Borderlands 2 got boring really really soon. As much as I wanted to have more of Handsome Jack I just couldn't bear the repetetive fights and never made it throught the game.
Adding a few tricks won't reinovate the gameplay.
So please kill Borderlands, do something new.

They don't need to kill Borderlands, it's a flagship of Gearbox, that's like Valve canceling Half Life 3 because it's too hard to work on.
They just need to work to make Borderlands 3 really really good.

Well considering this is made by 2K Australia and not Gearbox, and Gearbox announced a new game this year, I'd say they're doing just that. They've also said multiple times they're not working on a Borderlands 3 and won't for a while because they're so burned out on the series.

really? i thought borderlands 1 had endless potential but was boring and repetitive and too hard to level
borderlands 2 is the first game i spent more than 250 hours on, while it did have a lot of flaws i had tons of fun

I hate BL2 so much because it was so close, yet so far from realizing BL1's potential that it was inexcusable they thought the formula at release was good enough. A "Diablo with guns" has always been my dream game, and BL1 made me think they could realize that dream, but sometimes the ones you love hurt you the most.

Gearbox tried to do something new (Colonial Marines) and look how that ended up. All they know how to do now is make borderlands games. I want to see them fail.
I want to see Randy Pitchford on his knees crying and begging for our forgiveness. And then after he licks our boots and makes another Brothers in Arms game that's good we'll forgive them for their crimes against gaming.
Hopefully the guns feel good this time around. The way the guns feel in the previous installments has just felt kinda, like they had very little impact on hit.

They did a PAX demo which made everyone hype as fuck for A:CM but the full game was developed by another studio.
All this "Gearbox hate train" needs to stop already.

i could never stand using jakobs revolvers unless they came with a stabilizer (which wasnt all that common), in which case they were godlike
Borderlands would be a much better series if they hired a more competent writer than Anthony Burch. The cheer drop of quality in the atmosphere and likability of the game between 1 and 2 shows that.
I can't stand Anthony Burch's writing and the whole Diablo-style Skinner box ARPG game play really do sent do anything for me. I've always been bored with Diablo and it's various clones, doing essentially the same thing over and over again to get gear with bigger numbers attached to it really doesn't do anything for me.
I picked up Borderlands 2 thinking that these kind of ARPG's would be more fun if they added some first-person shooting into the mix would make it more fun for me but I've realised that it's not the combat that make these type of game so boring to me, it's the whole nature of repetitive the same actions over and over again to get better stuff. Doesn't mean I think it's wrong enjoying these type of games, they are just not for me.
Still I think the setting have some potential for some actual proper pitch black comedy but Burch really can't pull of that kind of humour too well. I'm curious how Telltale will handle the franchise.

The thing I discovered after playing through both Borderlands games is I prefer a game to have 9 or so well made, balanced weapons than a game with 7 million randomly generated guns, because the random guns are going to be fucking terrible 90% of the time.
Most of the time in Borderlands I ended up using the quest reward weapons because they were at least design to be useful.

From Day 1 of BL2's release I always thought the new environments were pretty and colorful, but weren't as atmospheric. They all felt like little sectioned off pieces with no consistency, I think the fact that you're fast traveling forward and back so much made me feel this way.

Not more interesting, rather more enjoyable and atmospheric. The world of BL1 was more interesting, but the environment was definitely more bland, but it added to the charm.
I'm surprised Borderlands gets so much hate; I think it's an incredibly fun game. And I love the writing. Honestly one of my favourite trailers for a videogame yet. Borderlands is just good fun. I get that it feels like a grind/loot treadmill to some people, but I find the gameplay really satisfying which is odd considering I find diablo to be a mind-numbingly dull experience for that same reason.

I only got the first one and just did not like it. Nothing felt satisfying to do and most of the loot was shit. No real plot either which made doing quests feel kind of pointless.
