So I bought an AMD 7990 and then realized a few hours later that I never play any graphically demanding games. Help, I need demanding games D:
crysis 3, battlefield 4, planetside 2, metro last light, serious sam 3 BFE, total war rome 2 and so on I ploughed all those out on my GTX780 to get a rough estimate of how good it was, and didn't have any issues running on ultra on all of them at 1080p. I nearly got the 7990 as I wanted future proof but opted to get another 780 in a year or two rather than the 7990 which I hear still has hit and miss driver issues and overheats like a mother. You must let me know how it fares.
Are you able to walk through the woods in ARMA 3 without your computer shitting itself? Or maybe it's just me because I have a GTX 560 Ti.
get a second one of those badboys, I've found/heard the 500 series to be very SLI efficient.
About the 7990 overheating, [del]I don't think so. The highest temp I've gotten (BF3 on ultra and Red Orchestra 2 on max settings) was around 65C. I'll hear back after I've tried running Metro Last Light for a while though. [editline]23rd November 2013[/editline] Oh and thanks a lot for the game recommendations everyone. It's very appreciated <3

Can I still do sli if I wanted to? I don't think it would make a difference since I'mstill using an old 2.4 ghz q6600 and 4gb of ddr2 :v
Someone made a blog where he reviews bathrooms on my university's campus http://ulethbathrooms.wordpress.com/

You could probably overclock that to a degree as that architecture supports it fairly well as well as putting a decent after market air cooler on it but yeah you'd probably be better off just upgrading the entire lot together. RAM's getting cheaper and cheaper and 8GB won't put you back much and should keep you going for a couple of years, dependent on the socket a motherboard would go from 40-130 dollars on the midrange side of things. Providing you'd get one that is definitely SLI compatible you can keep the 550ti and throw another one in. Some older motherboards used to either jump on the SLI or crossfire train and never did both despite how asinine it was at the time. New amd graphics cards and apu's are cheap as hell and caused nvidia to drop their prices and there's probably another intel price drop coming around the corner when the broadwell series come out.

So what are everyone's feeling about Hamid Karzai?
get a second one of those badboys, I've found/heard the 500 series to be very SLI efficient.
I don't think I can with my mobo. It's supported but the card is pretty big and it'd probably get in the way of the SATA and system panel cables. I wish I got a bigger motherboard back when I built my computer but it was in a combo deal so it was cheaper. [editline].[/editline] Eh forget it, it's not available in most places and my 560 Ti is all Nvidia, not from EVGA or MSi or anything.
Get on my laptop gaming level desktop nerdes. [sp]This is actually the fastest pc I've ever had ;_;[/sp]
Copious pain. I really miss Lauren. I wish I could be unconscious but I doubt I'll be able to sleep for a while.
I've learned a couple things about Ladas on Liveleak. 1) "Never ness with a Lada - the owner always has very little to loose!" http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=eeb_1384709409#16mZXyeA7Dk3UuOb.99 2) "Is it me or is there always a white Lada before any accident in Russia. This car is like Grim Reaper of the russian roads." http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=bfe_1385197154#K0swB0Jcv5Z6Ksfz.99 Such is life in Russia. Also, watching Lithuanian women trying to bring their drunk husbands back home is extremely entertaining. Beats any reality TV show in America. So I probably would reccomend a general upgrade where you can afford it of those 3 components and making sure that your power supply is adequate enough to handle 2 GPUs. 800/900ish mark would be suitable to be better safe than sorry given that they apparently can draw up to 330 under load each. The motherboard doesn't support DDR3 RAM either which would prove to be a hinderance, if you threw in some 1600mhz DDR3 you'd notice a massive difference alone in multitasking and general OS speed compared to 4GB of 800mhz DDR2. And if you're not a stickler for multithreading you can pick up a nice AMD CPU on the cheap that'll be leaps and bounds better for below or floating around the 100 dollar mark. just as a half arsed example http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131972 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113356 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313397 budgety as hell but would be a massive upgrade eitherway

Northy, you seem quite knowledgeable on the PCs. My 6850 is utter shit and I'd like to get something else. Its not shit because it doesn't perform, but because its a bad manufacture and it crashes on everything I play and the fan bearings have gone bad twice on it now. Recommend something of equal or slightly better performance with the best value?
What's your price range? Plenty of the new R7 or R9 series that'd fit that role nicely.
either as cheap as possible with the same performance, or sub $200 with improvements would be cool.
i have a boner
Off the bat I'd reccomend the R7 260x for better performance at a slightly lower price (presumably compared to when you first bought it. You also get all those free games if you're into that jazz. Gigabyte would be my go to brand for it as I've had two of their AMD cards and never had them fail on me hardware wise. [editline]24th November 2013[/editline] For just under 200 you could net yourself the new R9-270X. You'll get some really fantastic frames on modern titles and I reckon it's an absolute bargain. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127761
I wish I would have held out on getting my GPU for just a bit longer for the AMD cards to come out, but I'm still plenty happy with my 7850.

Cost me $700 out the door at a gun show today. Pretty good price I think, and the rifle is in great condition.
Not bad, how much ammo did you get?
500 rounds. Mind you that $700 includes the ammo and mags. I'm doing a little post-purchase research and it looks like I got a good deal. Always remember to haggle with the seller.
today shall be a good day [t]http://puu.sh/5sg9X.png[/t] [editline]24th November 2013[/editline] kudos to catbarf and cardfan for their A++ suggestions
