Nukes are basically the worst thing ever to be created by mankind.
You do realize that one's CG right?
You do realize that one's CG right?
It is? Well, it does fulfill it's purpose of showing how horrifying nukes are anyways.
It is? Well, it does fulfill it's purpose of showing how horrifying nukes are anyways.
That video actually infuriates me, because it was created ages ago by a guy named Kuriso, and after he made it people kept mistaking it for real. Then it kept getting reposted all across youtube by people who thought it was real, completely disassociating it from it's creator. I think I even remember seeing it in a movie for a split second, and I highly doubt Kuriso got any credit for it. But enough about that, have some nukes
For some reason the words "DBZ" and "real life" together cause me great sadness. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's something I've blocked out of my memory. . . .
I still have yet to figure out why they were shooting a nuke, or what those firemen where going to do.
Nukes are basically the worst thing ever to be created by mankind.
Horrifying maybe. Worst? I dunno, at least there's peace between countries owning them 'cause of MAD.
Nukes are basically the worst thing ever to be created by mankind.
How do people actually manage to mistake this for a real nuke, it looks so blatantly fake
Nukes are basically the worst thing ever to be created by mankind.
The nuke is a textbook case of "Peace through superior firepower". True it's a device that could wipe out humanity overnight, but I'm not sure if the world would be a better place today if the nuke never existed. [editline]24th September 2012[/editline] Also that CG is disgusting, because I've seen it everywhere.
Are the cloud rings that form round the mushroom moisture in the air condensing rapidly due to the heat?
If you guys are gonna talk about the Tsar Bomba at least post an actual video of it:
If you guys are gonna talk about the Tsar Bomba at least post an actual video of it:
To give some perspective to its largeness (because sad but true, that video don't). That fireball is 8km (5 miles) in diameter. Even now it's still hard for me to comprehend it, and to believe the original design was a 100MT bomb.
Do newer nukes still leave the bombed site irradiated for decades?
IIRC I read somewhere that the absolute most powerful atomic weapons out there don't actually deliver a lot of radiation for their size.
Death is beautiful.
Radiation also isnt just dangerous in the long term, it can be quite painful in the short term too. Baisically, depending on the dose, the first signs of acute radiation exposure are nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, and then after that is cognitive impairment and seizures. After a day or two if you got a large enough dose, your skin starts showing symptoms, and can do several things depending on the amount of exposure. It can become discolored, start bleeding, and even start falling off.
I remember reading an interview with a Japanese soldier (or someone who was in the area, I forget exactly) who went into the area near Hiroshima to try and rescue any survivors. The two most notable cases that I remember was one person whose skin had literally melted onto the leather of their chair, and a girl (alive) whose skin slid off when the rescue team tried to pick her up (she died after that). Radiation's a bitch.

Samething with the firemen, although they possible could've been there to decontaminate the soldiers and equipment by washing away radioactive dust and debris. Also here's the Atomic Annie, the real Nuke Cannon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M65_Atomic_Cannon Also:
Was watching all of these while listening to this: http://pyramids-hhr.bandcamp.com/track/a-throne-without-a-king-pt-4 Really added a creepy factor.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfJZ6nwxD38 like this
oh hell no, not that video anything but that
All this atomic bomb talk made me think on this song.

If a bomb ever has to drop on me, I hope to God that it drops close enough for me to be vaporized instantly.

What I would like to see is a true HD nuclear explosion; as in taken with the technology of today.. Though ofcourse that probably wouldn't happen. I mean a ceremonial test to remember the destructive capabilities of the weapon before disarming the last one on earth maybe; but that won't be for another 50 years at the least.

Considering it never happened, the proposition probably got denied.
Also; does anyone know the actual limit on the megaton size of a nuke? Because the Tsar Bomba was a lot bigger than what was dropped on/over Hiroshima. Just wanted to know the actual limit.
Also; does anyone know the actual limit on the megaton size of a nuke? Because the Tsar Bomba was a lot bigger than what was dropped on/over Hiroshima. Just wanted to know the actual limit.
I don't think there really is, although the amount of damage they can do does hit a limit at a certain size, since you get to a point where most of the excess power just blows out of the atmosphere.
Mankind has the capacity to manufacture miniature suns. Think about that for a second.
Mankind has the capacity to manufacture miniature suns. Think about that for a second.
miniature suns for a few seconds; I mean the ability of the atom bomb is amazingly menacing; but they are far from the effects an actual stable miniature sun would have.
I remember reading a couple of years ago that the French proposed doing one more, last nuclear test. Considering it never happened, the proposition probably got denied.
Nuclear test-ban treaties forbid them from doing one. [editline]24th September 2012[/editline]
Also; does anyone know the actual limit on the megaton size of a nuke? Because the Tsar Bomba was a lot bigger than what was dropped on/over Hiroshima. Just wanted to know the actual limit.
There is no theoretical limit, but there is a practical limit. The Tsar Bomba was scaled down to 57 megatons, and even that was massively impractical. Few, smaller bombs would give a much better yield than a single large one.
