I browsed Facepunch only ONCE at school. The next day I tried to get on it said, "This website has been blocked for reason: Malware/Viruses." My school is retarded.
I remember I was browsing Wikipedia for research on this one project they wanted us to do in the computer lab at my old old school, and then when next week I tried to get on again, and it was blocked for "18+ material". Even though I wasn't looking at anything suggestive or provocative.
In my school they don't really give a fuck about blocking anything, in my free time I just browse fp if I have nothing to do. Sometimes youtube and facebook works too :v: also Ive showed my friend that fp is full of hentai so he won't get an account in school :v:

This shit is the reason I quit my last job. Places like this don't care for their employees one iota. I got in trouble for standing up and stretching. Nine dollars an hour ain't worth that shit.
Surprisingly at my old school, all Wikipedia pages were unblocked and so a few times I tricked people into going on the 'tit fucking' page in lessons
why did I just go look at that??? Am I that retarded?
why did I just go look at that??? Am I that retarded?
Oh trust me, there's far worse
I browsed Facepunch only ONCE at school. The next day I tried to get on it said, "This website has been blocked for reason: Malware/Viruses." My school is retarded.
The only Wikipedia things my school has blocked is the wikipedia page in wikipedia, and the Xbox 360 page. And they used to block the America page because some student edited the page to say "redneck redneck redneck war booze" and so on for about 4000 words.
I browsed Facepunch only ONCE at school. The next day I tried to get on it said, "This website has been blocked for reason: Malware/Viruses." My school is retarded.
my school blocked it for being a porn/shock site (shock , vulgar, something like that)
I hear you, except when I worked at one I was getting $12.50 an hour 40 hours a week full medical benefits Fuck yeah bell mobility still stressful as fuck though
I would kill to work in an environment like that. You guys and your ideas of what a shitty job is, lol. On an unrelated note, I just quit my current job. I believe they did me wrong and possibly treated me wrong to a degree of illegality. I called in sick for a week straight because I had food poisoning. Came back with a doctor's excuse, and then I was told I was unscheduled for the next week as well. I was then sneakily told by the GM that "We only give hours to people that want to work." Should I pursue litigation? Does anyone think I might have a legal case? I honestly feel like I would now be working in a hostile work environment should I have chosen to return to work, and I feel like I wouldn't have had the same hours that I would have had, had I not taken time off due to illness. In foodservice, you kinda don't want to work with a foodborne illness, you know? What company pressures employees into coming into work sick, especially when they do business in foodservice? For the record, in the time I've worked there, I've showed up on time every day and worked my ass off all the way through my shift until my work was done. I frequently had to do other people's work because they were too lazy or too slow. I stood up to management when pressured into serving suboptimal products to customers. I stood up for company policy. Perhaps this might be why? Perhaps I may have seemed a bit dangerous to them? For a company that claims that quality is their recipe, heh. They're lying through their teeth. Nevertheless, I'm seeking employment with other places. I talked my way into what seems to be a nice job down at the boats, working in the air conditioning and all that. Seems like this will go well. I'll be sure to knock on wood, though.
My school doesn't block sites, i always browse FP on breaks, and i do nothing else in break [sp]except eating my food[/sp]
Oh trust me, there's far worse
Such as?
I'm the Occupational Tax Guy for my city; meaning I control the flow of business in the city. Here I am browsing FP at work. Generally my boss doesn't mind as long as I get my work done in a timely fashion. Generally I'm too busy to browse the forums, but when I have slow days I will spread out my work throughout the course of the entire day so I don't find myself twiddling my thumbs. In fact, in our policy book it states that we're allowed to browse the internet/social networking sites and use our phones while on the job as long as it doesn't affect safety performance, job performance, or expose others to offensive/inappropriate material.
I feel like I'm the only one who dares to browse the internet at work, my favourite method is to copy-paste all the text into notepad and change the font to 6 which makes it readable for me but near impossible for managers/fellow co-workers to read. I mostly do this on the really mindless tasks given to me, but on a really busy day I'll be lucky to even find out what the weather is like.
My school has such a shitty internet control that if you start using HTTPS instead of HTTP it lets you go through it.
That's pretty normal, isn't it?
what the fuck why would they just fire you? Just say 'please don't browse X when working'
It's a call center. The turn over is already ridiculous.
PROMOTIONS!
So I forgotten that one of the work PCs were with those 'custom company software', and I accidentally locked it because it said the browser mentioned 'nigger' And I was on the main page
Does anyone think I might have a legal case?
No. If they fired you for calling off sick, you'd have a case.
OP says no fucks were given hopefully this is the case.
I was browsing FP the other day. My boss asked me why Pac-Man represented "funny".
I browse Fp in work daily. No one seems to care and that is totally fine for me too.

I used to work at burger king for a cheapskate franchise and you don't realise how few employee benefits you have until you even get amother low paying job like in a supermarket where you feel as if you're treated somewhat more like a human being
you probably deserved it because come on, why the fuck would you risk going onto sites not relevant to your work?
NO FUN ALLOWED Seriously, do you know what it's like working in a corporate environment? Even in a mid-tier position, there are times I'm tempted to blow my brains out from the monotony. Facepunch is an excellent release.
Back when I went to school, I was sitting in physics on here. Just browsing a thread. Suddenly, my mouse moves on its own and starts typing a message in the reply box, it then posts it. Turns out my physics teacher had a sense of humor.
What did he type?
I browse FP at work. some of my colleague saw a post made by someone with a title " penis architect " and i was called one for the next few days.
Wow and I was the person who suggested giving him that title, So weird that some shit I typed indirectly influenced your life :v:
This fucking song was sung to me daily for a week because of some dipshit stalking me on facepunch :suicide:
Haha, man some of you guys are lucky. I worked in a manual labour job carrying bags of rubble down three flights of stairs in a decaying castle for minimum wage. And risking my life on what I was later told to be an illegally structured scaffold, which is tough to assemble when you're climbing up 35 feet with no ladders and a crippling fear of heights while the whole thing is wobbling because it wasn't secured properly. And to top it off there was no wifi there. [editline]6th August 2013[/editline] And I'm not even Mexican.
My friends who are doctors, had to get up at 4/5am to review their 10 or so patients, running up and down stairs to get blood/stuff, no actual breakfast/lunch, and at 8am had to present all their patients to a medical officer, revise their treatment, represent all their patient again to the specialist at 9am, being called 'dumb stupid liar incompetent' on regular basis for no strong reason, being smacked physically by the specialist for tiny mistakes, repeat these things for 3 times a day, had to continue to work until 11/12pm, and get up tomorrow at 5am. Had to deal with patient's that full of their 'rights' that its impossible to do your job. Even if you're sick, most of the time your boss will not give you a day off, or even half a day off. No saturday/sunday off day. And if you're on-call, you'll start working 5am today until evening tomorrow At the end of the month, you got a decent pay. But guess what? There's nothing that you can buy that can make you happy, nor do you have any time to enjoy those things.
