I understand and agree, hard science is always quantifiable (at least in some cases in a probabilistic sense), but why join fine arts and social sciences?
So basically any form of hard science can be interpreted as a series of mathematical proofs and formulae.

Oooh, a jab at my browser, nice one!
Obviously things like economics and law, things which a university might consider a social science, aren't exactly linked too strongly with physics, chem, or bio.
You can call the any extensive research and analysis of any objects or event (or linked events) a science.
MY AUTOMERGE.

If we knew everything, quite possibly.
Though if that were the case then we could hung up our hats and cry at our deterministic and entirely mechanical universe.
We dissected fetal pigs today!
My group was pretty speedy so we even got to look at the brain.
It was so awesome.
I learned that I never want to become a chemist. I understand that some people love chemistry, but I'd never want to take an o chem.
AWWYEEEEEEEE biology makes me hard.
I learned that I never want to become a chemist. I understand that some people love chemistry, but I'd never want to take an o chem.
Why is that?
Better than p chem.
Does anyone here study biology? I'm probably going to study it when I'm done with high school + some extra classes I need.

Also currently working on my biology exam for tomorrow. Blood types up in this bitch.

Physical chem is all numbers and statistics. Prepare to recite the entire kinetic theory with mathematical proof. Or just revive Ahrrenius, that wuld be much easier for you

Yes. Yes it does.
It makes everyone hard.

That is the main aim of science. To analyse and study something so thoroughly we can calculate every phenomenon that the object will experience at any point in time. Which makes me shudder at neuroscience.
But on the bright side we would become as gods if we master the universe and it's nuances through science.
Precisely why organic is preferable to physical chemistry!
Hopefully scientific progress reaches an exponential rate within our life time.

It is, ever since the cold war we have been going up the hill of scientific achievement. 30 years ago you needed a mobile phone the size of your head to communicate on the go. Now devices the size of your fingernail can be controlled wirelessly and used to store and transmit information (RFID anyone?), even humble Netbooks have computational power in the order of powers of ten above what we had 20 years ago. The best thing is, technology that was previously very expensive and limited to laboratories is now available cheaply for the benefit of the public.
Goddamnit I love progressive science.

Hey, at least they are available to everyone and fit on a regular person desk.

I will be your partner in science.

Too bad they'd be blown up due to the massive amounts of science that will be generated.
You an undergrad?

Yeah, I am. You?
Facepunch says you live in Qatar. Is this gonna be your first time living in the UK or what?
I am an undergrad and this will be the first time living in the UK. But three of my siblings already passed bachelor's over there so I have a good idea of what life is like over there.

Nice. You'll almost certainly have an awesome time at uni, or at least that's what everyone tells me :v:
I would hope so. Don't want my years of freedom and unlimited science go to waste.

That's not troll science, That's an Nuclear bomb.

Now that I have a guide for making WMDs I shall be the leader of the world! :downsgun:
Making a uranium nuclear bomb is child's play. I understand now that a child that makes one is no prodigy. All it is is two hunks of U-235 that are approximately 80% critical mass with a mechanism to push them together.

It's all I ever knew...:smith:
Nope.
Sup, so radiation happens naturally, right? And protons can turn into neutrons (ejecting a positron) which can turn into protons(emitting an electron), which means an up quark turns into a down quark after emitting a positron and a down quark turns into an up quark after emitting an electron.
Soo, how does this not violate conservation of energy?
