Circumcision on girls? Ok
Piercings are NBD. They can heal over. I think its fine (if the child wants them) when they are 6-7.
Since when did parents start forcefully pierce their children? I thought the child chooses whether or not to get her ear pierced.
It really doesn't matter because getting your ears pierced hurts less than getting a shot(I've had mine pierced before) and they heal up usually completely if you don't wear piercings. If the parents are forcing their child to wear piercings it's kind of fucked up, but most little girls will ASK for their ears pierced.
Since when did parents start forcefully pierce their children? I thought the child chooses whether or not to get her ear pierced.
They do it at a very young age, like at 2.
I never understood why parents would do this sort of thing, it sounds unethical and barbaric. Inflicting pain on a child to make her look "pretty". How about let the child grow up and let them decide whether or not they want to have their ears pierced. I sometimes see children old enough to be in preschool with earrings. :X What do you guys think? [editline]30th January 2011[/editline] It's like circumcising girls/boys when they're young.
If you're going to circumcise, it's best to to it when they're young, actually.
It's like circumcising girls/boys when they're young.
what is the goddamn problem with this
what is the goddamn problem with this
Why do it? Also, congrats on 17k posts!
Well to be fair female cirumcision is only done in backwater shitholes where people believe gays eat each other's shit (africa), so that doesn't really sount in the western world.
Uganda is a wonderful Christian country, please do not speak badly to our people. Sorry for English I am Uganda. [editline]31st January 2011[/editline] and they do eat the poopoo. [editline]31st January 2011[/editline] we have pictures of it. [editline]31st January 2011[/editline] it is sickness. [editline]31st January 2011[/editline] they also do something called the anal licking.
the kid wont remember the pain when they're older and if they do it wont be significant get over it thanks bye
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_genital_cutting
i'm not understanding this.
the kid wont remember the pain when they're older and if they do it wont be significant get over it thanks bye
The problem doesn't lie with the pain but with the fact that parents treat their children like fashion accessories

My gf has been trying to get hers to close up because her ears grew and now the holes aren't symmetrical. She's had them since she was 6.
Not exactly painful, and not normally just the parent's choice. In fact, it's usually the opposite. Parent's most of the time, don't want them getting piercings.
As far as circumcision its usually a religious thing, because parents choose their childs beliefs for them at a young age, as for me I'm keeping every religion away from my child
It takes an idiot to make a big deal out of ear piercings.
-snip double post-
Well, my mum made me get my ears pierced when I was pretty damn young, I screamed cause it hurt like fuck. I hope by now they've made piercing methods more efficient or something, cause I want to get a lip piercing in a few years (since a teenager yelling like hell in pain is very appealing I'm sure) And I didn't even want it done, still don't want my earrings but mum bitches at me to keep em in ._.

Try to cut a female's, "what the fuck are you doing you sick fuck."
Dumb x 20 I thought I was on facepunch, not vampirefreaks.
Right, parents treating their children like dolls or objects simply because they have no ability to decide for themselves.
I've seen commercials for that show. "Do others think it's wrong? Yes. Do I think it's wrong? No." Seeing that most of the mothers in the show are ugly/misshapen/fat/all of the above, they are simply trying to live through their children. Still its bad imo.
Gender socialization, duh
So a hole in the ear that completely heals over is comparable to cutting off someone's foreskin? News to me. [editline]31st January 2011[/editline] By the way, getting your ear pierced doesn't hurt.
Try to cut a mans genitals everyone says "go ahead". Try to cut a female's, "what the fuck are you doing you sick fuck."
Because it really is mutilation. [editline]30th January 2011[/editline]
So a hole in the ear that completely heals over is comparable to cutting off someone's foreskin?
Strawman argument.
Strawman argument.
Pointing out a fallacy without saying anything else is also bad arguing. So if you want me to get into this then, yeah it's useless but it doesn't do any harm. If you can give me a reason to believe it does harm then you win. That's the core of the argument right? How does a pinprick, liken to the feeling of a booster shot, do harm? It's like doing the kid's hair and pulling too hard for a second. It's so stupid. The guy used a needle with a notch at the back that the ring fits on, so it goes through the hole immediately after the needle itself, with the needle. Even when he accidentally lost the hole, and had to re-open it with the blunt ring, the pain was completely bearable. Eyebrows have a lot of nerves too.

I'm pointing out that it's retarded and degrading to the child. That's just the way I see it. >.>
