I feel like people get a more notable accent from their region when they are exposed to many people within their region. Being a internet addict is probably the most bastardising thing for an accent. I live outside of Philly, yet I sound like JC Denton with emotions.

The Marines overpaid my boyfriend over the last 2 years and just noticed. Now they are asking for around 10 grand back. Fucking great, exactly what we needed right now.

Why would they ask for that back ?? ? That's pretty fucked up that they're putting the financial responsibility on him when they obviously fucked it.

It's finance's fuck up, but the goverment can and does take everything back. The goverment always gets theirs. You can write your congressman though, and they can introduce a motion to nullify the debt, but that's about it. Military pay horror stories are everywhere.

I'm not even sure it is still a thing, or ever was a regular thing done. Basically there is no way out of military overpayment collections. They can and will fuck you financially until the debt is repaid by way of withholding your paycheck until the amount is paid by your withheld pay. His S1 (personnel) shop let him know at around 0900 yesterday (the 2nd) and the news hospitalized him with stomach ulcers, it was so upsetting, and I spent the day today trying to calm him down and get him to not just give up on everything.One thing at a time. These kinds of things are 99.9% of the time unfightable. The government gave you more money than they should have. Now they need it back. It's black and white to the people at the US Treasury, they don't give a flying fuck about individual servicemembers. I can't be in person to directly help, and it kills my soul.
