I just got told I have to make a 3.7 next semester or I get kicked out of college. I really feel like college isn't for me, but my parents are telling me they'll disown me if I do anything else. I'm really getting to the point of disregarding them and just joining the military early instead of finishing college first. I really don't think I can make a 3.7 and I don't want to waste any more of their money trying.
summon chin-chin
Every semester in college so far I've always had one or two classes that I would really dislike and would bring my GPA way down. So I'd get like 3.0 or higher in most of my classes, then I get the one or two classes I hated where I'd get a 2.0 or lower so my GPA is shitting the fucking bed. I've yet to fail a class at least. [editline]23rd June 2014[/editline] And I wish I was capable of joining the military because I have zero job prospects when I finish but nope, inheritable genetic defects means no army for me.
I get all high Bs and As on my tests and papers, I just forget to do most of my quizzes entirely due to rampant ADD which for some reason no amount of medication can help with. But I feel your pain either way.
The one thing that makes it better is I took my first year history class with the toughest professor to take a history class with at my university and got an A in his class when everyone else who took that class with him complains about how they struggled to get a B- so that makes me kind of proud of myself. And after next semester I shouldn't have to take any more classes I dislike. One more science class then from here on out it's all history and geography. I might even make human geography my minor because I've taken a lot of classes in it already and I consistently do good in them. And the professor in one of my geography classes had a really fucking hot teaching assistant from Iran.

Unfortunately, very few people ever find their dream job where they love everything they do, and you have to learn to deal with assignments and people you strongly dislike. If the classes you don't like are ruining your GPA, you probably need to reanalyze how you're approaching your work to compensate, because generally speaking most prospective employers don't like 'I didn't do well in classes I didn't like' as an explanation.
I'm a detective.
I'm a detective.
Do you do noir style monologues in your head while you look for people shoplifting?
that moment when a cute girl asks if my marpat pants are "minecraft"
Tell her yes then put your meat in her mouth.
that moment when a cute girl asks if my marpat pants are "minecraft"
When I was in grade 8 and 9 whenever I'd wear my OD Canadian army jacket at school dumb girls would always ask if I'm in the army. I managed to convince one that I was in nam
4 years later and fashion dictates that 1 in 4 girls at any given place should be wearing some kind of OD jacket
Camo jackets are getting kind of common for girls too. I know one girl who has a CCE jacket and I am so fucking jelly. Especially because she probably got it pretty cheap when she was in Austria while it's near impossible to find in North America because lolfrance [editline]23rd June 2014[/editline] Next thing you know I'll see a girl wearing a LATPAT jacket :v:
So, first day of college classes. Keeping track of readings and online assignments and everything is kinda confusing especially coming from a dumb high school where everything was on paper and straightforward. Not do readings within these days and then do online exams on readings from these days. I'll probably get the hang of it in a week or so. Also taking an Intro to Programming class lol this'll be fun, never done programming before. Just a prereq class for Bioinformatics which is what I want to major in.
I dont know if I envy you for being out of high school, or feel sorry for you because college seems hard.
It's the first day of college and I already miss high school. Yeah.
I dont know if I envy you for being out of high school, or feel sorry for you because college seems hard.
Trust me it's not hard. It's actually easier than high school because for the most part you're taking classes you actually want to take rather than stuff you have zero interest in.
It just feels much more different when there's thousands of other students with you in classes and you'll never know their names while in highschool I at least knew almost everyone in my graduating class' names and faces. College feels a lot less friendly and inviting and more intimidating, you know? Though my apartment unit mates are pretty cool. My roommate is a CS major or something and he's taking the same Intro to Programming class with me since its a prereq even though he's had a lot of prior programming experience. He did like half the term's assignments on his laptop during the first lecture while I was there trying to understand the basics. I'll have a good source to look to for help though so that's nice.

So guys, remember how I was all hype about working for M&D? The people who developed Payday 2, Chronicles of Riddick and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons just called me and want an interview. I've been here for 2 days. I'll feel like such a dick if I switch job now because this place is so small with like 10 employees and I'm the only other animator, but I mean if I switch I'll have a much safer financial situation and potentially better working hours AND THEIR OFFICE IS JUST A SHORT WALK FROM M&D SO EHKSDFMC Adult life is hard...
You've just started work at a different job. It will look very, very bad to both this prospective employer and to future ones if you jump ship immediately. You have made a commitment, and now you're considering switching jobs over an interview, not a formal offer. The responsible thing to do is to tell them that you've already started work elsewhere, but that you appreciate their interest and would consider working for them in the future.

I'm not making any decisions until I can get answer on if they want to hire me, a definitive number on a salary, work hours and get an idea of what their offices are like. If any of these criterias fail, I'm not doing the switch (aka worse pay, same amount of hours/same pay, worse hours/same pay and hours but shitty work environment) - basically the formal offer you're talking about. As of now I work 9 hours a day, 5 days a week on the basis that there is any work for me. Basically if there's no work for me to do for 2 weeks, I can't go to work, and that's unpaid leave. That's insanely unreliable income. So yeah, not changing or even considering unless I get to know all those things, and it becomes an actual offer and thing.
found out about this guy's channel today much awesomeness
just asked a girl I've had feelings for and almost started dating in highschool before my dad died and my life went to even more shit than it already was. Heres to hoping she still feels the same way about me.

I like his videos. Hes like FPSRussia meets Dynamic Pie Concepts
best one
Speaking of Dynamic Pie Concepts, I was wondering how they do their INTENSE ACTION COMBAT SCENES wondering if they used airsoft guns or something but I just noticed that their AR's have simmunition/utm bolts in them.
