been working on a video placeholder for the music on my youtube channel, any criticism?
The letters after AVA are hard to read

A quick poster for some band on facebook. Opinions?

It looks quite nice, just use a nicer font for the text, the Lily Red text is fine, just the main information looks a bit boring
and make the main text a bit smaller, and perhaps make the background a tad more visible
The link looks shoehorned in
You can make the tour dates text a bit smaller so it fits better and have a bit more spacing between each letter. Also, the edges in lily red look a little rough...
yay! i got my first work placement! :D gonna be going to Honey Creative for 3 months (but we don't know which 3 months yet). they're mostly packaging based (which suits me!) and ahhh, i'm so excited
this is some of their work

Agg, that sounds exciting. I decided to go for architecture instead to challenge my self. Starting my 2nd year (first year in the faculty) this coming fall, super nervous because everyone says its incredibly hard. I hope I enjoy it, because I KNOW I enjoy logo work / branding.
Been making wallpapers as practice:

I liked it until the bottom. Very basic gradients generally (in this usage) should always be avoided - it looks tacky a lot of the time. I would be much better if it was just the text or something else was done to it.

the first one is okay i guess
the second one is just a complete rip of breaking bad
the third one is pretty awful, mostly because of that font
but the main thing is that none of them are very interesting. it's just a word or two on a plain background. it's not conveying anything, it's not got any idea/emotion/anything behind it.

generally it's pretty alright, but the top text shouldn't be so close to the edge, and neither should the dates be so close to the right. especially reading NYC looks like it's about to fall off the page. i'm not suggesting you put it all in the centre, but don't push it quite so close to the edges.
Here's a new logo/Mascot I've been working on (this is the most complicated logo I've ever done, the person who wants the logo was very specific):

Comments/Criticism welcome per usual :~)
That's not going to scale down well at all
That's not going to scale down well at all
Some of the things like the fingers and the space between the boards on the barrel, yeah.
It's for a brewery, so they'd be putting this on beer bottles. Hard to make anything scale down perfectly at that size but they were really specific about the "mousekateer" mascot
TBQH, if I removed the barrel I could increase the size of the mascot and scaling wouldn't really be a problem. They wanted the barrel, but I think both of the "smoking barrels" from the guns gets the point across plenty

I feel that the S in "Barrels" is more slanted than the S in "Smoking". It's a bit confusing when I look at it.
Also, I think the barrel should stay, imo.

Both of the S's are the same size, and the bend should be the same on both sides. Now that you've pointed it out though, I see it too; I'm not sure why it's like that
Once I get some feedback from this guy, I might try a version without small capitals, and see if that fixes it.
Honestly, not a fan. It reminds me too much of a flash banner ad, rather than something that would appear logically on a beer bottle.
For some reason when I think beer bottle, I think that graphics with a strong contrast between at least two colours would look good
[...]It reminds me too much of a flash banner ad, rather than something that would appear logically on a beer bottle.
This. Maybe add an outline to all the elements to take it out of that weird Flash-esque look. That or add more detail like fur on the mouse or cloth/metal material where it belongs. Right now it looks cartooney in an undesirable way to me.
Honestly, not a fan. It reminds me too much of a flash banner ad, rather than something that would appear logically on a beer bottle.
Didn't want to get too involved with detailing/texturing because if they don't like the main idea of the logo it'll be wasted time
If they like the idea I'll have to think of something... but I couldn't find a single beer logo with a mascot that wasn't an illustration. That coupled with the fact that this is the first (complex) mascot I've ever made in Illustrator is making this a really hard project
I've made a revision of my personal website's logo (being built). I'm a mechanical engineering student and while I'm not going into aerospace I put the jet in there for the time being because that's what most people think when they hear "heavy engineering" (maybe not you but whatever it's a placeholder). Anyway what do you guys think?

Could use some C&C here:

the images are too complex and the tag line is far too condensed to be able to read it properly
otherwise i like it, clean + modern

actually the kerning on all of it is pretty awful :v:

The gloss effect on the LASAE text is a bit tacky, as is the reflection of the icon. I think the icons should be more simple - perhaps just a black silhouette of the film roll/camcorder or something with an added touch, such as an 'L' or something, I dunno
Stuff like reflections should usually be avoided in the logo itself, as it ishard to reproduce that look in simpler formats such as pure B&W (for internal letterheads for example). I don't think the gloss on the text is bad though. It might look better if it was just an implied gloss via a strokejust being there instead of a full on gradient. Though then it begs the question - what is the purpose of such an element?
Reflections and stuff are more suited to the logo application rather than the logo itself. I.E. an itunes store icon or something on the website that enhances the "base" logo without directly altering it versus the logo itself having it.

and also while theyre all well designed and look like beer bottles you'd see they're all pretty uninspired and boring
