• Great bands that died young.

Buffalo Springfield were only around for like 4 years. It would have been cool if they stuck together for a few more. They were way ahead of their time and almost every artist in the mid sixties borrowed from their unusual style. However, every one of the band members were stylistically different and all wanted the band to go in a different direction; you can hear some of the differences in these songs: For What It's Worth Broken Arrow Good Time Boy Buffalo Springfield may have borrowed a little too much from the Rolling Stones in this song. They ended up losing a pretty big lawsuit on this one if I remember correctly. And admittedly it sounds almost exactly like Stones' "Satisfaction".
The Jonas Brothers
Joy Division. I know it's already been said.
Metallica died after only 5 years. 4 years if we're talking from when they actually did stuff.
91. They didn't have the same touch on black, but they were still true to their roots and made a good metal album, and put on a good show. For me, metallica died with james's voice. And when lars stopped playing the bass right on harvester of sorrow.
isis represent
I agree, although 13 years is decent!
jimi hendrix is an obvious answer as far as individual artists go as for bands I'd say Hendrix Emerson Lake and Palmer died before it officially started :(
The Jimi Hendrix Experience was a band though.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience was a band though.
Except the other members didn't actually die young.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience was a band though.
that's why I wrote "jimi hendrix" and not "the jimi hendrix experience" and then went on to say "as far as individual artists go" reading is magical, kids, stay in school also where's the love for buddy holly
The Youngbloods. :saddowns: Really great 60's music..
Jimi Hendrix The Who The Guess Who Guns N Roses
I call them "Axl Rose & Friends" now. [editline]13th November 2010[/editline] Also, I'm not sure if this counts as dying young seeing as they were Black Sabbath from 1980-82, but Heaven & Hell definitely had a promising future until Dio died.
The "real" AC/DC :(
Bon Scott! Also even more weird is that no one have mentioned the beatles yet.
Sepultura. They went to hospital when Beneath The Remains came out, got shot in the face when Arise cameout, nearly recovered with Chaos AD when they were buried alive on Roots. Against was merely cremating the ashes. There is no hope.
Dieing is great for record sales. Heres the proof>
Holy fuckin' shit i love Goldie Looking Chain.
Bon Scott! Also even more weird is that no one have mentioned the beatles yet.
I assure you the Beatles didn't die young considering their legacy at least
I was going to say Godspeed You! Black Emperor, but apparently they got back together.
They're just doing a reunion tour. I may see them.
I assure you the Beatles didn't die young considering their legacy at least
I meant more like their time together. 60-70 Thats only 10 years they played together as a group and only 8 year with Ringo.
Cliff Burton Fucking tour bus drivers man
Cream, with Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker
