I really like CoD: Advanced Warfare.
I really like how it handles because there's an entire new axis that you need to play on, up and down.
In the older CoD games, you never really had to aim up or down a whole lot because everyone was at about the same level.
However, now with all these new jumping and boosting mechanics, you have people going everywhere and you gotta pull all kinds of crazy fucking maneuvers to get them.
Kinda feel's like I'm playing Quake again.
I was kinda excited for the game because I played so much Titanfall but now that I tried it out it's just a worse Titanfall imo. You should check it out if you haven't.

My Shadowrun group just started a 5e game of D&D using the campaign setting they released.
We're still waiting on the DM guide and monster manual to come out so we can properly do our own thing.
welcome to the "I had plans with a girl tonight but I decided to play DnD instead" side.
Don't question it. Just let it roll over you.
Played my first DnD game yesterday and my girlfriend tagged along. She played many times before me and showed me the ropes. Also, we were playing Star Wars Saga Edition.

this is the clip that sold me on the show
i knew from this point on the show would be good

Oh you guys are playing Next? I heard it's better than 4e.
I really am not a big fan of 4e despite being part of a 4e group tbh. It's very videogamey and skill challenges are very no.

Star Wars Saga? That sounds pretty neato as long as like.. not everyone you see is jedis.
We all agreed not to be Jedi, we're just being space pirates that take jobs from whoever. We had the fourth session last night.
So this is a thing.

Fucking awesome.

It is miles ahead of 4e in my opinion.
Other than Shadowrun we typically play 3e and D20 modern.
This is all Greek to me. :(
geek more like
heh
i'll show myself out
Well, turns out I ended up writing two and a half pages about Vasili Zaitsev in my Soviet history paper. Although I guess that's not a bad thing.

The Star Wars campaign we're doing is hilarious. Our party consists of Otto from the Simpsons, except with a tendency to charge into a battle with his blaster blazing, a shapeshifting alien whose most common form is that of George Costanza, a failed (too effective) battle droid prototype known as the Universal Nonorganic Combat Logistics Engine (UNCLE), and a Dressellian who was sent to Space Siberia to work in a labor camp but managed to escape and joined the party (me). Since Dressellians are basically Space Russians and their primary weapon is a very cheap slugthrower (guns that fire bullets in Star Wars), I put on a Russian accent while playing. I built my character using a different rule book, so my weapon was changed to the Star Wars equivalent of an S&W M29. On my first ever attack, I blew someone's head up with it! :v:
[editline]16th November 2014[/editline]
Also, have any of you tabletop players played Twilight 2000? The idea of roleplaying as a NATO soldier in a very recently post-nuclear attack Eastern Europe trying to escape the war sounds really exciting.
Would space siberia just be kessel?
Better be playing that lizardman barbarian, friend
My character is most likely going to be something silly, the current idea is that I'll be Paladdin the Paladin and mispronounce everything, but I also feel tempted to be Hugh Mann as some sort of non-human race, or My Guy purely so I can roleplay by saying "My Guy picks up the thing" and other assorted bullshit.

Never played the game, but I used one of the sourcebooks (Rapid Deployment Force) to write out '80s Soviet invasion of Iran scenarios

I looked at a D20 modern book one time and it seemed kind of convoluted?? But this was way back when before I got into shadowrun.

Holy fuck. That sounds pretty damn awesome.
Both the campaign and Twilight 2000, I gotta look it up.

Paladins are very hard to play in a roleplay sense tbh because DnD groups naturally kind of move towards [del]evil[/del] not-good, and if you're a lawful good paladin then you're gonna be Judge Dredd and be pissed off the whole time.

It's essentially D&D 3e modified into a modern setting with different character building and wealth systems.
The core rule book (not sure which edition) seems like it crams a players handbook, a dm guide, and a monster manual into one package.
It's actually pretty straightforward to set up and play.

Ah okay because in our group we have a "GM rotation"
So like, we rotate GMs after campaigns and the guy after me wants to do a "Miami Vice inspired D20 Modern Detective campaign"
I have PDFs of a bunch of d20 Modern, some Werewolf game, VtM, VtR, etc. books. I don't even know where I got them. I think a friend sent them to me back years ago when he wanted me to get into tabletop with him and I just haven't ever actually done anything with them.
