I think they are going for a less distinct group of "core" zed types. Like, instead of swarms being comprised solely of clots, they will include clots, cysts, and slashers. They will all be fairly weak. It looks like clots are fast, very low health and damage, cysts probably lead clot around in some way, and slashers are more or less a nerfed gorfast that does the most damage of the three.
Basically, they are just clot variants. Or at least that is what I think, but I could be immensely fucking wrong.

No, everybody does this, i do as well every time i see it. We just have our own little databases of words in our heads and if we see something close, we automatically read it as such. It's why you see something different at a glance or can read messages with a lot of numbers and mistypings.

That'd actually be a wonderful idea. They might be next to nothing threat-wise, but the variety (and, iirc, multiple skins for zeds) would make the horde something 10x more threatening.

They've all poured out of the Biotech lab(s?). The Slasher and the Cyst seem to just be mutated Clots, though. I'm guessing that's why they weren't in the original game canon wise. It takes time to mutate.
