuff) and I have no clue what to look for. I've been told to get mesh pads instead of pure rubber for better dynamics but that's all I know. Any advice would be great to go wih my research. Lets say I can spend around $1200 usd. Also thread revival! EDIT: Through research and talking with my local retailer I as thinking of getting the roland TD-11V [thumb]http://www.roland.co.nz/assets/images/products/gallery/TD-11KV_gal.jpg[/thumb] http://www.roland.com/products/en/TD-11/ Has a physical bass pedal and all mesh heads for a more realistic feel. Played it in store and felt real nice, also had a nice sound bank. Any other opinions?
