Woah no way! Did you have the totally sweet galaxy on the insole of yours as well? While impossible to show to anyone, that was definitely the coolest thing I've ever had going on in any shoe.
Hells yeah. Those shoes were fucking awesome man.

my formal wear
also just saw the new transformers movie and there's a cia guy who looks almost exactly like chris costa
it was really uncanny
Edit: his name is mikal vega
he also had this costa beard going on and you only really see him in a fistfight
so the whole fight scene I was trying to get a better look to see if it was costa.
You know what movie had a really interesting lore? The Matrix.
I ended up spending like three or four hours last night reading articles on the Matrix Wiki.
Apparently the The Matrix Online continued the story to a degree. There was also a (possibly) non-canon arch in a comic where aliens came and tried to fight the machines.
Either way, it's a cool universe.
Walmart has wifi now. That means I can get paid to sit on the shitter and browse FP.

They're something like 4 years old and beat to shit, and the styling's a bit over the top, but I've never had a shoe that's even remotely near as comfortable as these are.
Sadly they were limited edition and are now impossible to find in my size so I'll probably have to get way lamer shoes when these die.
I actually have some of those in light blue that I've worn maybe 4 times in 4 years.
Sup 393. Long time no see.
where'd you go??
My currents (excluding old/dirty running shoes I don't wear as often):
[t]http://cdn.solecollector.com/media/sneakers/images/nike-sb-Dunk-Low-Medium-Grey-2.jpg[/t][t]http://5.kicksonfire.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/quarter-shot-nike-lunar-safari-wolf-grey-blue-1.jpg[/t][t]http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51KskGY6QeL._SY395_.jpg[/t][t]http://simage1.sportsmansguide.com/adimgs/l/1/164606_ts.jpg[/t]
Nike Dunk Low Pro SB, Nike Lunar Safari Fuse+ ($40 idgaf), Timberland Pro Titan, Bates ZR-8.
The Timberlands are going on year 7 and are still in pretty good condition, and the Bates are going on 2+ years and for the $65 they cost they're great. I only got them because I didn't have the money to spend on $100+ nicer boots but these hold up really well.

I like my New Balance 608v3.
Mine are blue and beat to shit now, but I'm considering another pair as my next shoes.

4 work

4 walk
I've had wide feet since a kid and past my 18th I've had size 12 (13 for you uneducamericans) feet and it's always a pain finding relatively cheap footwear. I've got a pair of converse somewhere but the lack of any real ankle support makes me opt for comfort and foot support over a brand name label.

You should watch the Animatrix shorts. They're pretty good, and it gives a lot of insight into other facets of The Matrix.
Also I remember reading a Terminator/Star Trek cross over fanfiction where when Vulcans came to Earth they encountered Skynet and Skynet went to war with basically all the organic life forms in the galaxy and iirc they mostly succeed but then they encounter the borg and go to war with them
[editline]25th June 2014[/editline]
then I remember my brother was telling me about another cross over fanfic that was Star Wars and Star Trek and it was like they found a wormhole that linked the two universes and the federation and empire established trade and they started reverse engineering each other's technology.

You ever feel like a story or universe is better when it's, like, contained, before sequels and prequels and other stories start to flesh it out? I think the Matrix was a better story when it was just the first film. All the stuff about prophecy and the Source and how the machines came to be seems just... unnecessary. I thought it was pretty cool when it had this sense of history being just gone, totally unknown. The story of how the machines rose up destroys that, and the junk in the second two films takes it from cool sci-fi to unnecessary religious allegory.
So just got back from my Uni orientation.
Kinda hyped and kinda sad. I have to do a fuckton of boring prereqs (calculus maths all the way to the top, moar physics, no fun engineering stuff :c)
Buuut because the Aeronautics and Astronautics program at my school has so many awesome sounding classes like "Orbital and Space Flight Mechanics" or "Space Power Systems" or my favorite (OH MY GOD YES) "Fusion Reactor Fundamentals" I will gladly slog through two years of yuck to get those classes.
I do get to take a few classes im personally interested in during this fall quarter though. Having trouble deciding what, I'm thinking some of the astronomy classes like astrophysics but its not meant for Pre-Engineering majors and has little to no math so thats not any fun :/
Just started my job. Go to homes on appointment and install lightbulbs and aerators for 7 hours a day. Boss is really cool so me and my partner can just drive around after an appointment and hang around. 9 bucks an hour too, so that's awesome.
I sent my mom to gamestop to purchase watch dogs box copy and a dualshock 4 controller and they sold her a cd key and $70 game pad from last decade. Frauds!
...that is entirely your fault. why didn't you go yourself
I wouldn't count on my mom buying me the crisps I want, let alone buying video games and accessories.

I'm pretty sure I've read the whole wiki once or twice now. Every now and then one of the movies will show up on tv and it gets me going again. I wish there were more/better games and other media associated with it, but I'll take what I can get.

I respect this view, but disagree. A lot of the backstory is hidden in the first movie to begin with, the religious aspect in particular is shown right from the start, and much of the history is briefly glossed over in a way that shows that a lot of knowledge remains but is just kept from Neo/the audience.
I also liked the prequel history stuff a lot more than the sequels, because it gives us some really interesting pieces of information, and we get to see how humans tried to survive in the matrix before Neo was around. Having Neo act as a sort of living god in the second and third movies changed the whole focus and seemed to demote them from good sci-fi to regular action movies, and that didn't blend well with the plot and characters.
What I really want to see is some of the earlier matrices as well as more stories with the characters as they were before they encountered Neo. We never got to see a fully crewed hovercraft team go into the Matrix and successfully work as a unit, which was what I was really hoping to see when I first saw the film. Its the same thing I want to see with Colonial Marines in the Alien franchise, they're touted as badasses and then every interaction we see of them involves total death and failure, to make the xenos look even tougher.

I LOVE specific wikis for certain IPs because I love reading about backstory and lore and fleshed out universes. The thing I dislike about the Second Rennesonce short though is that I dont think the UN would deny the Machines from being a member. I feel like there might be a long deliberation about it but it would eventually be accepted and humans and machines would for the most part live in harmony, with perhaps some bad blood remaining over the initial uprising. I dont think the entirety of humanity is stupid enough to denounce a new race that they KNOW can and will be better than them when they are asking for peace and offering economic assistance.
I disagree with you about the Colonial Marines though. I think the whole point of them in Aliens is that THEY saw themselves as badasses, and had probably encountered xenomorphs before but maybe not as many or not a group being controlled by a queen so when it actually came time for them to test their mettle against a formidable foe they faltered and crumbled due to their hubris leaving Ripley, the only one who truly understood how dangerous and formidible the xenomorphs are, to be the only one who can stop the Queen. In all the other media with them though, I think they're misinterpreted and always come out as "Badass marines get taken out be even bad asser aliens"
