he said he wanted to convert a line to a fill (shape) and u said use the paint bucket!!! so im sorry if i assumed otherwise!!!
im not really into the direction that this is going. I'd keep the chocolate simple, add a few reflections and shades so it doesnt look like a black man, and then (i think i 've read something like this above) make the yellow guy look like a tinfoil wrap or something but you know, what you have right now is clear
yeah maybe give the yellow a bit more grunge, maybe overlay some crumpleyness to differentiate it between the smoothness of chocolate. i still think some more unified globs would work, not like the way you draw it now. definitely get rid of the squares too.

Maybe have a bite taken out of the chocolate man's leg or something. If people don't know what it is at first and then they see a bite, it might click with them that it's chocolate.
globs should be more exaggerated instead of uneven, like each one is a perfect glob quick example but contouring the body obviously
I think that would be too uniform and lose the whole gross impact of it. Right now it's a fat sweaty fuck of a body, if the globs are uniformely round it'll just be a repeating pattern that causes an order that makes it more nice than the chaos of everything melting unevenly. Maybe some simple patterns or something can do the trick, I'll experiment a bit. Thanks for all this wonderful criticism guys. I appreciate it.
try grunging up the melted bits some more
And I'll call it a day. Gotta work on the DVD cover and the abstract Circle-Triangle-Square drawing. Gotta deliver this by mail tomorrow. Deadline is Sunday, but obviously the last day the mail goes to reach that is on friday. make it darker and less poop-ish
Someone suggested making it look like the yellow guy is the wrapping, that was a good idea
I tried. Made it too busy and removed the contrast.

Okay I have sort of a super specific assignment where I have to make a poster for an event centered around the idea of a brick wall that uses a Suprematist style and I'm kind of struggling. Especially since I haven't done hardly anything like this yet. Here's about a 30 minute mockup of where I'm going with it. I could really use some suggestions here since the odd directions I've been given kind of stump me.
Well umm, i don't know much about Suprematist, went on google and I got Malevich or Mondrian. Both are really different because one is really dynamic and the other one not so much. The bricks you have there are set up in sets of 7, and they're identical between each other, which goes against the fact that you're trying to make them more dynamic by tilting and adding some lines. I'd say you should inspire more on Mondrian's style (if his style belongs to the referred artistic current). If that's not the case, then you should shake the composition a bit. Try cutting different shapes in paper and throw them on a table to see what you get
I haven't touched Illustrator in a while and was never really into it before, but now I finally managed to get my ass up and learn it through trial and error. As I don't really could think of something at 2 a.m. I tried to make Freud version of Shepard Fairey's Obey. [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/32719274/father.png[/t] Nothing to fancy really.
I actually fancy it quite a bit.
you could merchandise and make t-shirts
Here's an updated version. I think it's better but not really sure what else to do with it since it seems to capture the suprematism but also get the message across fairly well.
I'm really not sure about the black lines being at conflicting angles with respect to each other and the bricks. It gives me an unsettling feeling when I look at it. The colors are good, and the brick sizing and spacing is interesting, but I don't like those black lines.

The reason they're there at all is to give it more of a dynamic, suprematist look which isn't as present with only the rectangles.
You can. Don't make them look like simple rectangles. Work with perspective and you'll get something far more interesting
You can. Don't make them look like simple rectangles. Suprematism uses the most basic geometric shapes so I don't have the freedom to stray far from that.
Hello. Silly question- If I have Flash, is there still a need for illustrator?
If you can do it in flash, do it in flash, if you can do it in illustrator do it there. Its up to you whether you use one, the other, or both.
Guys, I have been trying for a good few hours but cannot work our how to make the background transparent for my vector. How? [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/nOUhi.png[/IMG_thumb] Bear in mind this is my first day on illustrator.

Dont be afraid to make really big ones [editline]24th April 2012[/editline]
Guys, I have been trying for a good few hours but cannot work our how to make the background transparent for my vector.
