Guess what came in yesterday. [t]http://i.imgur.com/UQMfpN6.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/PUDxYde.jpg[/t] I'm really happy with the way this pistol looks and feels. Plus, it's got those cool Italian proof markings the American Berettas don't have. [t]http://i.imgur.com/M9SFLF5.jpg[/t] Only cons I've noticed out of the box are the shitty, almost non-existent sights, and the awkward magazine catch location. [t]http://i.imgur.com/j9abmQS.jpg[/t] These sights are for ants.
Yeah, when I shot a Beretta 92 I hated the sights on that thing. I already couldn't hit shit because it was the first gun I ever shot, but those sights made it even worse.
Hey, I'll gladly take your cold. I love the frigid temperatures and snow. Right now it's at that gross period where it's like 35 degrees so everything is wet from the rain and constantly in danger of icing over.
Same here in Missouri. For some reason, it won't just get to that cold, dry state where it's like 0 degrees everyday and instead it's been raining for two weeks straight but it's just above freezing so everything is wet and cold and this fucking sucks. [editline]10th December 2014[/editline] This is definitely PCU weather tho. [editline]10th December 2014[/editline]
Only cons I've noticed out of the box are the shitty, almost non-existent sights, and the awkward magazine catch location.
I was so close to buying one of these, but I already have muscle memory for the M9 mag release so I know the release of that one would fuck with me so hard. [editline]10th December 2014[/editline]
What gear do you run? I'm using Dynastar Cham 87's (172cm) which are Rocker/Camber for good all-round performance. I haven't been in the deep pow you see at places like Stevens pass, but based on my experience with tree runs at Mt. Spokane they should work fine. My main complaint is that since the tail is flat, doing any park maneuver or flipping backwards results in my rear tips immediately diving into the snow like a submarine. I used to be on snowblades until last season though, what do I know about real skiing
I'm going for my bi-annual snowboarding trip up in Whitefish, Montana in a few weeks. I'm so fucking pumped. I've really grown to love Whitefish and Montana in general (for skiing, I already loved it as a place) because it's a lot less...finished. Everything up there is just kind of like a outpost, no shopping malls at the summit or traffic jams on the slopes like you find in Colorado and Utah. Guess I can't be too mad at the crowds on the slopes. Wanting to get away from them was what forced me to try backcountry and closed terrain snowboarding and it's all I do now.

Im very very excite :v:
Good to know, Im heading up to Whitefish later this year for some cat-skiing. Im very very excite :v:
Whitefish is the shit. Have you been there yet?
Whitefish is the shit. Have you been there yet?
Nope, never been out to Montana at all, actually. Im no stranger to skiing out west though, Ive been to Lake Tahoe (Squaw, Heavenly, couple others), Colorado (Vail, Copper, Steamboat), British Columbia (Whistler-Blackcomb), and Utah (Snowbird, Alta, Canyons, couple others). My dad has been to Big Sky and I think a few other places in Montana, but this is the first time Ill be in a position to go.
Multiple choice physics final oh god why With free response in that subject, pass/fail is gradient. When it comes to multiple choice on physics finals, you walk the razors edge between pass/fail. There was only one free response, but it was on orbital mechanics and how burning and velocity changes affected your orbit. Thank god for KSP, I aced that

You're in for a treat if it's you're first time going, it's the tits. Not so crowded, but also not completely barren and lacking necessities either. The backcountry is incredible there though, pretty much anywhere you turn off the trail, you're bound to run into some incredible shit. Definitely a very well set up mountain as well.
here's a leaf thing for now from my intro class last spring:
It's a leaf spring ho ho he he ha ha
The backcountry is incredible there though, pretty much anywhere you turn off the trail, you're bound to run into some incredible shit.
Thats what Ive heard, which is why we decided on the cat-skiing. Im not sure how much time we are actually going to spend on the mountian itself, actually. We intend to be in the backcountry pretty much the whole time :v: Im probably gonna have to rent some super-fat skis because my current fat skis probably arent fat enough for Montana backcountry powder :v:
I've been up to my neck in powder a few times there, it's good shit.
It's a leaf spring ho ho he he ha ha
gadammit lol I just finished this, giving it to my mom for Christmas: It's a bit of an oddity since it's a locket that isn't designed specifically to hold anything. It was really more of a technical practice than anything since it was my first attempt at a hinge between two hydraulic-formed pieces. We used a laser cutter to cut the dies for the hydraulic press which was sweet.
So have any of you guys checked soulbrothanumbuh3? His content is solid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O94dW2gtfP0
My English class this semester has been taught with a focus on "art", but what our teacher really means by "art" is "paintings and sculptures." It's been okay so far but this final research paper is really no bueno. We were to choose topics and relations, so I chose to find some kind of correlation between art and communism (mistake) in a vain attempt to dodge the topic and talk about historical context instead. As a part of the prompt, we're only to cite "journals and scholarly work", and since it's a 3-unit class, that basically means we're to exclusively use JSTOR and EBSCO. Little did I know there is basically nothing written on Russian artists or even on Eastern European artists as a whole. Rest in fucking peace. I share that minor detail with my teacher and he goes on give me a peptalk and show me two different abstract artists (Kandinsky and Chagall), citing their popularity as a reason for why there probably is stuff written about them, instead of showing me concrete proof...but fuck. It's an English class. English 1. In enrolling for that class, especially not having known the focus would be [an impossibly narrow slice of] "art", how can it reasonably be expected that I come prepared with the tools to analyze shit like this: [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d1/Marc_Chagall,_1911,_I_and_the_Village,_oil_on_canvas,_192.1_x_151.4_cm,_Museum_of_Modern_Art,_New_York.jpg[/t] My teacher says that isn't abstract. He's right, it isn't. I suppose there are intelligible...items, but what the shitting dicksock christ kind of LSD do I need to take to understand this, nevermind meaningfully link it with the historical context. [editline]10th December 2014[/editline] ladies and gentlemen, a few pieces from the most famous eastern artist of all time [t]http://www.jackygallery.com/images/Les%20Amoureux%20de%20Vence%20by%20Marc%20Chagall%20OSA240.jpg[/t] [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a2/Chagall_Circus.jpg[/t] [t]http://www.antiquity.tv/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/marc-chagall-rain-1911.jpg[/t] next up: my childhood fingerpainting collection...

Not only for the source itself, but when you find something that somebody else has written on a deceased artist they've inevitably done lots of research as well and you can use THEIR sources as a great starting point. Old journals are great sources because they're basically just old magazines that an interested individual wrote for. and read them footnotes
Wow the fucking severe weather in California helped me this semester, my school got shut down and the final that I was suppose to take tomorrow got canceled. The teacher sent out an email saying that he wants to give everyone a 100% on the final. One actual final test left and 3 papers left, that I'm almost done with.
I've been hearing about the "storm of the century" that's supposed to be hitting us right now and all I've got on my end is moderately strong wind
I think one of those life changing moments may be coming around again. I want to do something. I don't know what yet. Deputy Sheriff or joining the military or something. I want to do that cool shit I always watch others do.
I've been hearing about the "storm of the century" that's supposed to be hitting us right now and all I've got on my end is moderately strong wind
Same, I have a feeling the storm is a bit exaggerated.
I've been having this problem at work where I want to carry my watchcap and gloves around with me because sometimes I don't need them and sometimes I do and it's a pain in the ass to walk back to the office to get them or to stuff it all into my jacket pockets. Than I realized I still had my Condor Tactical Pants that I bought when I worked AP at Best Buy. I've been wearing 5.11 Covert Khaki's which are nice because they're just black slacks with hidden pockets for my headphones and shit. I'm gonna wear the Tac Pants tomorrow and see how I like it and how it looks. I can carry my cap in the cargo pockets, my gloves can hang off a grimlock on one of the buckles and than I have extra room too for other odds and ends like my mini-medi kit. It also has a stand-alone pen pocket which is really useful because I keep my Kershaw in my right pocket and I couldn't really put my pen in there too.
Good lord I forgot how bad the airsoft scene in my hometown is. The scene is hella healthy in seattle, like three groups with 1000+ members. one of them runs weekly games every sunday and one of them does massive games once a month. The one here does tiny CQB games every friday, so I'm gonna run down and take a look but thats about it for airsoft. Their rules are hella strict too, FPS cap were at 350 (they got in trouble with mall for punching holes) but since moving to a new venue maybe they raised it. Might get gun chrono'd too.
I don't think you really need more than 350 for CQB anyway...
The general consensus is that 350 FPS and below is considered "CQB velocities"
Same, I have a feeling the storm is a bit exaggerated.
OK so it finally arrived and is pretty intense, but I still think "storm of the century" is a gross exaggeration
You guys are lucky, my CQB field limit is 1 joule, or 330fps with a .2g, so pretty much every gun you can buy nowadays needs a spring swap off the bat. I will just say that I've also done CQB at 400fps with .25g's, and it is definitely less fun to be hit.
Only one more final for this semester and then I'm free. And I should have my new computer by the end of the month. So excited right now. [editline]11th December 2014[/editline] After my computer I'm not sure if I want to save up some money to make airsoft shit or a real gun my next major purchase. They're both probably going to end up costing a similar price. Either a Cyma AK modded out FSB style, a Gorka, Smersh, Defender 2 and MICH helmet for airsoft stuff, or for real steel a Type 97 with a few 10 round AR pistol mags and a couple .50 Beowulf mags because fuck being limited to 5 rounds when I can legally have 10 or 15. Either way, neither of these are probably happening until after I finish university unless by some miracle I don't have to live in the dorms for my last year because that's the only way I'll have somewhere I can legally keep an airsoft AK or an evil black Chinese assault weapon with high capacity assault clips.
a type 97 what is the thing actually chinese or is it some chinese (:v:) knockoff?
It's the export version of the QBZ-95, so yes it is Chinese. Pretty much the cheapest "tactical" rifle you can get in Canada. There may be some cheaper AR-15 variants you can get in Canada, but I don't want to fuck around with restricted firearms because there's too much effort involved.
im thinking of asking my parents to cancel my Amtrak reservation and just let me drive back to uni. Its a five hour drive through what can be a treacherous pass, but I have a decent amount of winter driving experience. I really want the extra mobility and freedom it would give me, I want to airsoft but I have no way to get the games outside of Seattle. I can't bring my guns to seattle anyways with how I travel now, and if I parked my truck at my aunts house (a short bus or walk off campus) I could leave 1-2 guns in her garage and just leave my gear in the back of my truck or something. I suggested it but they are none too keen. They are a bit worried, and I understand, but it seems silly for them to leave my truck sitting out in our gravel parking pad just rusting. I paid for that truck, the title is in my name, and I'd like to have it. And I am totally worried about doing that drive by myself, I've never driven in big-city traffic like Seattle would have. I'm more worried about traffic than the pass actually What do :/ [editline]12th December 2014[/editline] oh and about 6-7 of the other dudes in my cluster are going to rent a house next year and have invited me to stay with them, so my guns+gear+truck would only be at my aunts house for a while i mean honestly as i start applying to aero internships I'm gonna need a car, boeing and most of the aero companies are north of seattle and take too long to reach by bus. better sooner than later, that way i can get used to driving in city traffic. Also, it makes coming home for the holidays way easier!
My secret Santa sent me these adorable little babby HK's, they're so cute <3 Now I really need to get myself a 1:6 scale gun rack, I'm up to 4 of these little buggers.
