World news. If something happens involving gays etc., you could bring it up like "isn't that awful / good?". Obviously don't say that word for word. Mention your opinion on the Australian #notreferendum for same-sex marriage or ask what they think of the situation.

My parents are chinese and the only news they watch is chinese state-owned media, even though they are in America, which rarely covers stuff like that.

I went down today to visit my parents for a race at Irwindale Speedway(3.5 hours of driving). I left to head back home tonight at about 11:30pm. About 1AM my dad called to let me know I had left my laptop bag there, so I had to turn around halfway home and head back to my parents house. Now I’m back there at 2:20AM, and I need to leave for home no later than 5:30AM.

so as mentioned previously once or twice now, the CEO of the company I work for is now the main person I interact with on a day-to-day basis for doing my work and programming and such. anywho, apparently he thinks im really brilliant (lol), partially because I taught myself C++ to a relatively high degree of competence in less than a year. so that's nice and a bit validating, having such a brilliant individual think I'm at least somewhat sapient (compared to what my uni thinks)

the best thing i saw yesterday though was his costume: he went all-out on an Amos (from The Expanse) costume. I don't even know [I]how[/I] he did it, but he managed to get the correct fake tattoos to pull the Amos costume off too. The best part of seeing this was knowing he's a huge fan of the Expanse, and then getting him to agree that they nail the future of humanity in space. I was grinning like an idiot. Also, I was the only person to recognize it so maybe that's more points in my favor :v:

now just to invent an epstein/fusion drive so we can fly around the solar system with ease
