would something like one of v's daggers on a powder barrel work as a "witty" minimalistic poster?
minimalist doesn't have to be witty necessarily, and one of the biggest mistakes is interpreting minimalist as symbolist. A symbol will definitely help in drawing the viewer into reflection of the poster, but it isn't necessary. See if you can find a way to display the "essence" of the movie. This is just my momentary opinion as I have done a few symbolist posters my self and they worked well.
So, I made this logo for a construction company. I took a little inspiration from a logo that was posted here a few pages back, comments? [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25318683/logo.jpg[/thumb]
and a couple of different applications as requested by the client [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25318683/logo2.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25318683/logo3.jpg[/thumb] [editline]asdasdasd[/editline] Wow, nice automerge.
the perspective looks a bit off to me
it feels like the right building top should be more in line with the other, like this i guess [editline]10th November 2011[/editline] in case its hard to tell what i did:

I'll charge the client 100 dollars for all I mentioned before, but I'm still not quite sure how much should I charge for the logo...
thats why its always good to get public feedback BEFORE something is finalised
Well, rushed the fix. I intended to post it in here, but the client was in a rush so... It's partly my fault too, I've been pushing back the making of this logo for a few days now, currently in an internship, barely have time for anything :v: [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25318683/logo3.jpg[/thumb]
Don't see how you could ever have so bad time you couldn't have the time to move two lines. Especially not if you have the time to say you don't have the time to do so. :>
super super super bored apologies to those of you over exposed to the skull design (the blu-ray still isn't out, so there's always time to tinker)
that's too much grunge even for me i love the back but the front needs a bit of cleaning up, like that big smudge at the back of the skull is so large it's distracting
u think so? i was going for realistic grunge, not just a sloppy screenprint. something that indicates the films age by looking like a poster that's been in an alleyway for a few years, i think it would work as a slipcover, with the clean actual cover underneath

As long as it isn't the main design then I'm diggin the idea.
those eyes look weird. Are you trying to make like, normal eyes or eyeballs in the skull? Anyway, maybe add some shadows in there to make it more tridimensional EDIT: oh wait you're just playing with 2 colors, and since theres no halftones or anything, I don't know
Young is the audacity of good. But young, also not is what is worth superstition of worship. I remember someone said that such a few words, young what of it? Have skill you old show me! Say this, although there is jealousy and envy of mental suspected, but is part of a truth. For a no longer have the youth is concerned, after all he was young; And for those who still young romantic affair of wandering people, they don't fully understand the life of massive, the weight of the life. A lot of things, only experience can forget; Many people, only http://www.belstaffjackets2011.com days long waiting to see faithful evil. Just like human Belstaff Jackets appear, to the earth's meaning, for a long time, have no doubt given positive conclusion. Why so? Because the earth only to have thought of human evaluation, only human itself. Give yourself score, even if there are many mistakes, finally or good. If the Belstaff Bags pig have the thought, they give the human assessment must be a zero; If flowers and trees have the thought, they give the human comments must be executioner. But, no matter how human wisdom, if do not know how to cherish, one day, the earth will come to an ultimate punishment. That is whether you are young or old or everyone don't do boring dispute, westerners confession to god, orientals report with yan. So, who can say human appear, is good or bad? What would you guys prefer to own hypothetically, a slipcover where the case slides out vertically (no top or bottom) or a slipcover where the case slides out of the side?
The side. If I understood the question right. The ones that open on the top and bottom always get the paper inside all work out cause there's too much open space for the paper to get damaged. Can you change the eyes on the poster to something more like this: or is it something that needs to look the way you made in on the cover because of the movie? Because the eyes really look different to the rest of the style. And also they're incorrect. But as to the grunge, I really like the grunge effect the way it is.
I don't like Superdry now. I'm in the middle of making a logo, and I'm like 'hey let's have just some simple Helvetica Neue for the text' and I do it and then I look at it, and suddenly 'goddamnit now it looks like I copied Superdry's logo'

Yours just feels like they don't belong there
idk they look like they belong to me, plus any fan of the film knows whats up and wouldnt give it a second thought
idk they look like they belong to me, plus any fan of the film knows whats up and wouldnt give it a second thought
I haven't even seen the movie and I knew what was up with the eyes. Making them into cartoony round circles wouldn't work if you ask me, but you can't know for absolutely sure before you try it.
yeah but im not gonna try that because that would be way too much alteration to an iconic image [editline]13th November 2011[/editline] i know u guys are giving suggestions but that is one thing that absolutely is not going to change, so
the eyes look fine
the eyes are alright, except maybe the eyelids are a bit too thin
I for Interior Design, U for Urbanism, A for Architecture, L for Landscape. Plus the three foundational / primary forms.
Really good logo. Not so keen on the font though, it looks somewhat blurry and badly made. I get it that it's meant to collaberate with the logo, but I'm not feeling it, it's like it's supposed to be a round and clean font, but it looks slightly jagged and uneven and gives that "not really different, but not really the same" look. But that's my opinion. And I know how much people hate my taste for fonts.
I'll charge the client 100 dollars for all I mentioned before, but I'm still not quite sure how much should I charge for the logo...
You didn't discuss price before you started working...? What?
i should really learn html more so i can actually make a website for myself
It's my first poster ever. It's from a song and don't be too hard on me. [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1275475/posterLoL.png[/thumb] [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1275475/poster2.png[/thumb]
