I tried but I couldn't actually bring myself to not read that to the tune of "sunglasses at night"
Lol, the cute girl who lives next door to me needs me to set up her Wii for her.
On the subject of gun assholes, I was at the gun store the other day and this guy was looking at some of the arm brace stocks. All of a sudden some guy walks up to him and says "you can't use that it's illegal", at which point I knew exactly where it was going.
The guy says "I'm a game warden and if I see you using one of those things I'm calling the police". The store owner notices at this point and tells him he can go ahead, he can't change the law, but this guy wouldn't hear it.
He argued with the customer and the employees and owner for probably 20 minutes until they opened the package, showed him the signed ATF letter, and then he stormed out yelling about the fact that it was "still illegal" by his law because he's the game warden.

I was gonna make a joke about teaching people to waggle wiimotes, but I thought it would be lame.
So I bought 200 rounds of Monarch 7.62x54r ammunition for my mosin, and planned a range trip.
I get to the range, and the owner asks me to show my ammo, fair enough.
He get a magnet out and says you can't shoot this ammo since it has a steel core in it.
wat
(Monarch ammo doesn't have a steel core, it's magnetic because it is Bi-Metal, which isn't AP)
I try to tell him that it is Bi-Metal, and he keeps on saying "The Magnet doesn't lie"
Whatever, so I ask if he has any ammo for sale that I can use, he pulls out some Silver bear and brown bear and then he says "Can't use this either, I ain't gonna let you shoot that mosin."
So, he basically tells me I should just buy rentals instead, I decide why not and rent a 12 gauge, so I buy a couple boxes and go on my way, but whilst I was putting my protection on, another couple walks in with a 9mm glock, and he tells them that their ammo is armor piercing, and says you can't shoot your gun, you should buy a rental, they do and I go on my way shooting the 12 gauge.
I don't know if he is just stupid, or if he is trying to fuck people over.
What is he trying to do?
Local range told me they've recently banned bimetal jacket ammo due to backstop damage. I left my AK in the car, refused to buy their ammo, shot just my shotgun I brought, and won't be frequenting that range ever again.
You got bullshitted to get you to spend more money. That's pretty low.
http://www.uspsa.org/front-sight-magazine-article.php?Should-I-Buy-BiMetal-Ammo-8
This is interesting though. He figures out what a bi-metal round actually is and tests to see if it would harm the firearm itself.
you should show him how mad you are and shoot up the targets at night

make sure you pick up all the brass for the next people who come though dont be rude
On the topic of bad range trips, we went to this new indoor range to check it out. Brought my AK along because I haven't gotten to shoot it very much. They have a rule where all rifles have to fire ammo bought at the range. I say whatever, I'll get 60 rounds and let that be that. Turns out the ammo they were selling was the exact same TulAmmo I brought with me, except it cost $1 more per box. After I went through the stuff I got from them, I started using my own stuff. The range warden came over and gave me a talking, so we left after that.
I took my younger brother shooting as a christmas gift, and they were charging almost a dollar per round of 7.62. We rented a saiga, so we could only use range ammo. That was some bullshit.
I think somewhere along the path of trying to fit in more and stand out less as smart (mostly because I was tired of helping and answering questions so much I couldn't do my own work) I became an average joe and lost my work ethic. Also, my entire school career has been a saga of me procrastinating and lacking the motivation and focus to ever complete a task I set out to do. I don't think I've ever finished a class being able to say I truly worked my hardest. But I feel so set in my habits now that I can't even change.
I mean, yeah I've finished most of my math homework 3 days ahead of time, but I still managed to forget about my two physics assignments until the last second. Which while I would like to attribute to not having a whiteboard to write my assignments down on (thanks for losing my shit UPS) just really falls back on me.
I'm thinking about all of this as I debate dropping from Honors Physics to the regular section. I've never quite a class halfway through a year or series, and I don't want to start now. But if it destroys my grade I can kiss my aerospace career goodbye. So do I choose to work my hardest in an all-or-nothing gamble or resign to the easier path? I can learn quantum and relativistic physics and stuff I've dreamed of learning, but at what cost to my future? Or is this a sign that if I can't handle simple physics and math, orbital mechanics and aerospace plasmas are certainly something I shouldn't even consider?
I'm worried and having to make some uncomfortable realizations about what kind of person and student I am, and don't know where to turn except introspectively. And I'm feeling dumb.

a buck a round for 7.62x39????
holy shit they must be making a fucking killing
My local indoor range is pretty lenient on what you shoot as far as I know. They started allowing steel-core ammo and I was always allowed to use my own ammo for my shotgun. They used to have an "our ammo only" policy, but they stopped doing that a couple years ago.

Where dis
I've decided I am going to be saving up for an AMD-65, at the range I did get to shoot one, and holy shit I love it.
You would think it looks uncomfortable because the stock is a 1 wire stock, but it is extremely strong and the way I look down at my sights it doesn't bother me that I can't rest my cheek.
hnng, I want one right now.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
I fucking hate indoor ranges with a burning passion. $15-$20 entry fee, ridiculous ammo restrictions, limited time, dick RSOs, short ranges, loud as fuck, it all sucks.
There's a free, unstaffed, outdoor range near me and it's everything I ever wanted.

Finished my first plastic model since 2013. Airfix's English Electric Lightning F.2A, such a beautiful airplane that I totally overlooked as a kid because I thought it looked like a bloated fish.

Speaking of ranges, my friends want to go fire their first guns, but the only other driver isn't willing to drive to a range that I have gone to and is bigger than the one we're going to on Wednesday. The range that I prefer is called target masters and is about 30-60 minutes away depending on traffic, but the one we're planning on going to, is like 10-15 minutes away and called Jackson arms.
The thing is that Jackson arms has a safety test for people who rent guns, I unfortunately do not own any guns because my parents have the guns are very dangerous mindset, the safety test is loading and unloading a pistol, even if you're renting a rifle, and if you fail to do so or the employee thinks you're doing it wrong in any manner, they won't let you and your group shoot. They then ask you to take their class, which you have to pay for, and the class will not be on the same day.
According to yelp reviews, Jackson arms allows double tapping and just general unsafe conduct
I really hate how this range is the only one that is decently close and happens to be the one with stupid logic.

That is a really neat aircraft. I finished my first model I'm proud of a while ago, a Tamiya Walker Bulldog that I actually tried to weather and detail.
-snip-
I rectified it by doing the following for my truck first aid situation;
Turned my Adventure Medical 2.0 into a trauma kit which has all the serious stuff in it. Quikclot, SWAT-T, Gauze Pads/Rolls/Sponges, Gloves etc. and the biggest issue I had was that I wanted to incorporate a Cinch Tight since I think they're great but they're super big so it didn't fit. Than I realized Israeli bandages are practically the same thing so I ordered one of those and they're half as big.
Than I ordered another 0.5 pocket first aid kit to put all my "Boo-Boo" stuff in like band aids and such which can go in my center console and stay there. Basically a carbon copy of what I take to work everyday.
Next I'm gonna order a little fire extinguisher.

At the start of my school year I was in an honors calculus class and couldn't do jack shit. I was failing the class and was ridiculously stressed by it but eventually dropped down to the normal class. At least for me it was pretty much the same material, but at a slower pace which really helped my understanding of the subject. I don't know if it'd be the same case for you and a physics class but what I can attest to is that it's not about being dumb, or the material per say, but the pacing of it. I've aced the class since, due to the fact that more time is spent in the lower level class understanding the subjects, but not to the point where it's easy and boring.

I agree with all that but here in northern Virginia there aren't any free public ranges within a reasonable distance. The NRA headquarters has a range so I'll probably go shoot there next.

you should totally get some decal solvent because the cockpit warning labels and tail number are silvering like fuck
What was the name of that really cool, yet affordable tabletop game with all the cool tabletop models to paint? It think they were Mechs or something? Dust I think?
[editline]12th January 2015[/editline]
Actually any cool tabletop where I can assemble models and paint them that's not 40k size (bigger is better) or price would be the tits
[editline]12th January 2015[/editline]
The less skin I have to paint the better
