Reformatting my drive, and moved some RAM from the new machine that I got for free giving my main machine 16GB of sweet sweet RAM, and leaving the new machine with a modest 6GB of RAM. All the spare machine going to be doing is running virtual machines for servers anyway, and I might allot it some virtual RAM for shiggles because fuck the spare machine has a TB drive anyway so fuck it. Can't wait to hook up my shiny (albeit dated) Cisco 1760 too, making a pseudo server rack in my room out of a shelving unit I never use, and i'm FINALLY categorizing my airsoft gear after 5 years. It feels good being so neat and clean and OCD. [editline]10th September 2014[/editline] And then when I get paid for some work I did, here comes a Radeon R9 280x.
Well I finally got my 3d printer upgraded and reassembled. This one features 50% more proper soldering and 90% less hot glue! About to first tests lets see how it goes. If I only start one fire, or only have one electrical short, it was an excellent test! [editline]edit[/editline] also if I only burn one finger on the hotend at 180c its also going well [editline]10th September 2014[/editline] hotend wires need resoldering. Only work when I hold them in a certain position. Oh well, only one problem SO FAR [sp]I'm knocking furiously on wood[/sp]

Amazing grafics
I remember somebody here tried getting into figures but quit after only one because of how ridiculously difficult weaving 1/6th scale molle is.
That was me. They look so fucking badass and I bought one but I spent like seven hours with a pair of tweezers and hurt the tips of my fingers weaving all the tiny little MOLLE pouches. I don't what I expected, but yeah, it wasn't as cool as I thought it would be. The figure is okay, but they're too tall for my bookshelf selves and you can't pose them as easily as you'd imagine.
I have enough problems weaving normal sized MOLLE.
Quick reminder that tomorrow is 9/11. Keep your head on a swivel and be aware of what's going on around you, there's a lot of chatter in the .mil and LEO communities that an attack may be coming. Nothing confirmed but it's a perfect opportunity for ISIS to try something. Military bases all around are already on alert. Be safe out there and report any suspicious activities. Don't approach any unattended bags or containers, and if you see someone put a container down and just leave without it call that shit in. [editline]10th September 2014[/editline]
http://www.monkeydepot.com/DamToys_Spetsnaz_FBS_Alpha_Group_78015_p/dmb0035.htm
And on a completely unrelated note, why is he wearing a VDV telnyashka if he's Alfa?
for the same reason he's wearing a SKAT when he should actually be wearing an LShZ
So... the figure designer just had a lapse in attention to detail?
Time to turn out the tactical gear at work. Burlington Coat Factory Tactical Reaction Force. No terrorists allowed. Charlie don't shop.
I'm not advocating mass panic here. Just want people to remember the significance of tomorrow and keep ISIS' threats in the backs of their minds. Stay alert, stay vigilant, stay alive. No reason to put your life on hold and hide in your house all day long, just need to be aware of what's going on around you.

And on that note, someone on my friend's Facebook had this to say.
I feel its worth mentioning even as a lowly mall cop I am being advised to be on high alert for possible terror attacks, my supervisor supposedly received an intelligence email that states the DHS strongly suspects an imminent attack in the SW USA, majot targets including Phoenix, San Diego, Tucson, Albuquerque, and more. With the border being as unsecured as it is it does make sense for these states to be easy targets.
[editline]10th September 2014[/editline] Fuck, my merge
A lot of Canadian jihadis that go over to fight with ISIS and Al Nusra come from a nearby city, should I be worried?
Depends on your definition of worried. I wouldn't go full "grab rifle, head innawoods" mode over it, but it's certainly something to be aware of. Like I said, just stay alert, don't let your guard down, and live your life.
Haji don't shop : Operation Retail Rumble 14' - That would be a cool LP patch if anything like that existed. I've never worked in a place with the potential for serious violence. Our local mall is across the highway so I'd imagine if they had a shooter we'd go on business as usual or if it was really crazy we'd lock the doors and shelter in place until the Police gave us the okay. But Best Buy, Target and Burlington Coat Factory aren't what I'd call primary targets. Especially out here in the sticks. The only thing I prepare myself for are your typical medical emergencies.
i heard people talking about literally skipping school because they think isis is going to attack us or some shit since it's 9/11 tomorrow
I go to school in Detroit. I think ISIS is the least of my worries
I saw policia today guarding the airport with xXfuLL_Aut0Xx M4s and MP5Ks and UMPs and then I had to restrain myself from touching it again
I found an Afghanka winter set (jacket and pants with liner for each) and it's in my exact size, it was easier to find than VSR sets which people apparently will pay upwards of $400 for. Seller is in Ukraine. On the other hand I've been wanting an iPod Classic and now I hear it's discontinued so I don't know if it'll be hard to find one some time from now when I make more dosh. IT'S TEMPTING...Communism or Capitalism?
Well they're both made by Communists, so it doesn't matter (Soviet Russia vs Communist China)
So I traded my way up virtual items and now I have one that goes for 400 bucks. Oops?
I kind of want to buy a Defender II MOLLE and some cheap repro Multicam to get a start on a FSB loadout but I know there's better things to be spending my money on. If I had more than $2500 in the bank I'd probably do it, but I don't want to get too low on cash. Maybe with christmas money I can buy this shit and a Cyma AK to go with it.
So I traded my way up virtual items and now I have one that goes for 400 bucks. Oops?
The greatest feel.
You should just get a gun first and start playing, otherwise you're just kind of wasting your cash.
I'll probably just end up getting it all at the same time, as much as I would like to have the gear ahead of time to dress up as an Alfa operator for halloween. [editline]10th September 2014[/editline] Probably still going to chairsoft for a long time anyway when I do have a gun and gear.

[editline]10th September 2014[/editline] Probably still going to chairsoft for a long time anyway when I do have a gun and gear.
It just seems kind of ridiculous to spend several hundred dollars on something you've pretty much never done, especially because you don't know what kind of gear will work best for you. I mean, you're not really buying a loadout if the only thing you're planning to use if for is wallhanging and a costume.

The biggest and bulkiest of big bulky plate carriers may not be the smartest idea to start either, but we do have to take into account that wanting to look cool is part of airsoft, to a lesser or greater extent depending on who you talk to. And to me a big bulky Defender II looks cooler than a Smersh, ALICE rig or chest rig. [editline]10th September 2014[/editline] yes, I am more into airsoft for the cosplay element of it than anything else

I bet you they're getting ready just as much as they always do on 9/11, it's understandable to take some kind of stance on a day like that. We're not "on alert" in any way that I can tell however.
