he certainly made her way more famous than she already was, especially with the non white crowd
but really taking what he's saying in the song literally is stupid, it's all art and his work is full of metaphors and satire. It's pretty obvious that he's intentionally acting as a caricature of himself sometimes, and he's taking advantage of his huge celebrity status to do something interesting with it
his life and public image for the last few years has basically been performance art. this video especially kinda proves that

but i doubt that had he not done "imma let you finish" she wouldn't have platinum'd three albums in a row in the first week of release

well, after that she was all over the news and has basically stayed there since then, just getting an mtv award would never have that much of an impact. you can say what you think would've happened otherwise and she could very possibly have been very successful anyway but really at the end what he did really helped both of their careers a ton. It gave her career a big boost (and fit her image well because she got to be the innocent pretty girl) and helped kanye stay relevant.
