I'm thinking about leaving the USA too and moving to Germany or France. It's not that I don't like America, it's just I don't like 90% of the people in it. I hate living in one area for a long time anyway. I think that when people live in one area all their life it causes them to be ignorant and less understanding of others' culture. I've lived in Ohio, Texas, Maryland, Tennessee, Georgia, Hawaii, Colorado and Germany. I loved moving a lot as a kid. Seeing another place is 1000x better than just hearing about it or reading about it.

So, to summarise, he isn't allowed to complain about the fact that he has had bad experiences with the Scottish? I could understand if he was mouthing off about the Scottish without ever having visited the place, but I think after 13 years of living there and having had to put up with abuse from them he has a right to say something.

Me and my family have never been anti-Scottish but every Scottish person I have met do not like the English. They always try to make us like the smaller race when we were the largest kingdom in the British Isles. I live in the East part of Scotland near Inverness and as I have a motorbike I travel a lot, this is how I know so many Scots do not like the English.
The whole banter of the football is not an issue, Scotland has always been shitty at football and England used to have the champion team of Europe and at one point the world (yes a long time ago but still).
I wish Scotland did go independent because you would realise how much you need the English to sustain your economy, the oil we supposedly "steal" is not yours at all, it belongs to major oil companies like BP (British), Total (French), Aker Kværner (Norway/Russian and branch of Total) and Shell which is a worldwide company. Scotland sucks a lot of English peoples tax money to keep going you know that right?
But this has sort of derailed the thread so let us not discuss this any more.

Did I say he can't complain? No. But him judging an entire country of people. 5 million people. Based on the actions of a minority is just as bad as the abuse he went through.
I'm Scottish. I have absolutely nothing against the English. Yet, because I'm Scottish, in his eyes, I'm a foul-mouthed Anglophobe? Our countries are supposed to a union, but it's people like him (And those who've verbally abused him, I'm not trying to suggest they're any better), that make you question the point in us being unified at all.
I mean, Christ. I've visited England dozens of times. I have family near Watford. Near enough every time I've been down, I've experience some sort of abuse.
