Yes I need to fix that typo, aswell as the Lazore mentioned. But is there anything related to the design itself and not the typos which I should change (except the curves)?
Well, personally I think everything is horrible about it to be honest.
Why is there a diamond pattern in the background? What is those white lines doing there? why is the flag split up and weird inside an ice cube inside a drop of water? Why not have a nice and completed flag that just follows the drop shape? Why is "rent kildevann" in a completely different, yet just as thick, font than "Norvann"? And why does "rent kildevann" stick outside the edge of "norvann" and 0,7L stick outside the edge of "Rent kildevann"?
Any effect you put in a design should serve a purpose in order to make the message more clear for readers. If it does not serve a purpose and is only there for show, then you should in 99/100 cases delete it.
Hmm, well I'm very bad at Illustrator which sorta made the flag all wierd (and basically every line there is), and the pattern is there because it had to be there to follow the assignment, the lines is something I planned to remove anyways. I'm not really sure at all why I chose to have the text not align properly, and the "ice cube" was a failed attempt (apparently) of making a shine in the drop.
Again I still have very little to no clue on how to use Illustrator, and basically just tried something. Since this is my first assignment most of it wont matter, but in the end I really like to get som C&C just to get better at what ever I'm doing.
And I personally haven't learned to much about making a product etc. I really appreciate your input though, even though it might be harsh for me that you tell me the whole thing sucks. But in the end it sorta gives me a better understanding of what I can do to avoid making shit and instead spend my time actually making something doable.

Google "norwegian Flag". Trace the flag by making rectangles. Voila, perfect flag. Then you can just move and re-scale it.
You were forced to have a shit pattern in your design? Specifically what did the task say? You can just copy pasta the Norwegian version.
Shine is never transparent. If something is shiny it's bright and clear and it overrides anything else. If you want it to shine but still have some visibility then you need to fade out the shine with a gradient. But that would be odd for a drop of water. Just make a white half-circle instead and keep the flag visible by showing enough of it.

The pattern had to be a swatch, (basically when you select some specific shapes and just drag it into the swatches menu)
The part about communication had to be given at deadline, but I think it's somewhat dumb to do that right away considering we have had very little about the communication part really.

I've had to start learning Illustrator and it's such a headache. Even when I look up how to do something online, it never works right in the program.
Like something as simple as moving a point where it tells me to use the direct select tool and drag the point or segment, but when I do it, it moves the entire object.
make sure you click on the point first, then click and drag. if you just click, most of the time it will just move the whole thing
when you first click it the point itself should look slightly different (although i can't recall it right now) and then you will be able to drag it
Ok well in my computer graphics class we have to come up with a bunch of concepts of logos for a company and I guess I'm doing like a contact/glasses company or something.
This is I think the third thing I've come up with and it seems to fit the bill compared to other similar real life businesses who do the same thing.

What do you guys think and what would you suggest? I think I need to round off those boxy edges but that's all I'm thinking at the moment.

When you click a point it should become a white square as well as showing the two anchor points for that point.

A tip for you, instead of just making a line and choosing the thickness, make the shape itself by making a closed loop of the lines and with a colour fill.
or, make the line, choose the thickness, then Object > Path > Outline Stroke
drawing a line gives you much more control over it's thickness than drawing it as a shape from the start
[editline]27th September 2011[/editline]
and choose the rounded option for the end of your stroke

i really wouldn't recommend drawing it as a shape from the beginning. you'll find it difficult to keep a uniform thickness, and there's just no need to.
draw it as a stroke, play with the thickness and the corners, then Outline Stroke

Or draw a line, round the end, find a good stroke thickness and then use the Width Tool for everything else.
Delicious and easily editable.
I really like it! I think the 12/R is fine, but I'd make the blue colour deeper and the 12/r more crimson as it currently looks a bit too brown
I'll look into that, thanks.
posterrrrr
[t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/poster_so_far.png[/t]
I was working in RGB because I was an idiot and when I printed it out the colours looked different (even better actually) also they massive space in the center will be occupied by a wrist band once I know what those look like. Also, can anyone tell me where I could fit some logos in (i'm remaking the logos so that they fit the colour scheme)
dont like rising suns (hypocritical considering my very old work), plain solid colours work so much better
the angled writing both being on different angles clashes with eachother
the bottom line is too close to the bottom

I had a bunch of propaganda posters up while I was working and rising suns looked nice on them and thanks, i'll move the bottom line up a bit. About the angles though, do you suggest the same angle or no angles for one/ both of them?
if you're gonna do angles keep them both on the same angle. you could try it without too, see which works better
would the grunge that you put on the edges of your posters work? or will that be overkill?

how are they looking guys
(keep in mind they are 600x600 which is the required size, but they'll mostly be shown at 100x100 ish
hey guys its D3, I made an alt (don't ban me just yet) just to get some opinions on something I'm doing right now. Didn't post on the shirts thread because nobody usually goes there...
Anyway here it is

The turtle is a raw scan.
I have to fill the spikes, but until now, what do you think?
Yeah, getting banned from here was pretty good, I guess my productivity level suddenly raised, so I don't want to stay here for much time..
Everyone uses that god damn crumpled paper texture!!!

this is how it looks right now. The paper texture is paper lol it's a scan
and I thought about making the spikes like crystal, but I don't know how that'd work because I never got to draw a crystal spike. And if I actually did, I'd rather do it on paper since I feel more comfortable. If the crystal thing doesn't work, I'll probably fill it with the same effect I used in the other 2 designs, the stars thing
[editline]29th September 2011[/editline]

comparison
ok the stars are attracting too much attention, i'll have to find a way to have a lighter version
suggestions?

ok g'morning
I arranjed the floating pyramids late last night, since they were too many and that would just cause distraction.
I also tried coloring the rest of the pyramids with tones of gray, as you can see, but I don't know if it's ok or not. I'd still like to have a crystal effect, but I don't know how...
[thumb]http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Sh06gX2xum8/TUx0UoMf9cI/AAAAAAAAA2o/GY9IDqw_Tm4/s1600/CrystalsModel.jpg[/thumb]
Right now all I can think of is that your crystals are too uniformly colored. All of the sides look like solid shapes, when they need to let through the lighting and shades of other crystals.
Try to think of them as translucent glass. You can see through but it distorts what you see as well.
i also don't see why they have to be so noisy, like your skull image
crystals are clear and clean, not gritty
are you referring to the black ones? I don't know, I always liked that effect haha
and the translucent effect is my problem.. I'll draw it once in paper to see if I get it, then I'll try it vectorial. Problem is that none of the images has a white background, or it wouldn't offer much contrast
edit: and these stupid crystals don't look like anything in illustrator hnnnng
Hey guys! I'm making a gladiator dueling game and decided to whip up a logo for it.

The problem is, it doesn't look very good to me. Any designery tips from you designery fellas?
doesn't seem very gladiator to me. try another font
try and roman font, rather than a sans serif
[editline]29th September 2011[/editline]
or a good slab

ok so I tried this. It looks ok but it could be better. If I do this in all of them it would turn out really confusing I bet..
What do you think?
Okay, I took your advice to heart.

Looks waaaay better, but I think I need to refine the blood a little more. Any tips?
