Definitely look at the Combat Machine series as a beginner, they're sturdy as heck polymer guns with a great build for the price. I don't think I would recommend them over anything else in the ~£130 range.
Best Price:Performance M4-type hicaps?
I found these two rifles:

They got reviews on Amazon. What are your guys' thoughts?
don't buy from amazon
don't buy a spring sniper rifle
[editline]25th March 2013[/editline]
or a sniper rifle in general unless you have multiple years of airsoft experience and hundreds of dollars laying around
What are your guys' thoughts?
Avoid. You dont want to start off with any sniper rifle.
You would put yourself at a severe disadvantage against people with AEG's.
Just buy a G&G Combat Machine. It's the best bang for your buck.
You also don't want to spend like $100 then get tired of it and wish you got an AEG instead later on.
I have one question that I want to get out of the way, is the WE M16 VN (gbb) any good?
For a Vietnam loadout (that'll take a while to complete), I was thinking a GBB would be nice to venture into gas guns for the added bit of realism for a classic gun. My first choice would be the WE M14 but I saw the M16 on ehobby, just don't know which one is better. Probably the M14 I assume.
Herf got one during that Evike sale right?
My AK grip is wobbling really bad. What do?
I just picked up the WE M14, check out the last page or so of Post Yer Gunz. I really like it. You won't be going wrong with either of them. If you really want it to be a proper nam loadout, you'd be better off going with the m16 since it was more commonly issued, and you could do a late war loadout which would be much cheaper.

Tough decision then, I also found the XM177E2 which I wanted the G&P version of a while ago, except I don't have a commando loadout in mind.
Now that I think more about it, if I go with the M14 I can use it with other loadouts and add my aimpoint on when I'm not doing Vietnam, more for my money in that case. M16 would be solely for the Vietnam era.

SO, evike went out of stock on aluminum m4 recoil buffers pretty much right as I bought one. I've already checked ASGI, AEX, and Airsoft Atlanta and they dont have any either. Anyone have any other stores they think might have one before I buy one from ebairsoft?

I was *this* close to getting the Echo 1, but the plastic upper/lower, and the autistic battery space were the deal breaker. I'm set on the G&P M16A1 with G&P trades from Evike now.

Just did, still wobbling.
Also ultimate and vandy I'm terribly sorry that I'm asking a question and offending you two somehow.
tighten everything
Shim the screw that holds the pistol grip on between the screw head and the pistol grip hole on the bottom
Stick a washer in that shit or something

In my opinion, unless you are a secret billionaire, gas rifles are reaally hard to upkeep and use effectively. AHEM..50$ mags..AHEM
I have a part time job and I have a GBBR and 7 mags for it.
COME AT ME
Guys, I'm not speaking in general, I'm speaking specifically to ninja duck. He should put his money to his gear he's acquiring.
Yeah, for the loadout I'm buying the gear before any guns.
Like one guy said, the WE M16/Car is painfully realistic with the 20 round mags. I'd only get a gbb during a sale like Herf though, 20% took a lot off of those M14 mags. The M14 mags can hold 30 with the spare spring so maybe that's the better option if I did go gas.
whats a really rare camo pattern? people in a facebook group keep doing "guess that camo" and they post like flecktarn and aor1 and they think those are rare
T-pattern?
[img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3a/T-pattern_BDU_Coat.JPG[/img_thumb]
Pretty rare, used for one training exercise in the 90s and never used again.
go to kamouflage.net
go to some obscure eastern european/asian country and pick any camo

$35 PER MAG, OH MY GOD THIS IS GREAT
Since this will save me money, it boils down to M16 (more common for soldiers + unique) or XM177 (for ultimate awesome)
