J Dilla, one seriously talented, influential and unique producer and artist who collaborated with some big names but never really got the mainstream recognition I think he deserved. He's one of the few musicians I could quite happily sit back and listen to all day.

The thread is about bands who had their lifespan cut short and never got to make more music. Fair enough for Randy Rhoads but as you said Ozzy Osbourne continues to this day to make music (rather disappointing music too) so he doesn't really belong in this thread
