Also, I really don't like the lines between the tagline and logo. They are so subtle that it almost seems like a visual glitch than an intended element. Plus - it isn't needed at all. Implied lines already form between the elements of the logo inside the negative space. You don't need an actual line there to convey that.
and also while theyre all well designed and look like beer bottles you'd see they're all pretty uninspired and boring
they were just a small project for the people displaying to have on their table, nothing more. sorry that this seems so uninspired to you
We're having our end of year exhibition here instead of on campus like every other year.
Like a big warehouse type place. Can't wait

I made this cause I was bored and I like Coolvetica.

Coolvetica is a terrible font :(
I like it :/
It's really clumsy and unbalanced and the kerning is pretty fucked. It could be an alright font if some real work was done on it.
Let's Not argue about what font I used.

they just look like every other stock standard beer is all, they don't really stand out
they're not meant to! i said that they were just to be used to put on the tables of the students exhibiting and that they're meant to just look like beer bottles, with a relevant design to the student i.e. Jennie Spiller does trampolining so she was Jumping Jesus
I'd buy a beer called Jumping Jesus...
they just look like every other stock standard beer is all, they don't really stand out
This isn't really a negative thing, it means that they really hit the mark. They were attempting to make a label for beer, and they managed to make something that looks like the standard beer label. For school this is a good thing. Now if an employer asked you to design a beer label for his brand, you would want it to have some distinguishing / unique / extravagant feature.
It was being used as an exhibit so why would you not want it to stand out?
Here's a recent t-shirt design I thought of. It's somewhat of a satire shirt, taking two things supposedly hipsters love, Helvetica and triangles.

I made this screenshot title for a user who was 'making' a GMOD Tron Machinima when he asked for one. Let's say he didn't enjoy it.

I had a good laugh out of it.
I gave up on the beer logo, the guy wanted me to make it even more complicated and it would have looked awful; someone else on the site will have to make it, he is asking for way too much.
It was great practice for the shape builder/width tool though, incredibly useful stuff. That's all I really wanted out of that project.
Well his idea for the design is flawed, a mouse holding 2 smoking guns is way too childish for beer
Made this for one of my brother's Reason Refills ...

Did you follow a tutorial? It's looking juuuuust like one I saw once
Good-looking nonetheless
Nah I didn't follow a tutorial but I did place it identically to their official title shot.
I'd buy a beer called Jumping Jesus...
I want to make a sweet logo of Jesus riding a motorcycle jumping a shark dressed as the Fonz.
I would buy that beer on principle.
Maybe i will try it out tonight when i get home from another hellish night in the kitchen.
Made it when I was bored.

Why disagree?
Here's a logo I did for some social marketing company or something:

I can't seem to move away from simple stuff - I can never do, or even think up something complex like the Starbucks logo for example :(
How should I get into more intricate stuff? I'm not great at art but I don't think you need to be good at drawing to be able to design things, am I right?
You don't need to be able to draw to make complex designs. Just look at examples of complex designs and try copy certain aspects of them.

For the scraped and wrinkled background find a picture of crumpled paper or scrapes and make an overlay layer and edit it in.

It's just an overlay, look up how to put on an overlay in photoshop or summin'

Being good at drawing helps but is in no way necessary. The best companion a graphical designer has is a program to make vectors in and a camera to take photos of things to trace for their design, oh and pen and paper of course to scribble down the different ideas.
Personally I think your logo is pretty good as is. The only problem is that it has that Facebook ring to it with the slightly cartoony font, the kind of blue colour and the speech-bubble. So I think it's neat and nice but doesn't distinguish itself well from others.
Well his idea for the design is flawed, a mouse holding 2 smoking guns is way too childish for beer
you obviously haven't seen many beer bottles. The art on them doesn't really have limit.

I feel like it's ever so slightly slanted. Was that intentional?

The first one really conveys the "social" message, a bubble of text. Somewhat clever.
Don't worry about always making simple stuff, what's important is that it's easily identifiable and it can be linked with the product it's representing.

I could have sworn that you referenced work from video copilot for that banner. It's even more awesome now that you didn't
Made a simple japanese flag in a very worn style.

the red circle does not match the white flag area, you need more of a torn look in my opinion not just a worn color look.
