as much as I hate to recommend it, I think Airsplat still has some
I did a google search, came up with Amazon and Airsplat. Amazon wants 130$ which I'm having trouble justifying paying. And I really don't want to give Airsplat my money... Any other suggestions? List off some budget shit.
Keep in mind that if you go for the Galaxy MP5K, you're going to be needing heavyweight bb's (.28g+), and its highly recommended to add a few simple upgrades to the barrel/hopup to make it good. However, once you do those it becomes amazing.
Local field only allows .20g, sadly. That Tri-shot is looking to be my best bet.
how the fuck can you even regulate that
They make you buy Elite Force .20g from them. :P
They make you buy Elite Force .20g from them. :P
That's slightly tyrannical. Start a rebellion.
how the fuck can you even regulate that
They inspect every pellet after each round and trace it back to whoever fired it using CSI magic
They're the only field within 70 miles of me and they literally opened today..
start a petition on your local and state groups saying that you refuse to play there unless they let you use your own ammo
If you can't justify paying 130$ for an MP5k, a JG G36C is an amazing beginner gun, same price.
I can confirm the JG G36c is amazing as hell. Speaking of, Im planning on running a lightweight setup. Using a G36, I tried fitting a mag on my buddies AK pouch and it barely fit. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=1731 Im planning on getting this plate carrier after really just hating my crossdraw vest, so aint nobody got time for bulky mags. So, is there any drawbacks to using a magwell conversion kit? http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPath=25_90&products_id=28767
Hnnnngh, who wants to adopt me and take me home? You can bring your own BB's, provided they're Elite Force .20g and you have the package (or put other BB's in the package...).
That's bullshit.
I'm not complaining too hard seeing as I've been trying to get into airsoft for the last 7 years and finally have somewhere to play. :C Ironically, my alternative is that I own an AR-15 and go to the range whenever I get the opportunity, but that's way more expensive. LIFE IS PAIN.
That's a pretty backwards rule, there is literally no way they could properly enforce that It also rips off regulars pretty bad if they don't want to use .2 And why EF only?
I have no idea, I guess that's just what they stock. And seeing as there's no where else to play, I can see how they can make good money off of this. Hngghhhhh.
seriously, you should start a petition, or at least ask them to stock heavier EF bb's.
I will go in and speak to them and browse their wares come payday. I really wish I could just relocate to CA or MI for the sake of pursuing my hobbies.
Enforced by strip searches and weighing each individual BB found in the player's posession before allowing them onto the field. Hide BBs in your ass if you have to.
Hide BBs in your ass if you have to.
Where am I going to keep my sidearm at though?!
I mean, I could understand if they made you only use their BBs in rentals, but they BBs for everything? thats fucking dumb
I guess I'll just deal with it and use a Tri-shot with .20g until they get some sense talked into them. I've heard some of you are fond of these, how effective would it be compared to being armed with a GBB or lower end AEG?

After you learn proper movement and CQB skills, you'll be quite dangerous, and a real pain in the ass (those bastards hurt). Only negatives are that you won't be able to pump out suppressing fire, and you'll need to reload fairly frequently, but these can be dealt with by proper technique. I will say that if you're getting a trishot, get the short barreled version, and possibly the pistol grip. A short shotgun is much easier to work with on corners, but they're a bit harder to pump.

Thanks for the advice man, I'll order one next week alongside spare shells and other necessities. Does it have a sling mount, and are there any worthwhile upgrades I should look at? Edit: I'm dumb, yes it has a sling mount. Still, any upgrades worth looking into?

Does it have a sling mount, and are there any worthwhile upgrades I should look at?
They should all have sling mounts, but check before you buy. Neccessities for basic CQB airsofting: Mask (if they allow mesh, they're great for CQB, and they're all I wear up close) BB's Speedloader, just get one or two of the standard size models, no need for the big stupid ones. Somewhere to hold ammo, either a hoodie/jacket/pants pocket or actual gear, whatever works. I'd also recommend a one point bungie sling, because those will let you shoot ambidextrously around corners the easiest, and you will have to learn how to do that for CQB. As for upgrades, there aren't any for pure performance, and you really don't need them. For looks and helping you perform better, we have this lovely guide: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1068930
I'm getting some pretty terrible feeding issues using bioshot .30's out of Elite Force 140 rd midcap mags :/ perhaps a sector gear chip in combination with the magazine follower mod. On second thought, I think that these heavier bb's just don't feed well: http://forums.airsoftmechanics.com/index.php?topic=9346.msg105678#msg105678 yeah nevermind tried it with some Matrix .25's and it feeds flawlessly. Welp, that sucks because the bb's give me great accuracy.
Alright I've officially given up waiting for affordable AK-S74u stock in the UK, so I'll be fielding a new question: Living in London, most sites will be CQB. I've had my sites of a HK416, though not the VFC one, that's about 100% over my budget. But regardless of what I want to own, could anyone recommend me an AEG for CQB that, while shortish, can also be used in the field? Strobe torch/laser/red dot or scope recommendations would also be warmly welcomed but not necessary. WHOOPS: forgot to include a budget (South of £250)
