Well, it would be odd to have graphical elements for a tribal-specialized tattoo studio that weren't tribal.
Also, spot the Pringles.
Logo I made for my year of architecture, or environmental design, as my school calls it.

Its got an 'e', a 'd', a '2' (or II), its a pencil (for drafting), and it kind of looks like a domed building with columns.
Is that Calibri? WHY?
Is that Calibri? WHY?
it fits nicely though
I'm a firm believer (cheap bastard) in using the fonts that come with windows haha. Mainly because I only design as a hobby and don't have the money to waste on actual nice fonts. I also believe that arial, calibri, etc. can be made to work. Its all a design question.
I think fonts like Arial and Calibri can work but the fact that they're massively default fonts sticks out to me and I immediately think less of whatever logo they're used in, dunno why :(

make comic sans look good :D
make comic sans look good :D
I have always wanted to try and do that.
But it's impossible. Although personally I don't have that big "Comic Sans is absolutely fucking terrible" attitude. It's just a font that's useless since there are so many better fonts out there.
I do good?
it fits nicely though
It does, but because it's the default body font for office 2007 and 2010 it just breaks it for me.
There are many good, free fonts out there, you should visit sites like:
myfonts.com or dafont.com or fontsquirrel.com
rip comic stans
Not very impressive compared to some of the ridiculous stuff in this thread, but I've been working on a cover for my new album:

The red seems a bit out of place with the orange. Might wanna tone it down a bit.

Comic Sans is the cancer that is killing typography

Hey guys, can you help me find a good tutorial for vector tracing things?
I need to vector this logo

but I can only find guides for live tracing
You... You draw over it with the pen tool and/or use shapes.
That's it.
No need to be rude, the most I've done with illustrator so far is open it :v:
why does everyone think we're being rude when we're just saying it how it is?
there's no magic button to "vectorise" images, you either use Live Trace (which is mostly shit) or you do it by hand. that's really all there is to it.
I was expecting a less condescending answer
I was expecting a less condescending answer
What do you want us to say?
I told you what to do and what to use to do it. I gave you information about absolutely everything there is to it.
I did not look down on you, I was however surprised that you would look up a tutorial for tracing. Because it's in the name, tracing. Drawing over.
It's not really the act itself that confuses me, it's just that I have zero experience with the tools of illustrator
u click stuff ya dummy - for ur health

yeah I'm slowly getting the hang of it
I guess a better question would be if there's a (third party) place that explains the basic tools in Ai
edit: ninja'd with the answers
thanks guys
just use flash ya dum dum - for ur HEALTh
I once downloaded a full guide for illustrator, in video format, let's see if I can find it again
oh here it is
http://www.downtr.co/438965-total-training-adobe-illustrator-cs5-essentials-video-tutorial-with-ebook-guide-and-project-files-95860-mb.html
The first part is missing but it's the basic of the basics i bet, so it shouldn't be hard to look on youtube first.
