I find it really hard to believe that's a full scale QBZ-95 made entirely out of paper.
[QUOTE=Herfjotur;46427343]Yeah, I was leaning to AK. I just worry about 922r compliance, I want to use foreign mags and furniture, so that makes things more difficult.[/QUOTE]
don't worry at all about 922r compliance. It's 100% unenforceable. First of all, the parts you put in your gun are not legally required to be marked in any way shape or form, so unless the ATF is going to do a bunch of metallurgic testing on every component of your gun (which would be misleading anyways because they are probably made from chinese steel, even if it's made in the US) there is literally no way to tell if a gun is 922r compliant or not.
Secondly, if you yourself are not building (manufacturing) the gun you are not responsible for making it 922r compliant.
If I change the furniture from American to Hungarian, it would no longer be compliant. I assume WASR's have TCG (3 parts), gas piston, muzzle brake, and pistol grip. That would mean changing the pistol grip to an import would put it at 11 foreign parts. I know its unlikely, but I want to stay 922r compliant.
Herf, I get away with a whole hell of a lot worse in NY.
You live in a gun friendly State and I 100% promise you that you will not ever be in a situation where having your gun 922r compliant will be an actual issue.

I'm going to say this again. You are not manufacturing the rifle, therefore you are not responsible for it being 922r compliant. The rifle comes from the factory compliant. You as the consumer can legally change any part you want for aftermarket ones.
Beside all that it is literally impossible to tell if the gun is 922r compliant or not.
[editline]7th November 2014[/editline]
people make WAY too big a deal out of 922r.
Got my wisdom teeth removed. They stuck an IV into my arm and went to work--I didn't feel a thing during the surgery.
Though now I'll have to see if the recovery will be painful enough to prevent me from finishing my essays
again, for emphasis, 922r only applies to the [I]manufacture[/I] of firearms.
[editline]7th November 2014[/editline]
If the ATF comes and knocks your door down, 922r is the least of your worries
It's pretty redundant at this point, but since Herf seems to really be worried about it that much, I'll throw in my $0.02 as well - 922r is a nonissue, don't worry about it bro. Do what you want with your gun. Unless it's something like an unregistered FA or SBR or AOD/DW, nobody's going to know or care about 922r and at that point 922r is going to be at the bottom of your list of things to be worried about.
Oh man I'm watching a shitty SyFy channel movie at 4AM and there's WE G39's, Echo 1 SCAR's, and hicaps everywhere.
That's why I don't miss having cable. SyFy has gone to shit ever since they changed their name. Most of their "original" movies are horrible low-budget affairs that look like a bunch of highschool kids with no real film experience threw them together.
Just out of curiosity, though, what's the name of it?

Dragon Wasps.
I love shitty movies like this though, so its all good, just so long as I know what I'm getting into ahead of time.
[QUOTE=Herfjotur;46427286]Also, AR or AK? Its time to buy a rifle.[/QUOTE]
To answer your original question: AK. I own both an AR and an AK, both around the $900 mark, so each of equal and good quality. As much as I like the fact that the AR is a modern, up-to-date weapon with a million different parts, I will always love the AK ten times more. There's a lot more of a passion to shooting the AK, you can feel what the gun is doing and it's almost an emotional experience. Shooting the AR is just punching holes in paper.
Weird gun emotions aside, you'll also find that AR's run stupidly dirty since the gas tube dumps straight into the upper receiver. I know it sounds cliche to say, but AR's do actually jam a lot. I know that sounds like a six-year-old Youtube commenter's argument, but having owned both, the AR jams regularly at the range. I'm almost 2500 rounds deep with the AK and not a single malfunction.
AK's are also a lot easier to clean and work on, since the bolt carrier group is literally three pieces. Trigger group is equally simple. Everything is a lot more straightforward with the AK system so if you need to fix something in the field, it's extremely easy.
I much prefer my AK to my AR. I'd take it any day of the week.
As for your 922r questions, mine is compliant so I can help if you don't want to dodge regulation. AK's have 16 parts applicable under 922r, so you need 6 US made parts. The magazine counts for 3 parts and the FCG counts for 3 parts, so as long as you have a US made mag and trigger assembly, you're good to go.
AT&T is phasing out the DSL service I currently have and with their current promotion I'll be getting 4 times the bandwidth for $3 less than I'm paying now for a year, and then after that it'll only be $7 more than I'm paying now.
I'm okay with this.
I have a love/hate relationship with being in a big city. on one hand, I miss shooting in the country and little farmhouses and having moose and deer in our yards.
But fuck me if being able to see Interstellar in ACTUAL FUCKING 70MM FILM AT A REAL IMAX doesn't help me a little bit. Going sunday, can't wait!
The country is free. The city will cost you.
I enjoy being able to casually unload my Mosin/Mossberg/Marlin/Winchester into the field behind my house without being bothered.

holy shit
Cities are nice because most shit is in walking distance and you can meet cool people but I'd rather visit a city for short periods of time than live there. It's expensive, more assholes/bullshit to deal with since it's dense.
I'd rather live in the country where there's more freedom.
Except where I live in Massachusetts, there's no place to shoot guns except for the people who live deeper in the woods. I can hear their guns all the time. On the plus side, being surrounded by beaches gives the area the benefit of a smaller population and no ghetto bullshit. My HS was an open campus with ~1,000 kids, surrounded by woods with the beach just down the street.
I got a 62 on my first physics test and my most recent physics test. Thing is, average for first one was 75.
This one the average was 58. Hell yeah for being barely better than average! Hopefully should pull my grade up significantly, this first quarter has been hella tough
[editline]8th November 2014[/editline]
I honestly wonder if I stress too much, but i do need at least a 3.4 to get into the Aero department.
And yeah, Country > City but I'd like to have the access to a big city if possible, Spokane (my hometown) is an odd mix of city/country so its got both which I love

I just saw interstellar. Holy shit...it's one of those movies that makes you think WAY TOO HARD and it's so ridiculously deep and complicated...
[editline]8th November 2014[/editline]
Entertaining as shit tho
Soo, in about 2 months I'll be able to legally own a 125cc motorbike without a bike license.
Too bad I won't be able to afford one anytime soon.
I'm going to move to either Colorado, Oregon, or Washington in the next few years. Right now I'm just doing lots of research on them, their weather, etc. I live in Arkansas which is actually great, just not really great. It's a more cost-effective plan to stay here but I want to move away. As it stands I live in a house my dad is renting to me and a friend, my dad is my boss and is paying me poorly for the kind of work I'm doing (producing all of their TV and online advertising). Just ready to start my career in the actual design world not for my dad. He still talks like oh yeah you'll own the company some day (retail flooring and furniture sales) but I reeeeaaaallly have no desire to. He's also convinced I'm going to make him an offer on this house lol.
Things I'm looking for:
•Low humidity
•Insane mountain bike trails
•Suburbs with possible 1hr proximity to a large city (not much closer)
•Not incredibly intense 2ft+ snow winters
I've got one class remaining to graduate and then It's the waiting game for my girlfriend to graduate...and then there's the whole proposal thing.

oh hey
I wonder what stupid shit 11 year old me was saying at that time
[editline]8th November 2014[/editline]
come to colorado!!!!
So, I've come to a fork in the road on my journey to AKM ownership. One road leads to the WASR, for $479, and the other leads me to a Bulgarian AK74 for $469. That's one hell of a deal on the 74, I don't know if I can pass it up.
ak74 because og
finding 5.45 could be death tho??
[editline]8th November 2014[/editline]
unless russia invades
then you're good
5.45 is almost as cheap and plentiful as 7.62x39
One of my friends can make me a Ak underfolder for 600 bones
I can't put all the nifty surplus on the 74 though. First purchase for the WASR would be Balkan War pickup furniture.
