Class average on mechanics test: 16/35.
My score: 17/35.
Yesss
what year are you in?
Senior. I'll probably be sticking around a 5th year to fit in a math major though since I'll already be around an extra semester because of how quantum mechanics is scheduled.

Does your scores get scaled on a bell curve?
Not sure if it's a bell curve exactly but the tests are curved

You've already got your Bachelor's degree?
Sometimes I wish I studied physics, too bad my university required like 90% A's to get accepted into it. I had some percentage below it.
Over here, all you need to start a graduation in Physics is a 9.5 average out of 20 :v:
Oh god the webpage for the advance quantum mechanics class at our school is ugly.

Wow disregard my want to study physics, dem exams looks worse than the webpage.

No that's to get my Bachelor's. After that it's on to grad school.
As I was watching an ongoing Aurora.
I saw the strangest thing ever, I guess you could call it a UFO.
While I was changing the lens for my camera, I quickly looked up to check the aurora. Whilst doing so, I saw 2 really bright dots, about the same size and brigthness as Jupiter. And they were very close to eachother. I put the lens in the camera, and then it vanished.
I know my star sky, and those 2 lights were definitely not there the minute before.
Here's something I whipped up quickly to show you the aproximate location and time of the lights

(red line between dictates the distance between them. And the 2 dots are the lights)
The only time I've seen something shine that bright, is when a satellite reflects sunlight. But this time it stood pretty much still, and there were 2 shining exactly alike.
What the fuck did I just witness Facepunch?

That's weird. I guess that's because very few are picking physics.

Ah cool. I'm still not sure how the system over there works :v: But I assume you're attending some kind of college and then going to grad school.

That's quite bright. Sounds like it could be linked to the aurora borealis. How long did it last?
Could be. Of the 4 auroras I've seen, never have anything like that ever happened.
I also saw 3 shooting stars :v:

Check some sites (I forget which) to see if any satellites were passing overhead.
Definitely sneaky Russians.

I'm not sure if I picked the correct position, but assuming you're at the location your IP points to. And it's as bright as jupiter, then you might have seen 2 of the satellites here. I don't know when you saw them though.

I can at least feel better about myself knowing that you have 4 years of extra experience than I do.

i didn't enjoy QM very much, quite glad i'm shot of it.

Ah I think I know what you saw. It was probably two satellite flares produced by different satellites.

Or perhaps not :/ You said they were stationary.
I have a new saying that I like to live by:
WWCSD? (What Would Carl Sagan Do?)
probably say BILLIONS a lot
probably say BILLIONS a lot
And he'd probably be entirely correct, too.
JohnnyMo1: I think
JohnnyMo1: I might want to be a cosmologist
********: ...why
JohnnyMo1: because
JohnnyMo1: it's interesting to me
JohnnyMo1: and I've only got another year to figure out what I want to specialize in before grad school
********: ;_;
********: don't do it
JohnnyMo1: why not
********: because
********: idk
********: it's dumb
********: you want to do makeup
********: that's super lame unless it's like special effects makeup for movies or some shit
JohnnyMo1: COSMOLOGY =/= COSMOTOLOGY ******
JohnnyMo1: I am literally laughing
JohnnyMo1: so hard
JohnnyMo1: oh my god
JohnnyMo1: yeah ******
JohnnyMo1: I'm going to do 5 years of undergrad physics
JohnnyMo1: then go to grad school for MAKEUP
[editline]29th September 2011[/editline]
*cosmetology
I think the people you know may be slightly... uhh... how to put this kindly? Stupid?
I didn't even know cosmetology was an actual study field :v:
oh my god
that's fucking hilarious
People asking you if you have an astrology ... fuck, we call 'em chairs over here in Physics is pretty funny, too. :v:

Vague source, but I still think this is an interesting read for (future) Biologists.
Read this on a Norwegian news article and this was the only source stated:

If you drive a vehicle that goes with the same speed as a bullet, and then shoot a bullet the opposite way you're driveing, will that bullet fall to the ground directly?

Yes.
