Wooo got a job offer today, gonna try and negotiate for a higher pay but at least I don't have to worry anymore about trying to find work here.
Speaking of jobs, I just sent an application to a tech company that does DNA research as an QA tester. I'm so unbelievably nervous about it, but hey, at least I've sent one, which is a big progress.

DNA research applications*
somedays i am having fun and want to stay at work programming till i pass out
somedays i found out nearly all the math and logic in a simulation program assumes a terrestrial orbit and uses earth constants everywhere
aannnnnd i have to change that to make it generic
[editline]13th October 2017[/editline]
my day started with me commenting out the constants in question, then finding a better way to handle constants for all the 9 major solar system bodies, then compiling and just waiting for errors so i can replace old constants with updated calls based on the currently active/relevant planet
its been 9 hrs and i'm maybe a 1/3 of the way done lol

He's not the provider; he just samples the quality.
Hey guys, we recently pruned a bunch of folks from the gay Discord and if we accidentally removed any of you please rejoin and ask for an assignment.

I tried joining a long time ago and the whole discord was blank, no clue what to do, so I just left. rip

What's your name? You need the 'Employee' tag to gain access to view message history etc.
Me and my SO went our first Pride festival in Atlanta and holy shit was it massive.
Alot of fun but oh god my feet hurt from walking everywhere.
I was talking about "To Kill A Mockingbird" being thrown out of that mississipi school ciriculum and on of my friends said that no one should be upset about it. When I asked them why they just responded with "it's just a book lol"
Needless to say I lost a good deal of respect for them after that. I don't know why but people passing stuff like literature off as "just a book" makes me really angry. I don't even read that often!
I love gay

I'm bi and I haven't posted here in a while
I remember the last time I posted here some months ago I wrote something about being demisexual and only being comfortable starting relationships with friends... Well, I started getting really close to an acquaintance of mine that I've known since primary school.
We never used to hang out very much until recently and after a couple of months, we talked things over and it turns out we both have a strong interest in each other, both emotionally and physically. Yesterday I spent the day with her and she took my v-card as an early birthday present. Even though it was a bit awkward for a couple of reasons, we laughed it off and spent the night together cuddling.
Considering all the things we've been doing lately, we're pretty much in a relationship from my point of view... But she's reluctant to call it one because her last boyfriend was emotionally abusive to her, and she's afraid of being hurt again. She needs some time to think things through, but we're still very, very close. We both agree that even if things don't work out, we'll still be extremely close friends, and honestly... I'm OK with that :)
Just had my interview with northrop, it went really well! All the engineers I interviewed with really liked me, i felt like i hit all the right notes in terms of interests and experience, and i asked good questions. They also talked about the structure and it seemed pretty dope
I’ll be ecstatic if i get an offer
Got accepted into the undergrad bio major, so that's some swell stuff
I have a job interview in four hours, went to bed five hours ago, still haven't managed to put the lid on that insomnia. Fuck my stupid garbage life
Im so lucky to have such a close friend to put up with my shit and share mutual feelings with me. Having someone who you can share everything with, and being so understanding, is the best thing in the world
I wish I knew that feeling
One more month and I'm finally done with college. I have no idea where my life's gonna go after that
I wish I knew that feeling
I'm sorry
People talk about their brothers like they're rivals sometimes, but I'm pretty sure my brother will always be my closest friend.

One day turn around nice!

yeah! they told us that they don't like interviewing everyone and then doing a big hiring committee to see who did the best. instead, they interview ~12 applicants a week and decide who gets an offer before the week ends.
also, it's wild to think that this started 4 weeks ago after talking with an engineer at a career fair. i remember coming out of that career fair and the general sentiment from most people was "that sucked, i should've just not gone since they told us to apply online anyway". just goes to show that connecting with employers in person is still the best way, even if you still need to submit an application online
