Portal 2.
Seriously though it's a personal thing, there's no one answer. But in lieu of an answer I'm having trouble putting into words, I'll just quote this, which I think is pretty accurate.

That would be the coolest shit ever and I don't even smoke.
every time i go here
someone making a religion thread
hoping to provoke a reaction
We live a sinful life and in spite of our moral values we rape, plunder, and destroy!
:black101:
Such is the life of a carefree atheist who doesn't have to worry about such piety things as heaven and hell.
Holy shit, I think I've seen this exact thread before.
More than once, too.
look OP, that why religious doctrines are created.
To make you look ahead.
I realize this, but they usually look forward to eternal reward. So, being an atheist removes life's worth?

I realize this as well, and I think it makes you a much better person when you don't need one.
Our life's worth is to have fun while it lasts, and optionally make an impact that will influence when we die.
Personally, my goal in life is to do at least ONE thing that will make people remember me in peoples memory in a larger scale than just my family.

Which will be rendered useless due to Heat Death etc.
Even though that completely goes against everything we currently believe in ? We know we're going to die too but it doesn't mean we just stop and sit in the corner of a room until that happens.

Very very true, you just changed my whole viewpoint & opinion of it.
living a long, happy life and helping others to do the same.
also, world domination.
long live the GLA!
i'm so afraid of dying
even if i die at 80 there will be so much i've never experienced
Science prohibited by the church? Since when?

The second statement is so true, there is so much that can be done but us middle class folks generally will never be able to accomplish even 1% of that.
I hate to think of it like that...
i look forward to work, love, sex, starting a family one day and intoxication. hallucinogens prefered
Science prohibited by the church? Since when?
Since evolution, birth control, historical records showing the bible is bullshit and that god isn't real in any possible way what so ever, and of course, that Jesus may have been gay.
They hate science because religion's number one enemy isn't sin, but just common sense.

It's inevitable, don't sweat it.
But at least you have this life instead of nothing. (You wouldn't know you were dead though if that was the case)
Taking advantage of your time alive and making yourself and the world a better place? Living life to its fullest and becoming skilled in your hobbies? Broadening your horizons and exploring the world?
Or porn I guess.
Being right.
Being right.
You're not going to know you were right, If you are.

Which evolution? How is opposing birth control opposing science? And how are historical records scientific?
So it's gone from tiny portions of an origin science to all of common sense?
If we're talking about the aftermath, I don't.
It's why I'm trying to make as much of my life now, as I can, instead of praying for someone to fix it for me.
I look forward to, as was already said, tomorrow. To having fun with my friends, the people I love and care about.
I look forward to one day being able to work in a field that interests me and allows me to further advance my understanding of the universe around us, how it works, what makes everything 'tick', why things are the way they are.
I look forward to, maybe one day, doing great things with my life. Using the development of technology for good, to better the life of all humans everywhere, now and in the future.
And yeah, one day I'll die. One die Earth will die. The sun will die. Every last star will fizzle out of existence given enough time. Everything that ever was might simply cease to exist in its entirety. Space and time may simply vanish into complete nothingness just as they once came into existence from it.
But, fuck it. I'm here right now. I'm conscious. I see the universe through my own two eyes. I can think. I feel. I experience happiness, sadness, love, pain. I'm a god damn statistical anomaly; the odds of everything that happened happening EXACTLY as they did to allow me to exist are astoundingly low, yet, lo-and-behold, I'm here! I DO exist against all odds. Even though it is all pointless I'm gonna try to make the most of it. I'm going to try to live life to the fullest and be a good person and allow the others around me to have a good life, too.
We may not have anything PERMANENT to work towards, but, unlike some people may be led to believe that doesn't make us hateful, bad people. On the contrary, many, hell, most of us are probably decent human beings.

That's preposterous
