As a matter of curiosity, how many of y'all are gearheads/car guys?
Just as a census type thing, since i feel like any stable relationship requires an understanding as to why i'm spending tens of thousands of dollars on LS parts and jaguars, and i kinda wanna know how likely that is.
Agree for "Supercharger whine makes me hard" and disagree for "i have own a honda civic and i see nothing wrong with that"
I dragged a $100 porsche out of the mud and am making it go, I drive a big V8 RWD body-on-frame sedan, and I despise everything econobox. If you're gonna spend hours and hours of your life in a car, why settle for one that merely gets you from point A to B instead of one that gets you from point A to B with a huge grin on your face?
Smiles per gallon are worth their weight in gold.
i fucking NEVER post here anymore but i feel good about my dumb face so i wanna share

i miss my honda civic
great mileage, only ~30 USD to fill the tank and STICK SHIFT
i eventually killed it due to negligence
take care of your fucking cars, guys
[sp]says inebriaticxp as he ignores the check engine light for the umpteenth time[/sp]

my "maint required" light has been stuck on for like 4 months
I've checked for codes with my reader, and there's nothing. Which is odd. And I take good care of my car and keep an eye on things, changing the various fluids as required and shit, and I've not noticed anything odd. So it's just stuck on.
This was after I had to replace the upstream O2 sensor, except I didn't technically replace it since I had to have mr buffman straightcrush do it for me (gosh was that attractive)
its a Honda CRV tho so it's effectively indestructible, the thing has been across the US literally 8 times and has never needed major maintenance

past crazy roommate did this, her car literally ran near-dry on oil due to her negligence and she never noticed until it locked up somewhere in the cascades

This is my boyfriend. He killed his piece of shit Saturn this way.
Honestly that’s a good thing ‘cause I was glad to see that garbage go.

The "maint req'd" thing isnt an actual warning, it just shows up every x miles for some reason
In my Civic, you turn it off by holding the odometer button thing down for 20 seconds while the car is in 'run', then keep holding it down whike you turn the car on
SAAB 9-5 b235r best vehicle except the fuckin dumbass rust on the wheel arches and the rear bagagedoor fuckin up. Somehow bagagedoor is actually Armageddon according to autocorrect :v:
I don't have a car cuz driving scares me

the middle pedal is the rocket booster
My car is an extension of myself. Losing it would be like losing a sibling. I put so many miles on it already.
They’re gonna bury me in this car I love it so much.

Had a license since I was 16, haven't touched a car since. :v:

Replaced all the vaccum lines, tweaked the ignition timing and such. Managed to sneak it out at 2am and it's like a new car. I was having fuel pressure problems for so long and it was just the fucking manifold vaccum line that was the problem. All that time and effort and it was 25 cents worth of rubber hose that was to blame.
Oh well, at least the car's in good health again.
seeing as cars are currently being chatted, oh my god. I want this so bad http://www.milweb.net/webvert/a2798/91847
It's a fuckin beaut.
Winter is gonna be rough on him.

I regret not learning to drive while I was younger, when I had time and the financial support to do so
I was too scared of cars and of how I could possibly fuck up that I just didn't want to get in the driver's seat.
