Also on a completely unrelated note. God fucking damn the gun laws in my state are fucked up. Absolutely no way I'm living in this state once I move out. I'm going to PA. Fuck this place. I love the area I grew up but there isn't anything in this state anymore. No jobs, no industry, too much crime, shitty people and a Government that decides to warp the constitution whenever they want. When they wrote the second amendment "Every citizen has the right to bear arms" I'm pretty sure they didn't mean; "Every citizen has the right to bears arms if they pay a $91 fee to the Sheriff's department, have their finger prints taken and put on record, conduct a criminal backround check. Get four character references and have them notarized, pay $10 for the instructional packet, fill out the four forms required by the state and have them all assembled and sent to the State within 60 days, pre-purchase your firearm and include the receipt in the packet, go before a Judge for an interview and explain to him the reason you want a gun. than wait 6 months for them to process your application and decide if you truly need a gun or not. If you don't get the permit you want, than wait a year and re-apply again." - George Washington "Every citizen has the right to bear arms. Unless that firearm has a 10 round magazine in which case it should be unlawful to load more than 7 rounds into the aforementioned magazine. Or if that gun has one feature that makes it an "assault weapon" in which case that should be registered with the state and it should be a federal crime to possess that particular gun. Oh, and guns with fixed magazines that can load more than 10 rounds need to be modified to accept no more than 7. Also I think it should be illegal to own a gun with a bayonet lug, pistol grip, handguard, collapsable or folding stock, flash hider etc." - Thomas Jefferson "It's okay to own a pistol. But once you put a second grip on it. Than it should be considered a felony." - Benjamin Franklin
Spot on brother, the majority of these bullshit gun laws are in blatant violation of the Constitution. Even something as seemingly harmless as a carry permit - sorry, but no, fuck that. A right is not a right if you have to pay hundreds of dollars to take a class, send in proof that you took it, pay another $60 or more for the application fee, wait for them to review it, hope they approve it, then send you back a little registration card that does the exact same thing everyone opposes gun registration for (nobody's going to get a permit if they don't have a gun, so obviously having a permit lets the government know who has a gun), AND on top of that it has to be renewed every so often to include the fees that go with it. That is not a right. That is a privilege. Your right to carry a firearm has to be applied for, registered and approved, renewed and paid for, you have to do so in the EXACT manner the government specifies, and can be revoked at any time for any reason (or no reason whatsoever) the government sees fit. Just let that sink in for a minute.
Ugh I can't do this. I'm gonnang to go to bed, iI'm going to read lord of the rings, I'm going to JOKO (jerk off, knock out fyi) , and I'll write it tomorrow.
I can handle minor restrictions on certain things but now it's fucking stupid. Fuck the Safe Act. If I lived in PA I could literally go to the gun store and buy a fucking handgun. That's how easy it is. If I want to carry, I just submit an application, the Sheriff reviews my history to see if I killed a man recently and if I didn't I should be able to Conceal Carry within 45 days. In NY I'm forced to go through this stupid process. I want a handgun because it's a right, not a privilege. I'm a responsible citizen. I pay all my taxes, follow all the laws and I have a crystal clean criminal record and a history with firearms without any incident. I want to get a job that requires me to have a firearm as well. But they make it incredibly time consuming and costly to do. Why? Just to discourage you from doing it at all.
And that's exactly the point, Code. They WANT to make it such a hassle to exercise your right that most people won't even bother. Look at the shitstorms they cause with bans on certain capacity magazines or certain features, banning guns outright would be political suicide for them - so they choose the next best thing, making it almost not worth the trouble to jump through all their hoops.
Hehe, no, Codemonkey broke a law ;) [editline]27th March 2014[/editline] *my heart with his good looks and suave charm

This basically sums up how my morning's gone. Thank you, random bitch from the internet #53135635 for further cementing why I don't like furries. If anybody needs me, I'll be on the next plane leaving the planet. I'll send you all a postcard from Mars. I'm not mad or anything, because I've come to expect it. But I decided I was going to call out today because I'm going to quit my job soon so I might as well take a free day before I can't anymore. So I was going to see if I could get an appointment to do my finger prints for my pistol permit. Turns out you need to go there in person and pay them that money months ahead of time because they don't do finger-printing on a regular basis. Considering I'm kinda broke right now I'm not doing that today. And here I thought it was as easy as calling them and scheduling an appointment for a day in the near future. It's go to the office in person, schedule an appointment for months in the future and pay $100.
Jesus that shit actually makes me glad I live in Georgia. All you have to do here is walk into the gun store, wait through a 3-minute background check and walk out with the gun of your choice.
I've never done shots, so last night I was just testing my limits. Now I know how much I can take so next time I can have fun without getting too fucked up. As fish said, if you don't overdo it drinking can be fun and enjoyable. Gotta learn by doing tho

I mean for you job aswell? Dude you guard TVs. From my (probably stupid) point of view it is completely pointless. It's probably an incredibly slim change you'll even need to use/draw the weapon anyway. I can understand if you were guard/night guard for some government/medical building.
He wants to guard more important things than TVs and that requires a firearm.
He wants to guard more important things than TVs and that requires a firearm.
I guess I'm just a dumb Brit then. It just seems illogical too me to want to go through months worth of ball ache and waiting around for a possibility to get a permit for CC just to get a job like that.
dont drink the brit bong waterrrrrrrr
Because you get paid shit tons to do basically nothing.
But do these job require CC? Like, I can totally understand it if it pays loads but if it is not a must and they will hire you with or without it then what is the point?
Foreigners. Just don't get it.
Ye good 1 m8. He's asking if Code actually was required in order to get the job as the hassle was quite a lot and perhaps not worth it on that front. A perfectly logical question which was fair enough. But good 1 m8 giggle etc.
But do these job require CC? Like, I can totally understand it if it pays loads but if it is not a must and they will hire you with or without it then what is the point?
The high-end jobs do, yes. Code aspires to open his own private security firm as he already has his security license, and is going to get his CC. He's hoping to (afaik) do the jobs that even require firearms across the pond. I mean I'm obviously not talking for code, but that's what I know from what he's told me. He's not going to CC at best buy, but for jobs that actually require it like security at energy plants which are a big deal, we know a guy who works at a Nuclear Energy plant that carries an several thousand dollar AR since a break-in at a Nuclear Power plant would be, you know, terrible. [editline]27th March 2014[/editline] But yes to answer your question I do believe he wants a job that does require it.
Oh I see, my bad, last post I saw for him about this was applying for a job at TARGET and tbh I thought it was ridiculous to want to CC let alone CARRY a weapon when all you are is a store guard. But the Nuclear power plant job would be rad as fuck and I can understand there.

You know. Just a thought. Enjoy ur giggle m8.

[editline]27th March 2014[/editline] But yea, Code that would be rad as fuck if you had a job at a nuclear power plant.

Gr8 b8 m8 I get it. Guns aren't a thing over there. In other parts of the world, however, they're kinda important to those who can actually get 'em. That does not, however, mean anyone who has the right to get one and carry it is somehow "illogical" just because you've let your government emasculate you to the point where guns are about as common as rocks from Neptune outside of law enforcement. PS - Also worth noting that the post of mine you quoted... wasn't even directed at you. Nice job.

" So I asked if it requires a CC PERMIT. I can understand a job requiring a firearm/firearms permit but does it require the CC.
D3vils and Fragg may have skipped over guarding more than TV's, but you're just making yourself look bad Malikyte. Guns aren't a very big thing over there, so foreigners may not get the fact that as US Citizens, guns are our right, which they don't quite get because they aren't raised with the second law of the land of their country being the unalienable right to own a firearm, but that doesn't mean we should attack them.
I don't know if you're serious now because you are ridiculously narrow minded if you think like that. I know that the comment was not directed at you, you replied to Dr.Fragg and I replied to your comment directed at him. What are you, 12 years old?.
