I remember when George W Bush was compared to Hitler when running for his 2nd term. Do you?
When he starts with the concentration camps and the genocide I'll tell you that you were right.
You obviously don't understand the concept of a comparison so let me spell it out for you.
A comparison is when you take two things that are are similar in some capacity, but not in all capacities, and analyze how they differ and/or are the same. If you had a birch tree and an apple tree, you could compare them by examining the differences and similarities in texture of the bark, leaf color, or root structures. However, if you had just one birch tree, you couldn't compare it to itself. It's identical to itself, as it IS itself.
Likewise, if Donald Trump WAS Hitler, you could not compare him to Hitler, they would be the same person. If, however, they were similar in some capacities, but not all, you COULD compare them. Let's say, for example, that somebody said that Hitler and Trump are different in that one invaded other nations and committed genocide and the other did neither of those things, but similar in that they both used similar, awful tactics to garner public support and quell dissent. That would be a comparison, as they have similarities as well as differences.
If that comparison were to be used as a criticism of Donald Trump, it would of course be a criticism of his tactics for gaining power, and not a criticism of committing genocide or going to war, as it is explicitly stated in the comparison that he's not doing those things. Only somebody who either doesn't understand the concept of a comparison or was intentionally being difficult and trying to crack a dumb quip would assume that this criticism extended to genocide or warmongering.
Hope the clarified things for you so you can better identify comparisons in the future.

I'm sorry I didn't realize the topic was Bush- oh wait.
Stop deflecting on everything. You wonder why people don't take you seriously.
You can basically see the strings attached to him as he talks.
Yeah right, Trump probably has the least amount of strings attached to him than any president in the last 60+ years. The fucker's off the chain. You got to admit, it's impressive that he's in there and it's been a whole week and what he wants is getting done. It's just too bad it's so fucking regressive and basically the opposite of what the majority of people want
When he starts with the concentration camps and the genocide I'll tell you that you were right.
When he starts with the concentration camps and the genocide people will still think that Obama is more "Hitler-like" than Trump
though I will agree that the comparisons get a little silly

People compare everyone to hitler
our good friend postal has been accused of being hitler-esque, so has every recent president in some way and candidate.
So he mentions Dakota Pipeline...saying the solution is to use American Steel...um...Steel is Steel bro.
So he mentions Dakota Pipeline...saying the solution is to use American Steel...um...Steel is Steel bro.
No, you see this steel is blessed by a Texan priest and costs much more because it is American and holy. It's also blessed to be leak proof.
My theory is that Trump is deleting most of the negative comments which scarily isn't too far fetched.

So this mighty American Steel can withstand pressure and temperature changes, corrosion, the ground itself moving and shifting around. Who knows what other variables these pipelines have to endure each day.

This isn't really true at all, there are thousands of different standards of steel. Getting it from within the country will allow for better quality control.

How do you even know that? The guy hasn't even released his tax returns.
Just because he's a loud mouth, doesn't mean shit. Especially when he's still has tons of business conflicts of interest and when his administration is still on private email servers.
I can't remember any other politician or public speaker so obviously following a teleprompter. Or maybe it's all the jokes he made about them back in the campaign days coming back to bite him in the ass

If you look closely you can see an FBI agent holding a gun aimed at Trumps head through the glint in his eyes. Just another puppet reading what other people tell him to read. Do what other people tell him to do.
Is anybody gonna mention that the description is "The White House"? Just... "The White House".

Is it bad to use a teleprompter? It's more professional than using 3.5" note cards.
Can you imagine if Obama had walked on stage with a stack of note cards for a speech? Can you imagine Trump using note cards?
No. Presidents don't use note cards. They use teleprompters. Speeches are hard to remember, and you can't ad-lib them. Teleprompters are a non-issue.

This is 2 minutes. You can rehearse a 2 minute speech for maybe one hour and speak it into a camera, anyone can do that. You use a teleprompter for a live speech where you can't afford to deviate too far from the intended speech, but this is a prerecorded thing, you could easily have another take if it comes out wrong, a very important part of being a politician is preparing speeches.
Then there's also how Trump has been outspoken in his criticism of the usage of teleprompters by politicians.

trump is terrible at it

I mean, I know people hate teleprompters. I just think it's stupid and unfounded.
We don't harass newsreaders for using teleprompters (and they all do, believe me), why would we worry about politicians using them?
Yes, you can rehearse a short speech, sure. But I'm sure you're aware that presidents are extremely busy, and often don't have time for more than a brief reading. As well, even in the limited capacity that I've done public speaking, it's a lot of work - several hours, in my experience - to learn even a five-minute speech. A teleprompter would have made it much easier.
All I'm saying is that I don't fault politicians for using teleprompters. They're a tool that keeps them from really screwing up their speeches, and I can understand why that's important.

Nobody's denying that. Teleprompters are absurdly difficult to wrap your head around, and you really do have to read your speech a few times just so you can know what's coming up. They're a cue system, not a verbatim recitation.
I will admit, I am personally terrible with teleprompters.
And I'm not apologizing for Trump. He's been terrible, he will continue to be terrible. I just think there are larger stories than how bad he is at reading off a ticker.
We don't harass newsreaders for using teleprompters (and they all do, believe me), why would we worry about politicians using them?
Not politicians. Just Trump, because he made a point out of not using teleprompters.

There are ways to make it look like you're not reading directly from a screen, which is what he's failing to do. It's also how these weekly addresses are meant to be for the people, and him visibly looking like he's reading it word by word makes it feel very impersonal and robotic. This is actually his problem with teleprompters, they make speeches look less organic, less "from the heart".

It's funny because Obama used index cards during a debate and he got grilled on it, yet Bush did the same thing and no one said a word. You can guess which media outlet made it into a story to try and slander him

pretty sure you can technically do that now
minimum enlistment years in the military is two and after you discharge you can apply for the GI Bill, right?
