or any other "affordable" (sub $75) radio that looks OPERATOR
Theoretically, as long as you can broadcast and receive on the specific frequency they use.
the one on the bottom looks cool, just need to find out what kind of pins it uses, need a radio and a PTT as well.

It's two pin, so something like this:

going into a OPERATOR headset, but I'd prefer something over one ear. I've found a few but they either look stupid and go over my left ear, and I'd prefer the right.
I got one of those replica comtac 2s that also amplifies sound that looks nice and 0p3r4t0r. still have to check and see if I cant borrow (steal) one from my brother when I go over there, he doesnt use them and free > $60

How many hicaps is too many? I've got 6 M14 hicaps and i'm thinking of trying to trade or sell a couple to get some midcaps.
What's the cheapest place to get M14 midcaps? I passed up $6 170rd midcaps a while ago so i'm kicking myself now.

my friend has this exact one and its good.
Posted this on the purchase thread but figured it would be better here since this is for questions.
Does anyone know the name of this scope, or if there's something similar?

Personally, if you're not playing a support role, one hicap is too many. Midcaps for lyfe.

Is it possible to take a battery that has 3 cells on one side and 4 on the other and reconfigure them to have 3 on each side and then one at the bottom? Ive seen batteries like this but I dont know how to not make it explode. I have someone that can rewire it for me who knows what he's doing but I want my batteries to fit in a PEQ
why not get one of those tiny slab lipos?
more money I could be putting towards a box of mags.
i guess, but jury rigging your batteries doesn't seem worth the effort when you can get a nice lipo for really cheap from one of those rc websites
how cheap. I've already got a bunch of batteries and I burn through them pretty quick so I'd hate to have to buy a bunch more batteries. other than firing faster what's a good reason to switch to lipo batteries?

Theyre cheap as dirt and weightless. $5-7 per battery
they seem to last a lot longer too
me and my buddies used a single slab stick lipo each for an entire op, lasted all three days
$9 for a 1800 mah 40c 7.2v Lipo
rad, well Ive never even held a lipo. is there a particular thing I should be looking for when buying one? I'm about to get two so I dont want to get paperweights.
and what kind of charger do I need, I assume I cant just use my smart charger on them.

I have the UV-5, but I'm a government-licensed radio operator operator. You can get those, but you have to get a radio license first unless you want trouble with the FCC.
Ok so the guy who sold me the DE said that theres a little crack in the grip. It squeaks sometimes when I'm holding it and makes the grip feel somewhat wobbly.

So what do I do? From what I've been told, I should disassemble the trigger mechanism for the lower frame, apply some epoxy resin, gorrila glue, locklite or something along those lines and let it sit until it hardens and seals up the crack.
Get some sort of ABS glue that melts plastic (Assuming it is ABS) and apply it inside of the crack so that it will mend together and give it a few days to dry completely before doing anything with it.
And what glue exists that melts ABS?
can i use a hacksaw or something to cut the buffer tube mount on my receiver so I have more room for battery
abs cement or something
Alright so I should just apply that stuff on the crack and wait for it to harden. Do you guys think the grip would stay intact after that while running lubed propane?
it literally dissolves the plastic and bonds it together

i dont think the grip around the mag release is a very high stressed part.
And what about the crack on the inside of the grip in the magwell? Should I just leave it like that?
