The drop shadow effect on the red circle doesn't make sense.
Ditch it!
I feel like it's ever so slightly slanted. Was that intentional?
That's just the font (Eras Demi)

The flag needs to be bolder, in fact it all need's to be bolder in my mind
What would be awesome is if the worn scratches inside the flag actually subtly made some kind of shape. Because my eye is drawn to that area attempting to find meaning in the negative space. Not philisophically, but literally - similar to how the mind likes to make shapes out of cloud shapes.
Would be a pretty cool thing to "exploit"
Right now it just seems like random scratches, which it kind of is.
I promise to stop shitting these out now:

I can't seem to move away from simple stuff - I can never do, or even think up something complex like the Starbucks logo for example :(
How should I get into more intricate stuff? I'm not great at art but I don't think you need to be good at drawing to be able to design things, am I right?
Not bad, but I feel the kerning on the font needs some work (especially between the first 'o' and 'c' ). Also try experimenting with moving the point on the speech bubble.

It looks like when you zoom in on pixel work in a web browser. It really hurts my eyes.

Let's stop derailing the thread, it's been too quiet for a while now.
I'm going to post a "walktrough" of a logo creation process (the way I do it). It might be helpful for someone.
It was being used as an exhibit so why would you not want it to stand out?
it wasn't meant to stand out. it was meant to look like the student had a bottle of beer on their table, and only upon closer inspection was it realised it was actually a custom beer bottle label

The crown over the O thing has been done by crown paints:

So you might want to be careful with that.

hahaa I'm sure crowns on top of letters has been done many times before, particularly in jewellery stores :v:
Some logos I made for my media class in Grade 12. I've improved pretty substantially since. The reason there are 4 ZWITT logos is because we were told we had to take the name and make a logo for either snowboarding or cuisine and I was toying with both.

These are really good! I like the last Zwitt logo (The Blue one) It fits the snowboarding theme which I think you were going for.
I don't know were else to say this but someone should make out a wallpaper out of this lovely Fight Club quote:

Even a black-white text would work ok.
Just sayin'.
Make it yourself.

Enjoy mate.
That's what I'm talking about. Thanks!
However, if you can make it 1360x768 I would love you even more [img]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/heart.png[/img]
Done, updated my post.
So, I'm working on this banner for a magazine, what you think?

Did some logo mock-ups for a client, what do you guys think?
if anything i like the bottom left best, but you need to sort out your anti aliasing
i don't like the handwritten ones much at all, the 5/S looks really disjointed, and i don't like the little join in the 0/O either
and the top left one i don't understand why you've split it in half, it doesn't have anything to do with soup/50up :P
so going on that i would say the bottom left is the most relevant, and i like the type for the 50up/soup
i'm interesting in the company too, could you tell me a little about it? :v:

Thanks for the feedback :)
I don't really know anything about the company, this was sort of like an audition task for me and 2 other people to decide who he hires to design the website for this company. In the brief he said that the company will be selling fresh locally produced soups, baguettes and lunchtime snacks, and that he wanted to aspire to be like innocent drinks and http://poncho8.com/ in terms of branding and style
so is it called 50up.co or soup.co, 'cause i'm getting mixed messages here :P
