Physical violence against a child in any form is abuse. There are other ways to punish children for doing things that you deem as bad.

I'll reiterate what I said in the other (later) thread. Don't ever, EVER hurt your children. Unless they are trying to kill you or someone else not even a single spank is justified. There are better parenting techniques than just hitting and hoping for the best. If you feel that hitting your children for whatever reason is ok, please reconsider before getting a child.

I wasn't beaten and in my opinion I'm perfectly fine.
