haha yeah so I got an 85 cumulative on my AP Physics final. which actually dropped me from 79.1 to 78.1 and 78.4 after extra credit
what has me panicking now that is that my GPA is fucked (hopefully 3.5 after finals, 3.16 currently). 3.5 isn't bad but even with my SAT scores I doubt I can get into University of Washington.

What kind of SAT scores are we talking about?
What kind of SAT scores are we talking about?
1890 (720 reading, 580 writing, 590 math). I retook it after some pretty intense studying and a Writing + Math class and I'm pretty sure I raised my score at least 100 points if not more (please I hope I don't have to eat my words).
UW likes a 3.6 and at least a 2000 at that GPA level. So, we'll see

not high hopes though. They don't have high in-state admissions because of tuition costs. Which is bullshit, its a state-run school so it should be mostly Washington state residents.
I do have our high schools rating going for us, we have the highest rating of any public school on the eastern side of washington. Which is a lot bigger than the western side :D
1890 is not bad at all.
oh no, its pretty good. But its just not quite good enough so I can't just coast into that university. I can get into the other universities around here just fine, like Gonzaga and EWU
Isn't 2,000 just the average SAT score?

average is approximately 1540

Well there you go.

Nononono.
You need to make a fire from something, preferably stuff that isn't supposed to be burned, inhale the fumes, get out a cheap guitar and pretend like you know what you're doing, THEN drink vodka. Bonus points for using sweatshirts as blankets.
University of Washington admission stats
Percent of Applicants Admitted: 58%
Test Scores -- 25th / 75th Percentile
SAT Critical Reading: 510 / 650
SAT Math: 570 / 700
SAT Writing: 520 / 640
And here is a nice scatter plot from cappex.com

Keep in mind, that this only applies to incoming freshmen. If you can't get in this year, I highly advise going to community college for 1-2 semesters and working your ass off, as opposed to going to a less interesting university. Normally, after 1 full year at community, colleges no longer give a shit about your high school performance.
Also, if you're taking out loans, you'll be saving yourself a ton of money by spending some time at a community college.
Lets just say money isn't an issue, since I'm a rich little shit. But yeah, I've considered community college if I don't get in. The problem is that University of Washington has the only really good aeronautical and astronautical department in the entire state

still grounded all summer though it appears

Well even with there being no financial consideration, the main reason why I don't think there's any reason to go to a good school immediately is because your first year or so consists either entirely or almost entirely of dull core classes.
Normally these classes are done with massive class sizes, and they're often taught by teacher's aides rather than by professors themselves. By doing them at a community college, you actually get a better understanding of the topic, and normally you have an easier workload to go with it. In fact, my first English class in community college is THE reason why I've aced every other paper I've had to write in school so far.
Now I can definitely understand that this might not sound good enough for rich parents, but trust me when I say it does a great job for personal education.

They say if I go to community college they essentially won't pay for me to transfer, as its just another excuse for me to slack off. So its not a big option but we'll see
Well tell your parents to stop being pants-on-head retarded
does anyone know what the new FP post limit is per thread? its more than 10,000 definitely
That'll go over well. My father is a far-right conservative he takes pride in the fact that he took no government handouts getting his medical degree and never before when he was poor (but ignores the fact that my multimillionaire uncle loaned him money for school, a house, and vacations). They won't let me join the military or ROTC programs because it is a "waste of my potential" and while I understand and accept discipline, grounding me for a grade in a class that they never took that is extremely challenging and an AP Class becomes especially ridiculous when applied to a whole summer
Any arguments against it get shut down because they refuse to have a rational debate. Same with ROTC, my dad just tells me to shut the hell up and threatens to knock me out if I keep talking about it. Okaaayyy

I'm not trying to say "oh poor me my life is so rough" but having rich parents doesn't equal automatic fun times and greatness. My father promised me 7 years ago to take me golfing and still hasn't capitalized on his promise. w/e, i'm not interested anymore
just got around to watching Dredd
Judgement time
that was one hell of a fun time, oh man why dont we have more movies like that

Apparently. Like hell I'm letting them affect my life decisions- as much of a trope as it is for teenagers to say this- ITS MY DAMN LIFE

I'm just pureblooded 'merican. (okay, russian german and irish, and all I got from that is a family history of alcoholism :c)
I'll be fine, my parents will relent on the no games policy when they see how hard I've worked and hopefully get my new SAT scores back.

FUCK SCHOOL NIGGAS DONT GIVE A FUCK YOLO #based #rare
Bitch please school is a pain in the ass but the relatively high wages (or the awesome careers in the military as an officer) make school worth it.
Minimum wage in my state: $9/hr
Average STARTING salary for aerospace engineer: $40/hr to $50/hr
school is easy as fuck its not a pain
im just tired of going to it and im pretty much guaranteed college acceptance cause im smart as fuck but i dont want to be part of the system cause im a fucking retard.
I have a high SAT (2350) but my GPA is in a meh place right now. The good standardized testing scores might work out in my favor because they suggest that my school is very challenging, but I'm worried that all I can do well is take tests. I usually kill in standardized testing, but I'm such a lazy bum that I'll probably crash and burn in college.
I had another IFAP dream
4 of you were at my house for another sleepover, it was Fish, Felix, Deathmog and I'm pretty sure Herf.
We were all sleeping in one bed and we were all calling each other by our usernames.
I was next to Fish and Felix with Herf and deathmog at the other end, we were all in airsoft gear but started to get our PJ's on and then my dad came into the room to say goodnight. I was like,
"Hey dad, these are my friends from the interet"
He looked at me and everyone else in the one bed and i said
"Hey dad c'mon, it's not gay"
Then we all laughed and he went out and that was like it.
